We walked and got there before it opened so we went to Tim Hortons for coffee while we waited. Once Win opened we were eager to look around. There's a special on half price clothing if it's marked. There was a great selection of scarves and purses. They had many toys and children's books. It was fun to look at all of the organized items. We found a couple of music books.

A cute little thrift shop in downtown Victoria. We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of…read morethrift, vintage, and consignment stores right in the central touristy area (thanks to the college students, I'm guessing). This volunteer-run shop is owned by the Victoria Cool Aid Society, which works to provide housing, temporary shelter, and health care for the homeless. The staff and customers seemed to know each other and were friendly and chatty as we browsed. The store isn't huge, but it has racks of men's and women's clothing, housewares, shoes, art, and books in the back. Everything seemed reasonably priced, especially the books, which were $1 or less! Sadly, we only had a few minutes to look around and (more to the point) didn't have any Canadian money on us, so we didn't purchase anything. But I'd definitely come back when I had more time to shop, as I'd like to support their mission. If you like thrifting and you're in central Victoria, it's worth a stop!

This second hand shop has a great selection! It was huge actually…read more Once you make your way up the stairs the space immediately opens to a large space filled with cute finds. There were shoes and boots along one wall next to shelves with hats, many styles of hats. Plenty of dresses, skirts, jeans, t-shirts and I could keep going. I found a cute jumpsuit dress that was very reasonably priced. There is plenty here for both guys and gals and it's worth checking out.

There's a security guard at the entrance. The place was huge and seemed to be well stocked. There's many selections, but some of the quality seemed lacking. The prices seemed high. We left without buying anything. I looked at suitcases because my mother-in-law's suitcase handle was messing up, but the suitcases were severely damaged and not worth the prices tagged.

Yeah. That's this place. Panache calls itself a home decor consignment shop, and appears to have been in business for about a year. They have no web presence to speak of and seeing as neither their business cards, their signage, or the couple ads I found online actually say what they do it's a wonder that anyone goes there at all. But here's the secret: this little consignment shop? A store full of carefully curated vintage furniture and housewares, at literally thrift store prices. We stumbled on this place by accident - we were hitting every shop in Victoria that might remotely have had anything vintage or antique within its walls, and we just happened to drive by this place and slammed on the breaks for a chair we spotted out front. Walking in I could't believe my eyes when I started to look at prices... two original 1888 upholstered banquet chairs from London in good condition, $140 for the pair (a crazy steal, and they are now around my dining table). Serving dishes with pristine bakelite handles for $5. A cute glass cake stand for $7. I've paid more at Value Village for similar pieces, and this place is full of finds like these. I told the owner that he was underpriced. He told me to tell EVERYONE. The business side of me wants to sit him down and help him to actually be profitable, the rational side of me says he's probably not going to listen to a random girl who walked in off the street so all I really can do if I want to go back is to help ensure he stays in business. So - there you have it, folks. Go treasure hunting!
