REVISED REVIEW OF FIRST POINT DENTAL…read more The first dentist told me I had two cavities to fill. I went in to get them filled and found out the first dentist was not in - it was the owner. He told me I needed a crown and a possible root canal. I told him I wanted a second opinion. I got the second opinion. The new dentist told me I did not need a root canal it was just a large filling that I needed. The new dentist told me I had a small cavity on Tooth #30 that neither dentist from First Pont Dental caught. The new dentist told me I needed to get my teeth cleaned. I told him I just got them cleaned at First Point Dental five weeks prior. The first dentist from First Point Dental used a silver thing with water in it and knicked me twice which really hurt. I ran my tongue over my teeth after the new dentist told me that and sure enough I could feel all the plaque. The first dentist did not even use a silver pick. Patients beware of First Point Dental. I truly believe they do not know what they are doing. I don't know how two different dentists from the same office can look at the same x-ray and come up with such different opinions. Especially the first one. Two cavities (no mention of a crown) and not cleaning my teeth properly. And, of course, both of them missing the cavity on Tooth number 30. In retrospect, the new dentist just fixed the two teeth that needed repair work. He told me they needed the repair work for quite awhile. If First Point Dental would have told me this a year or two ago, I could have avoided the extra repair work which not only cost me extra money but also my insurance company. It would have been just a couple of cavities like the first dentist said and nothing more. Also, First Point Dental goes under three different names. First Point Dental, The Dental Specialists, P.C. and Dentistry for Everyone. What is going on - sounds fishy to me.

Today was my fourth appointment with First Point Dental…read more My first appointment was with a new dentist, who took an inordinate amount of time. I received apologies and a follow up call from the office manager and was assured that I would be served better in the future. That has been very true and I am so happy to have stayed with this office. The next dentist I saw was wonderful. Today's visit was with Dr Jai Batth, who was so impressive! From his initial introducing himself to my observations of his interactions with the dental assistant, to explanations of next steps, he set me at ease. I felt that I was in competent hands and that he cared about my experience of that care. At the begginning, I had a question about work that was previously prescribed and his response was to double check and describe what he saw. At the end, his suggestions for proactive care were helpful. I have also very much appreciated how the front office has worked with my insurance company.

Dr Luria was the worst dentist I have ever visited in my 60 yrs of my life. I actually cried like…read morea baby while he was in my mouth. He was so rude and heavy handed. I couldn't even ask simple questions before he started. His answers were rude and smart mouthed. I told him he was hurting me and if he could be gentle. He will definitely not be back in my mouth.

I had one the worst experiences with this Oral Surgeon Dr. Jamie Scott Luria, that I've ever had in…read moremy entire life. He lacks compassion and empathy. He entered and introduced himself and said I can pull this tooth or you can come back another day. The crazy thing is The appointment was scheduled for an extraction so what was the point of the question. I then told him that's why I scheduled the appointment for an extraction he then says so is that a yes? That was rude and unnecessary. The 1st thing he did was grab my chin and throw my head back and told me to open my mouth that hurt my face and my feelings now I know how horses feel. During the procedure he didn't treat me like a person he threw his tools on my chest while he was working umm dentist normally have a tray right over you to put their tools on my chest is not a table. I haven't experienced that before. Also I was in extreme pain to the point I pushed his hand away which I apologized for I'm 43 years old and have had many extractions and two root canal's and have never felt that much pain from any dentist. I apologized it was like a reflex when I did it I felt so bad. He gave more medication it was still hurting so I was balling my fists up and shaking from the extreme pain. This upset him so he screamed at me and told me to stop being so tense telling me it's not pain it's just the vibrations from the drill and me moving was making it worse. There were tears coming out my eyes from the pain. The pain I was feeling caused me to tense up. Ladies and Gentleman I can take vibrations I was feeling extreme pain. So he said I'm going to stop and we will sedate you for this tooth extraction that was a good call. Now his assistant went to re-explain why we need to reschedule the visit was due to me not being able to calm down, so I told her I was very calm I was feeling extreme pain while I was telling her that this surgeon started yelling at me again saying yea we gotta reschedule because you need to be sedated so you can be calm. I asked him what should I do for the pain in the mean time since you drilled some of this tooth away. He yelled from the hallway take some Tylenol. He didn't ask me how I was feeling, I don't know if he was having a bad day or what? If a tooth is so bad that you can't even get it numb enough it would stand to reason he should've at least offered to prescribe me something for the pain. This surgeon is not much for small talk either. Normally dentist and oral surgeons do multiple checks to see if your experiencing pain and they don't yell at you for being in pain. I've gotten better dental care on Medicaid
