Very friendly welcome by owner. Few minutes walk to the beach. Not actually in Rotorua - about 10km away. But still on the lake. Closest town is Ngongotaha - just a few hundred metres down the Road. Their hot pools were just everyday hot tubs and tiny swimming pool, far too small for the size of site! Digging your own pool on the beach is not what it seems, again very small area! Children's playground dangerously close to a real hot spring with very inadequate fencing! Facilities left a lot to be desired!

It was a nice quiet stay and the check-in process was very expedient. The staff was also very nice. I did not have a res here, just popped in and they were able to accommodate me immediately. They even recommended a place nearby for me to grab a burger and explained how to navigate the grounds and the hours of the pools. Very nice and affordable stay in Rotorua!

Maybe its not popular to bring thru the money needed for the upgrade. The price is good and relevant for what it is. I wouldn't be happy paying more though. The pools could have done with one being a little hotter, there seemed to be very little difference between the two hotter ones so I just stayed in the hottest one the whole time. The main pool will be popular in Summer for the campground. I don't think I would go back when I think other hot pools in the North island are much better.

I found it to be a kid friendly, safe environment. My young grandson loved the playground and everyone enjoyed the natural hot pools and bbq facilities. We were well looked after by the friendly staff and I compliment them for metaculously upkeeping the gardens, pools and cabin rooms and supplying fresh towels every day. This place is worth visiting, put it on your list of places to stay.
