Is there a 6 star option here? Seriously...Texas State Optical deserves it…read more From the moment you call to make an appt, to when you walk in the door and are greeted by the staff...to when you finally put on that new pair of glasses you've been waiting for! TSO offers the best customer service experience possible and you get great glasses to boot. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by the staff and they checked me in. I only waited about 5 min before getting my eyes checked. Throughout the entire time, the young lady helping me was amazing. Extremely courteous... professional...and every other word that relates to customer service exemplified. I took in my old glasses so they already had an idea of my prescription. The doctor took me to the back for the eye exam and about 10 min later I was walking out. The staff then showed me which lenses I could pick from based off my insurance. After choosing the ones I liked, they said they should be ready in about 1 week. Well to my nice surprise they were ready for pickup the next day! When I went to pick them up they gave me the case with a spray and small towel to clean them with in a small bag with my name hand written on it. The devil is in the details but those little details win over customers. This feels like a fairly new optical... slightly small...but with it's amazing staff, great doctor, and top-of-the line customer service, it feels and is the best place to get your glasses.

Wish more doctors office worked this way. Office staff very friendly. as was everyone else. Was seen by Blake Hensler PA. From his examination which included outlining where in my ear my issue was stemming from, he explained that he would like to start on medication. If the medication was not affective there were two alternatives. Both were detailed to me where i was even shown a small device that would be placed in my ear if the meds were not affective. Left with a very high comfort level that whatever the outcome Blake and the Institute will provide me with excellent care.

When I just needed help. The receptionist was great, and I love that she recognized me whenever I walked in. The other doctor/PA Jonathan was also good to me. But both Cesar and Dr. Glatz never treated me good and would exaggerate my attitude and tone when writing/recording their notes. Highly don't recommend.

Visiting with our daughters last summer, they told me how much better everything sounded for them…read morewith their new hearing devices. They both mentioned how much they had missed out on for years. So that prompted me to think maybe I should get my hearing checked. When I saw Dr. Steel I asked him if he could recommend a good audiologist. And he set me up at the Mackie Clinic. When I arrived I had the normal paperwork to fill out and after that was promptly ushered to see Dr. Mackie. The first thing he did was check my ears for ear wax. And boy did he find a bunch! Then I got to visit the audiologist to see if there were any deficiencies in my hearing. Sure enough, I was showing problems with high-frequency hearing loss. Visiting with the audiologist Marco Pulido we discussed the various devices available. Then we decided on a set of devices which I must say are working fantastically well. In fact, they are so good I hate to go without wearing them. And the follow-up visits are great too as he continues to fine-tune them for me and gives me additional pointers on the proper care for them. So, even if you are not sure you are having hearing problems, just to have things checked out you might consider giving the clinic a call.

I've called multiple times in reference to some glasses I had made with their office, and they never answer or they do answer and then they hang up. It's a terrible job done by staff; it seems they just like to sit and talk all day but only to each other. I had an appointment late October and purchased my glasses the first week of November. It's going on 3 months, and they have no answers for my glasses. I wouldn't recommend coming here it seems you'll get your new glasses/contacts by your next visit which is in a year.

Dr. Chang is great. The four stars are for her. She is very thorough, experienced, personable,…read morelistens to you, communicates well, has patience with her patients, doesn't rush you as she goes through the eye exam ("Which is better: one or two?, Three or four?" Etc.). My family all agrees she is the best in the area for eye exams. One family member had a hard time with contact lenses and Dr. Chang was great working with her. The lady who did the screening and initial testing for glaucoma, etc., was also very friendly and thorough. The ladies at the reception however could use a refresher on customer service. They did not greet me or others I noticed as we arrived. They looked like they really didn't want to be there or help. Perhaps I just caught them at a bad time. The day I went the office could have been managed better. While I had an appointment for 1 PM and arrived 15 minutes prior, I did a lot of waiting. They took me back on time, but it was 3 PM before I got out. The frames are all name brand and expensive, not well organized. If you're in a hurry, you might want to go somewhere else. However I felt it was worth the wait and the lack of professionalism from the front desk to be seen by Dr. Chang. I have tried several other places in town over the last 18 years. Some others have nicer looking buildings and perky people, but she is the best I have found. Prices are reasonable too, and some insurance is accepted. I do recommend Nolana Eye Center for eye exams but I go elsewhere to actually buy my glasses. The office is part of an older strip mall. Rather dated, a little dark with wood paneling. There is a private parking lot and it's in a great location on Nolana Ave.
