These guys have saved me twice now and I can't thank them enough…read more The first time was when I was having trouble with the heating unit starting for the first time last winter. The blower fan on the heating element would not kick on so the whole unit was dead. After calling around on a Sunday evening for someone that had a replacement part, ACAR said they could help and arrive at the house in less than a hour. They were able to replace the part and give a thumbs up on the repair with no outer parts needed. The cost was very reasonable and I thanked them for a job well done. The second time was on a summer day and the a/c refused to start. Our kids were living at the house at this time with their daughter and they needed to get the house cooled back down for her sake so they called someone off the internet to come out. The repair company looked at the unit and said it needed a capacitor to get it going but it was old and needed to be replace. It was repaired and the a/c started but the repairman wanted to do a few more things to complete the repair so they called me for advice and once I found out what had been done and how much it would cost, I told them to pay him and ask him to leave. At this point I called ACAR to see if they could come out and look at the repair. They were there in less than a hour and quickly assessed the work. ACAR said the other guys had installed a universal capacitor that ended up costing $400.00 and $150.00 to install. ACAR also said the capacitor that was designed for this size motor would have cost around $250.00 (he had one on his truck). It also appears as though the first repair guy left a wire loose that would have failed in the near future maybe in hopes of getting a call back for the new unit. ACAR tightened up all wires, completely checked the a/c for electrical conformity and freon levels and said everything looks good and should last for a long time as it is right now. Big thumbs up for the good guys here and I'll be a customer for life. If you are in need of a repair or tune-up of your a/c, these guys are very helpful and honest. If you are looking for repair company that could help in the future, I strongly suggest putting their number in your phone so when the need arises, you at least have someone trustworthy and save yourself from dredging through the internet adds. At my home, they showed up on time and told me what I expected - that we'd hit the point where fixing my 25 year old unit was no longer worthwhile. They gave me a great price for a new unit, helped with financing, and then - complete surprise - asked me when they could bring out my loaner unit. They were out a few hours later, took the old unit out, and set us up with a loaner ac unit so we wouldn't have to be uncomfortable while we waited for the install. Best of all, it was just great customer service - no extra charge. Good people are busy - if you have to wait a day or two for them to get to you, it's worth it!

Our unit is about 13 years old and the fan went on it. Dave came out charged us 600 to replace the fan and the capacitor including the parts.
