Shortly after Danville was hit by hurricane Michael, the power went out and my furnace stopped working. I called the heating contractor I had been using, and the technician told me that I would need a whole new furnace. Since the furnace had been working perfectly earlier in the day, I doubted that the furnace was shot. Next, I called Steve's Heating and Air Conditioning (formerly Hale's). Steve and his assistant came right out. Steve checked all the furnace's electrical connections, tested motors, etc. Then he replaced one switch, and cleaned the furnace!! The furnace now works better now than it did when we bought the house two years ago ... It heats the house better, and is a lot quieter! The furnace runs like new. I plan to deal exclusively with Steve from now on. read more

From the time the tech arrived to diagnose my compressor to meeting with Michele in our home to the complete install was about 4 days! The tech did an great job and thoroughly explained what happened with my old unit. Michele came to our house later that day and was patient with us explaining all of our options. She definitely knows the equipment and was a great help in selecting our new units. The techs that did the install were very professional and did the work of replacing both the furnace and AC unit in about 5 hours. They cleaned the area inside and out and explained the new thermostat operation in detail. We even received of a new soft side lunch box and a bag of delicious cookies a few days later! I cannot say enough good about this company. During a recent cold snap, our heating system did not seem to be functioning correctly. I made an appointment for Bill, the owner, to come and service our system. He at first thought the repairs would be so great that we would be better off purchasing a new system for $6,000 or more. Then, he estimated that the repairs would be likely around $800. We were thrilled when he found upon further checking, that the repair would only be $261! An unscrupulous HVAC company would have sold us a new system or at least charged us the original $800 estimate. It is a pleasure dealing with an honest company. I've used Hales's Heating and Cooling for 11 years and have always been pleased. My AC quit working this summer and they came out that day. They got it working, but I needed a new system. I knew I was going to need a new AC, but they didn't hard sell me at all. Had a new AC and furnace installed and the technicians were great. They arrived on time, were very professional, and completed the job quicker than I'd expected. They took the time to attach wires in a manner that left the area neater than the original unit. We scheduled a tune up after they reached out for a $39 tune up special. When the 'tech' arrived, he explained it was not actually a tune up, but they would just document the equipment model numbers and installation dates. This was clearly a bait in switch tactic to get someone in the house to sell a maintenance agreement. I cancelled on the spot and set them on their way. Having used Hale's in the past, I am extremely disappointed in these sleazy sales tactics. read more

The Service Tech's arrived 9:00 exactly on time. They surveyed the job and started cleaning the our furnace and installed our whole house air purifier. Which I love!!!! They immediately started cleaning the duct work being mindful of our furniture, walls and hardwood floors while carrying around the vacuum and hose.
