The…read moreschool has been such a blessing to us, as we moved to Phoenix (from Oklahoma City) at the end of December 2017.  We were hoping to find a nurturing school home for our daughter and truly wanted a place that focused both on academics and a holistic, hands-on learning approach.  In addition, my mom has been a preschool director for over 30-years and has set the educational bar high, so we knew the questions to ask when looking for a new school.   Upon our first tour, my daughter and I knew this was the right spot for her Spring semester.  The class sizes are small, and the teachers are extremely nurturing; Emma Fominaya is an excellent director and teacher, and she truly prepares the kids for Kindergarten and beyond.  Both Emma & her husband, Terence, have poured their hearts, time, and hard word into building a school of high integrity.   Their food program is excellent, as they serve fresh, organic breakfasts and lunches to the kids.  They also incorporate the outside garden into the meals and include planting days with the preschool families.  We have had many opportunities to become a part of a supportive school community, and we have enjoyed getting to know the Fominayas and other preschool parents.   The before and after care is also extremely helpful, our daughter always insists on staying until 6:00pm--she absolutely loves her time at school and her teachers.  The schedule also goes year-round and doesn't follow breaks, which is helpful/important for working parents.  We also enjoy the consistency and the flexibility to map out attendance days, as we do a M/W/F schedule.   Overall, this school is worth every penny and an amazing place; we are so thankful we found Camelback Holistic...now if we can just talk them into offering Kindergarten, we never want to leave!

It is a holistic education, with strong academics, lots of play, cultural studies, art, science, emotional intelligence, music, soccer, yoga, health, and the list goes on. The food cooked on site is organic and real food that the children enjoy. There are performances by the children, family events, holiday events, field trips, and more. Our oldest child has started K and was very well prepared coming from CHP. We are so happy we found this gem for our children!

This will be our 3rd year as a family at the Co-op and I can't recommend it more for not only your…read morekiddo, but also the community that comes with it. It is so nice to get together with like-minded parents that just want a place where their kids can play and explore. You yourself get a chance to be in the classroom and help out, play and see all of your kids' friends interact. Soon you will be getting your feet in the sand yard, going to parent meetings where the teachers will give you tips on how to calm your child during a meltdown, and you will talk to other parents and see that you're not alone. Some examples of community that I can think of during our time are the parent meetings, potluck events, a camping trip, and events at school where everyone is welcome for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. When we had our second child, and EECP knew we were finally home, we got a few gifts delivered for our new baby, but also a couple of big brother gifts and books from the school. When I'm at work and I get some photos sent to our parent group message board of what the kids are doing that day, it makes you wish you were at school that day instead of sitting behind a desk. Those are the times I know that we got lucky to find the EECP and other involved parents and teachers. One other thing I remembered that I enjoy is the stuff that our kiddo brings home. It is not just paintings that will soon be on your fridge or decorated shoe boxes, but also stories and music. Our 3-year-old would come home from school and teach me about Mardi Gras. He insisted on Mardi Gras songs being played in our home. He enjoyed dancing and marching and was explaining how parades worked, as if I had no idea what one was. It was so much fun to finally go to school and see all the kids parade around in fun costumes and carry around little decorated shoe boxes they made in class. This is just one of the events that we've loved as a family and now as a community.

My grandfather's funeral was held here and my great grandmother's cookie recipe is even in the church cookbook (the only thing I bake that doesn't come from a box). Prince of Peace has forever left it's mark on me... literally, I fell out of a tree in the preschool playground and bit through the skin under my lip. I may only attend service on Christmas Eve (for the candlelight and the pipe organ), but Prince of Peace holds a special place in my heart. It's beautifully located, with Camelback Mountain in the background and the sense of community is wonderful (not that I'm a part of that community, let's be honest). In all seriousness, if I was ever going to be part of a church community again, this would be the one. Now, I know on the surface an endorsement from a nonbeliever who never attends service holds little weight, but it actually does say a lot... especially if you've happened to catch any of my other reviews.

They truly care about each child. From the beginning, they made us feel like part of a family. Everyone knew our daughter well, including being mindful of her food allergies, which meant so much to us as parents. Mrs. Margot and her amazing staff create such a loving, safe, and fun environment where children truly thrive. Jade learned so much during her time there, and I can honestly say they helped prepare her for kindergarten. One thing I really loved as a parent was their app, where they shared daily updates and photos so I always felt connected to her day. Their summer program is also incredible--they have water days, explore different countries from around the world, bring in special guests, and even let the kids experience different foods. We're so thankful for everything Mrs. Margot and her staff have done for Jade. They truly care about each child, and it shows every single day!

Also, when I was applying, the director was "nice" but once I got the job her attitude changed. Once he moved up to the pre-ones room I picked him up with blood from his mouth and on his shirt , after falling and no one called me. When I arrived to pick him up I rushed him to the doctors to be examined, and he had boasted lip and chipped teeth from the fall. The teacher swore nothing happened and blamed it on teething . I called the police and disenrolled my son. I also informed the state because of their negligence, and no documentation of the incident and no first aid provided to my baby. There are no valuable teachers that enjoy working here. The quality of care is the same as its surrounding neighborhood, with is bad.

Everyone was so nice and had smiles on their faces. The rooms were clean and organized. I noticed each room had boards with the curriculum, kids allergies, schedule, etc. The school was very clean!! Also this academy is education based, not like your typical preschool where kids just play and go a couple days a week. They pride themselves on providing value to children and their parents. I was blown away! 10 out of 10 would recommend.
