He kept telling me how nice it looked, and how he thought it wasn't very dirty. He was in and out of the house very quickly, and we had two sets of stairs, and several rooms to clean. The carpet didn't look much better when he was done, and two months later, it looks much worse that if we hadn't had them "cleaned" at all. I was hoping the "zero residue" would prevent this, but it turns out the only difference is that they use purified water. We are going to have to hire another company to come in and clean properly just to get the carpet to look as good as it did before Zerorez came out to "clean" it.

They say they guarantee their work, but this is NOT true! Their worker broke the drain valve when he installed the heater. My basement utility room flooded all over my furnace, etc. When I asked the owner to please purchase a new drain valve and install it for free since the installer broke it, he said that it was not his problem. He said that his installer did it, not him and he no longer worked at the business. He refused to do the replacement, plus I realized later the extreme price gouging he does! Since the, I have had wokers downstairs who saw the job that had been done and said, "let me guess, Schomburg did this work, right? You can always tell it is them, because they do such shoddy work." I wish that I would have known this before. Just giving fair warning to others.

Once he "thought" he knew what was wrong, we agreed to the $250 diagnostic charge to investigate further and "find" the real problem. At first it was a faulty switch, then it was a leak, then we needed 10lbs of refrigerant...everytime he went out and came back in, there was something else wrong. Charlie was pressuring us into buying a new unit...we said no, just do what you need to get it working today. The repairs would cost about $4000. I felt like he was more of a salesman than a repair man. We told him not to do any repairs and leave. We then called a small locally owned company to ask for a second opinion. There was no leak, it did not need refrigerant, and was a quick and easy fix. The inside was full of grass clippings, causing the unit to shut-down as a safety feature. All it needed was to be cleaned, and it did not cost anywhere near $4000.
