I love Wimberley Collision! I had my last two repairs done there. Christina and Darwin go over and above, and even help with all of the rental car stuff. The repairs look perfect, it was done quick and they even fixed a couple of little things without charging me. There's no back-and-forth or uncertainty like I've had had with other repair shops. Went in to get an estimate to repair my door on my 03 Aztec, got the quote, which I feel was a fair price, but the worker who was helping me said "I'll get a hold of my GM parts guy and see if we can find the door hinge" after 4 hours I started look for the hinge myself online, found one and called him back, he stated " my guy thinks he found one in San Antonio I'll call you back and let you know if we get it" he never called back. I did get the hinge along with the front fender, so I called him back to let him know I had the parts and asked what the extra cost would be to paint and put the fender on. He again stated he would work up an estimate and let me know that was 9 days ago I have yet to hear from him. I guess either they are to busy or they just don't need want to work on my car, either way it would have been nice to at least reach out and let me one way or the other. read more

Ok - my car was not fixed by these folks so I can not comment on that. This was based on my experience picking them based on their Yelp reviews, and reviewing their website... I had a WRX I thought may have had frame damage I wanted checked out. I have AAA and could have easily had AAA tow my car in for free, but looking at their website it appeared they offered towing and they made a big deal about "free shuttle service". When I called to talk about having them work on my car I spoke to Ryan, I mentioned AAA once, but he just wanted to know my address - and I told him that if they were going to pick the car up that the next day late in the morning would be best for me. At no time did he say that they would charge me to pick my car up (or I would have had AAA do it). The next day, they pick the car up - take it in, put it on the rack tell me that the frame isn't bent, but the lower control arm is, and that it needs to go to an alignment shop for this repair and that they will take it there for no charge. I am thinking WOW - THESE GUYS ARE SO FRICKIN AWESOME - I SHOULD TELL EVERYBODY.... And I kept thinking that until I get a phone call two hours later telling me that they delivered it to the body shop, and that I owed them $67 for the towing. I am thinking WTF? And politely ask: "WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME THIS BEFORE WHEN I COULD HAVE HAD AAA DO IT FOR FREE?" He said - "I am sorry if there was a misunderstanding, but we always charge for towing" - not wanting a mechanics lien on my car I give him my credit card number. -AT THIS POINT I AM JUST GLAD THEY DON'T HAVE MY CAR ANY MORE- Hey Ryan, was collecting that $67 that you never told me about ahead of time worth it? read more

I was in a small fender bender with some minor suspension damage while visiting Wimberley. The officer that showed up called for a tow truck for me and the driver suggested taking the car to Wimberley Collision and then have my insurance company arrange towing back to Austin. When I got to Wimberley Collision I was greeted by multiple people who were working and they were very empathetic, courteous, and helpful about my situation. They had offered to do an estimate for free and to work with my insurance company, and I decided to just keep the car there, as my insurance paid towing is only covered for 10 miles, so I would be paying quite a bit on top of my deductible due to long distance towing. Wimberley Collision's service was extraordinary, they fixed my car promptly, When I inquired about the repair status they were quick to respond and very thorough. When time came to get my car, I rode with some friends back to Wimberley and decided to make a day of it. I got to WC and saw they had not only fixed my car impeccably, but also it was very clean and detailed. The work they did was awesome and the car drove smoother and straighter than even before the accident. I am glad I decided to keep the car in Wimberley and have Wimberley Collision fix my car. Gieco wanted me to go all over San Marcos. First to an adjuster then to a body shop and finally a rental car company. Got tired of waiting and looked up collision centers in Wimberley. Talked to Ryan he worked it all out for me. Rental was brought to me, adjuster came to Wimberley Collision and I had to do nothing. I had to wait awhile to post this because I was very upset about my treatment at Wimberley Collision and Automitive. I had an unavoidable collision with a 10-point buck on 2325 in Wimberley. I called in my accident to my insurance company and was told that Wimberley Collision was a preferred (by the insurance company) repair shop and that repairs performed by such a shop would be guaranteed for as long as I owned the car (turns out that the work is guaranteed by the shop not the insurance company and that all shops guarantee the work). The police said the car was driveable so I drove it a very short distance to my mechanic's shop and was told not to drive it further. I arranged to have the vehicle towed by Wimberley Collision to its shop. $105 for 1 mile. The collision happened Thursday about 8:20 a.m., the vehicle arrived at Wimberley Collision about 10:30 a.m. and I immediately began receiving messages from Robert. I returned the calls and he inserted himself into the rental car arrangements without being asked. That afternoon I went by the shop to discuss the possibility of having some minor body work done since the vehicle was in the shop anyway. I spoke with Ryan and during the course of the conversation he stated that it looked like the damage from the deer was "about $3,000." The adjuster/estimator from the insurance company went by the shop on Friday afternoon and his estimate was $5,900 +. Ryan called and left a message regarding the insurance estimate and the estimate for the other work at around 4:30 p.m.; I received this message later that evening, well after business hours. The difference between Ryan's "about $3,000" and the actual damage was a red flag to me. Then I realized that when I had been at the shop they did not appear to have any business - it was the cleanest and quietest shop I had ever seen. I checked the reviews and started asking around - I did not like what I heard. I spoke with my adjuster and he said I could use any shop I wanted to use. I called Wimberley Collision shortly after 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning, the next business day and told them to take no further action. I located a shop I thought was a better fit for my vehicle which is a well-maintained, low mileage late model Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, with a Hemi. I made arrangements to have my vehicle towed Tuesday morning. I called Wimberley Collision to advise them that I was moving the vehicle. I spoke with Robert and he demanded to know why. I told him I was not comfortable with his shop. He said he had a bill. I asked how much, he said he did not know he would have to itemize it and call me back. I then received a call almost immediately from the tow company I was using stating that Robert from Wimberley Collision had called and demanded payment in excess of $600 to release the vehicle. I made arrangements to meet the tow truck at Wimberley Collision. I went in and talked to Robert about the bill - $105 for the tow, $100 for storage fees, $98 for two hours labor (which would have had to occurred on a day that I was also charged for storage), and $300 for parts restocking fees. I did not have an issue with the tow or the labor, and I can understand the storage. However, the parts restocking fee was not justified. I pointed out that I never authorized him to do any repairs, which he acknowledged. Then he said that MY HUSBAND HAD AUTHORIZED THE REPAIRS (watch out ladies - your car is not your own)!!! My husband said he was introduced to Robert by our mechanic on Friday morning before the estimate was even in and, by the way, he said Robert told him "it looks like about $4,000 worth of damage." At any rate it was not my husband's decision to make. I asked Robert where these parts were and he said some were there and some had already been sent back. I asked to see the parts that were at the shop and he refused. I paid the bill in order to obtain the release of my vehicle. Note that the bill was 10% of the actual damage estimate. My impression is that this place is desperate for business and will do anything for a buck. I am very glad that I did not allow them to work on my vehicle. read more

I highly DON'T recommend this shop! I broke down and had to have my car towed by their wrecker. The wrecker driver smelled like he'd drank a liquor store and he smoked the entire time he attempted to hook my car up on the the wrecker. He had no knowledge of what he was doing and didn't even strap my car down! Then after getting my car to the garage the man in the office tried to tell me I needed $1200 worth of repairs! I thought I had only broke a belt, but he said no there was more to it than that. Then tried to sell me on I needed a new water pump that he said was another $800. I told them just to fix the belt and I would see about the rest later. I then took it to another garage where they said there was nothing wrong with my car. Since I have heard nothing but bad about this shop! I did some research and found that they can't get good help and are hiring illegal aligns with no knowledge of painting or body work. The wrecker driver has no knowledge of his job and needs to be turned in to who ever regulates wreckers in Texas! The so called owner Robert Welch needs to be put out of business for ripping people off and charging for work that is not needed! read more

##Do not take your vehicle here## This shop agreed to fix my wife's car without charging me the deductible, they used this as an excuse later for putting out really poor work. I was trying to support local businesses and what I got was a bad repair. Panels that don't align, runs in the paint, damage not repaired that was part of the accident, burnt windshield from welding, mismatched wheel, and on. They advertise a lifetime warranty on repairs, but be aware that's apparently up to the owner. read more
