This place is adorable! Love the decor inside. Like the concept of a neighborhood spot that serves…read morecoffee in the morning & beer/wine in the afternoon. Unfortunately had a very disappointing experience visiting the Board Room for the first time, and most of the issues lay in the fact that it was severely understaffed, with only one employee working every single station in the place - registers, drive-thru, drinks, and making food. This poor girl could not handle a small rush of 8-10 customers. We waited at least 30+ min for our coffee and probably another 15 min for two breakfast sandwiches. Their menu is impossible to find online and they don't have any social media updates indicating seasonal options. Even once you get inside, the menu is on three screens on the back wall, and difficult to read due to tons of options and small print. My biggest issue, however, was the fact that there were absolutely zero descriptions of any of the drinks! Many of the specialty drinks had fun names, but no clue what was in each one. I certainly did not want to stand at the register asking the only employee to explain each one. Went with the cold brew flight, which was also disappointing. You choose 4 different syrups and have them topped off with like 2oz of cold brew and whip cream. I guess if you hate coffee and want something super sweet this might work, but I couldn't taste the cold brew at all (also an indication it wasn't very strong). My husband got a s'mores mocha, which was delicious, but took 35 min to receive. Breakfast sandwiches on everything bagels were tasty, especially liked the chipotle mayo they give you as a sauce on the side. If I'm going to wait 45 min for food though I would go out to brunch at a nice sit down place instead. Don't stop here if you're in a rush to get anywhere. Ample parking in the lot outside, drive thru available too.

Was staying at the Olive Van for work trip. Decided to do dinner at the hotel restaurant…read more Place is very nice although when we first walked in, we chose a bar top table and it was filthy. Took them a while to clean it to be quite honest. I just didn't feel like they were doing a good job of busing and cleaning tables when people were emptying. Our table had been bussed but not cleaned and I know it had been sitting there for at least five minutes cause I watched it. Once we got seated, again felt the service was pretty slow. Took a long time for the guy to take our drink order and he walked by the table multiple times. Then when he finally did take the drug order, took a really long time to get drinks. In general, our server was just not very efficient. This occurred throughout the entire meal and often had to ask for things multiple times. For example, when I wanted to get another beer, it took almost 10 minutes. In that time he came to the table twice and on the third time, I finally said, did you get that beer for me and he had totally forgotten evidently. That was a fourth time he had forgotten something that was ordered. When we did actually get food and drinks, the food itself was very very good. The walleye cakes were excellent. My pasta was well cooked and had great flavor. The carrot cake martini was very interesting but definitely tasted like a carrot cake. I think they just need to work on their service, a lot. The quality of the food and the quality of the restaurant deserves much better servers.

Beautiful decor, nice bar and a separate large dining room. The restaurant was virtually empty but we were told there were no booths available. We were seated quickly in the center of the main room. Our server was great. He gave app and entree recommendations, and allowed us time to view the menu. We started with the crab cakes. They were good, heavy on filler though. Two of the three were very dark on the bottom. For entrees we both had the chicken Parmesan. Mine was overcooked and the breading literally fell off, leaving me with unseasoned, dry chicken breast. My colleague's was perfect. Our server did get me a new order, but after waiting I'd lost my appetite. Can't say I'd go back, there are probably better options in the area.

Located in Lakota, N.D. right off of and visible from hwy 2 Sunlac inn Lakota is a very cool…read morehangout spot kind of easy to miss with our busy everyday lives. But it is a long brick building that was built in the 60's by locals and runs long way from East to West. It has two flag poles out front one with American flag and second with North Dakota flag, if you look you will find it located right East of Dollar General. I've previously was employed by the business almost a year ago its been already time sure does fly by when you're busy living. But like the first review states I agree with, you can not find any better food while I was employed there. They have some local competition now a days but I wish the best for everybody local to thrive. They do have 10 electronic pull-tab machines to play on but unfortunately do not any longer have the black jack available :( that table brought in a lot of business was sad to see it go. The newer staff (manager Marla, and possible assistant manager Calvin, bartender Tyler & Aaron, front desk Paul & Mark, & housekeepers Margie and family, plus cook Aj) are very sweet and friendly people. Always nice smiles and warm welcomes that makes you feel right at home! I myself no longer drink alcohol but do remember many many many good memories in this building and will never forget the friendships I have made along the way. It's a 3 in 1 business, it is a motel/cafē/bar all in one. It's the perfect hide out/getaway that will leave you with an amazing experience in my opinion. Hunters come and book rooms weeks in advance every year starting from Oct 1st to Dec 1st. That is their busiest time of year bar none. But they are very loyal and return every year, over the years I've built friendships & memories with alot of them also. I miss that alot :( but my journey at this business has unfortunately ended do to lack of sobriety. I miss it everyday and wish things turned out differently and that is the honest truth. Go and support these people and you will not regret it I promise. You will have memories for years to come! Tell them that the old bartender Joshua Linskie sent you and they will take care of you Lol... thank you and don't forget to stay humble my friends and Godspeed to us all!
