If I could give no stars I would Unprofessional!! Entrap you so you owe money by decreasing your budget plan so much you owe and they don't inform you of this. I gave my correct email address and somebody incompetent took a down wrong so I have never received any notifications from them yet. When my card on file failed they did not notify me. They will entrap you into owing them money do not go with this company !!! The reason why I have not responded until now is due to a family emergency. I cannot deal with this situation extensively yet as it is a life or death personal issue. Better manners and professionalism would be appreciated. read more

terrible company. Set up an account for propane for my new generator installation sent all the certificates and booked a delivery for propane. I was told it would be early the next week. I called on the Wednesday afternoon to ask when I would get a delivery and was told I lived a little far out so I would have to wait until there had a vehicle in my area!!! When I opened the account I asked if my home was in there area for delivery and I was assured that it wouldn't be a problem. there propane vehicle was in my area on the Wednesday afternoon that's why I called to see why I hadn't had my delivery. I'm now stuck trying to sort out a propane supplier after these clowns let me down read more

this company is a total ripoff. I signed up for oil last year and was locked into a price which no one ever told me. i paid in full each fill up with auto pay. I was just charged 1.60 more per gallon than the going rate. I called to see how they can justify being 40 percent more per gallon than any other local company and the response I received was "they answer the phone 9 hours a day. I was told my contract pricing expired, which I was never told I have. they said I was mailed a letter and also emailed. I don't delete emails and have no email from them stating my contract was about to expire. they checked their system and admitted they didn't send an email, but somehow can tell they supposedly sent a letter. also each ime my credit card was charged I only received a credit card receipt, never an itemized bill. I always had to call or email to ask for an itemized receipt. this company uses pump and dump scams and pray on people to not look at their price per gallon. Update, David never offered to adjust the pricing for the current fuel delivery, only going forward, which is/was unacceptable. Online portal? I was never made aware of an online portal, just like I was never made aware of being locked into a certain price for 1 year, your company entered me into that program without my knowing. seems like your staff needs to focus on letting you're customers know what options they have on the phone When they sign up. As poor as usps has been the past few year I don't think a "we sent a letter" will cut it, especially when your email services admittedly don't work as well. There will never be an acceptable answer as to how you can ethically charge more for home heating oil which has no on road tax, than on road taxed diesel fuel. read more

Their contracts only support their business!!! Do not use this company! You will pay on average a dollar more than fair market value and the only time somebody will contact you back is when you cancel your plan because of the ridiculous prices they charge! Response to Mr. David: mm....I am wondering what part of our email exchange was made public Mr. CEO? You have once again failed to mention how your language states that I can't have a service agreement without a price protection plan. Funny how I carried a service agreement for THREE YEARS! Also, if you think $3.61 a gallon is a fair price when my sources tell me they sold at $2.61 a gallon last year, you may need to revisit your college math courses. I encourage people to shop around to ensure that they are receiving the best price for their oil. I may voice my opinion anytime I want. You also failed to address your customer service issue, which has been noted in another YELP review (see below)? Sounds like answering the phone has not been a priority for sometime unless of course you want to cancel a service then the ACTUAL boss man reaches right out to you within minutes. I was given the same lame excuse that "we are down a CSR and blah blah blah..." Again, not my problem! That's your problem. Amazing how that works! Thank you for giving me the same information again. One last thing, if you want to do a verbal contract, it needs to be VERBALLY stated! ALL terms and conditions. Not the generic version that your lovely CSR presented with. The initial delivery was prompt & account set-up was quick, HOWEVER the customer service & information provided since then have been SO inconsistent. I was told 1 sign-on rate but charged another. I called in twice to confirm & was told an adjustment took place & an amended invoice would be sent out - Never happened. I ended up receiving an invoice for the old amount with a big red "PAST DUE" stamp on it when we actually already paid in full & have proof of that. I had to talk to 4 agents to finally get that right. Then today I receive another "PAST DUE" invoice for a tune-up of the heater, which I was told would be included once a year when initially signing up. Here come more crossed wires. I'll be cold this winter before I'd ever use this company again. read more

Wilson oil made replacing my oil tank effortless. The came out inspected my old tank and and gave me several options for replacement. I choose the tank I wanted and they came out on a day that was most convenient for me and replaced my tank. The guys who showed up were professional and respectful of my house. I am surprised to see so many negative reviews, as we have had good experiences with Wilson. I shop my cap program every year and have used various companies depending on who has the best prices that year. I have used Wilson a few times, including last year. I find their service personnel to be better than many other companies. I did have a few minor issues last year (e.g., small amount of oil spilled when doing tune up, and one day when I ran out of fuel about 2 hours before the truck was scheduled to come), but overall this is one of the good oil companies in my mind. read more

David contacted regarding my review below and spent hours investigating, explaining and correcting our situation. I was defiantly impressed by how much he put into making the situation right and being honest. He now has converted a frustrated customer who would have spoken negatively about his company to anyone I could have to someone who is a bit more satisfied than neutral. Still a warning in dealing with possibly any local oil supply company: don't agree to anything over the phone and confirm with them on the phone that you are not signing up or agreeing to anything nor are you giving them permission to send a opt out style contract to you. Earlier review summary: My wife talks to a sales person, she gets off the phone telling me she scheduled 1 delivery but didn't agree to any contract. We get in the mail a phone binding contract that states we only have 3 days to respond to cancel. Now we are obligated to pay their ridiculous high rates for 1,000 gallons because we didn't review their algal trap earlier. read more

This has been the worst experience I ever had trying to get an account set-up for oil delivery. The communication is simply horrible. I usually never leave reviews because if I am dissatisfied with service I send a letter or email to the company. For a family-owned company that's been in business for 91 years, I thought I would get better and prompt service. Comminucation is everything in business whether it's wriiten or verbal. I would give it zero stars if that were an option. I requested an estimate for a gas stove, fireplace and dryer. A guy named Joe, texted last week and set up an appointment for today, 9/12/19 at Noon. I took the day off of work to be here for the appointment, as I am very intent on getting this done asap. Noon, came and went, at 12:30, I called Joe and he said he didn't recall making an appointment with me. I said, I have a text message confirming today's appointment, he said, oh, I'm still in my office. At that point, it told me everything I needed to know about Wilson oil and propane's customer service and told him for get it. I called another company and they will be here tomorrow. I guess Wilson is not interested in additional customers. I wasted a day off and time that could have been used for more productive matters. Beware of this company!!! They act friendly when you are a new customer, then they show you their true colors. They bill for service calls even if you have a plan that is supposed to cover service. If you are on auto delivery I would suggest you still keep an eye on your tank - you will run out and then they take their time to get you oil. Up to two days. They don't honor their plans or promises. I ran out of oil on three occasions (I was on auto delivery) had coverage and plan -according to their promises if you run out of oil they will give you a $50 credit - I GOT NOTHING except being cold for 2 days waiting on them to deliver oil- even after I had called them and was informed the delivery was on its way. read more

Wilson Oil refused to fill an oil tank, saying it was rusted out and could burst. Of course they said they could install a new tank. I told the homeowner to hold off until I could inspect it but they had already removed it first thing the next morning. I could not drill through the bottom of the "Rusted Tank" after 5 minutes. It was only slight surface rust. Now they have told another homeowner that the vent pipe is too small (1 1/4" which is the minimum allowed by NFPA, which is the governing body), saying the tank could burst, again refusing to fill the tank until they installed a 2" vent pipe. My husband and I recently had a generator installed by Wilson Oil and Propane. We had only recently become Wilson customers (being new to oil heat), but were pleased with the way we were being treated so decided to do our home generator with them. And they did not disappoint. Gerald and Kathryn were a great team to work with. They were professional, friendly and prompt throughout the entire process. They made sure we were comfortable with the product we were purchasing and answered all our questions (and my husband likes to ask questions) quickly and thoroughly. Dave contacted me about my complaint and resolved my problem to my satisfaction. Seems like a good guy. I had always had a good view of the company before because of the good service of their technicians when it comes to repairs. With his help in resolving my lack of previous satisfaction, I now rate the company good. I would not recommend this company. They had my account information setup for auto bill pay, but never processed payment and then applied late charges and finance fees, which I thought was redundant. I went into the office to speak to them about the mistake and after reviewing my bill I noticed they added in a $300 service contract that I never agreed to. When I asked to see the original paperwork they said detailed the $300 fee, they presented me with a general contract I had never seen before and did not sign. They told me it was binding under the UCC law. After I argued, they agreed to waive the fee and refund my over payment. They told me I would receive my refund in 90 days. I emailed them multiple times over the course of 90 days with no responses. The kicker was, when I said what they were doing was illegal, they told me to sue them. They already have multiple law suits and they are prepared to fight. Bad sign. Oh, and their oil was $.49 more per gallon than the next company I called. Stay away. read more
