They were scheduled to arrive between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, but they didn't show up until the very end of that window. Once they finally assessed the job, they immediately tried to tack on an additional $150, citing issues with my pipes and hinting that the total cost could easily rise even further. To make matters worse, they claimed they were completely unable to open the water meter cover, insisting that I would have to call the city to handle it. They even went as far as to claim they had tried everything, including prying it open with a crowbar. However, shortly after they left, my son arrived home, walked out to the meter, and opened it by hand with absolutely no effort. I decided to check my home security cameras, and the footage confirmed that they never even attempted to open the meter as they had claimed. It really felt like they simply didn't want to perform the work they had committed to, so they made up excuses to avoid it. I ended up hiring another plumbing company the very next day, and they were able to complete the entire project--including the additional pipe work and even cutting into the wall--for a total of just $400. The second company was transparent, efficient, and professional. I admit that I neglected to officially cancel my follow-up appointment with Jerrell's, but given how the initial situation was handled and the dishonesty regarding the water meter, I honestly didn't believe they would even show up again.
