We stayed in their rooms and now the cabin with our three teenage boys. Cabin has a loft and all rooms have fully supplied kitchens. We stay there every time. Cabin could easily sleep three couples. The rooms come with one or two beds and can have a joining room. At Christmas time, we had a Christmas tree in our room over looking the lake. Large communal area for bonefire. Boat access nearby below resort with docks, I believe. We love it for hunting season.

We had reservations & he had the rooms ready & the heat going when we got there. We stayed in the motel part (not the "cabins"). It was off-season (late November) and the rates even lower than we expected. Now, don't expect 5-star, new construction or modern decor. This place is right out of the 1970's. BUT, it is incredibly clean, super comfy & spacious. We were in a room with a kitchenette & everything was sparkling clean, there were plenty of dishes if we'd wanted to eat, and a full sized fridge. Part of my family stayed in the end room, which we think was originally the owners quarters, and it is HUGE! Full kitchen with dinette, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms & a living room with couch, sofa & 2 recliners (recliners in the sofa & couch too!). 6 stayed comfortably but we could have all stayed in that room. I would recommend this place 100%, on or off season. Affordable, spacious, clean & such friendly staff.

It was always difficult to get a spot to park your RV, it was kept immaculately clean, Bob always went out of his way to make you feel at home. When he decided to retire, he sold the lease to Betty Sue Roberts, who hired managers that has allowed the property to go into disrepair, much of the lake around the property is now inaccessible, The rental facilities are almost uninhabitable. Three years ago we sold our RV and decided to start staying in the cabins out there. We could not use the hot water. Every time you would start the hot water, the Cabin would fill with the smell of sulfur which anyone knows smells exactly like rotten eggs. During checkout, we reported the issue and they assured us they would fix the problem. Before checking in last year, we asked and where told the issue had been resolved, and that we would not encounter that problem again. We were lied to, and the smell was much worse, and when we asked to switch cabins, they told us the other cabins were under repair and we could not get a refund. Me and my family sadly will never stay here again. This year we ended up staying at Nemo Bridge resorts, I am thankful that we found a new place to stay, it is so much nicer and a lot more clean and had roughly 6 times the amount of lake accessibility with a beach. I also want to mention that we are not the only ones that have watched this resort fall to disrepair, every year since the lease transferred to Ms. Roberts less and less people stay at this resort. I do not recommend anybody to stay here! This place is great if you have an emergency with your boat, but if you're looking for lodging whole on a vacation or just a getaway, you don't want to feel like you're slumming it in an alley somewhere. I have provided a picture of the beach from Nemo Bridge resort, Do not hesitate to give them a call...

Following the greeting, we had the pleasure of an audio session of Jerry Springer for the next six hours. The paper thin walls ensured that we could hear every curse, slur, and slap of the domestic abuse ridden chronicle that unfolded next to us throughout the night. When this chapter came to a close around 4am we thought the night might be over, but luckily Telephone Tammy filled the next hour and a half with her riveting telenovela drama that kept us at the edge of our bed until 5:30am. At the end of our stay, we awoke entertained and refreshed on two hours of sleep, ready to take on the day. Stories of the Owl Haven will surly live on in our family for many years to come!

ADORABLE. This…read moreplace is no joke well appointed, just like all the other postcard cabins! We went to one in Barber Creek, MI like 4 years ago and we really loved it then--but they've upped their game since then. There are complimentary snacks, s'mores kits, and water now. (Before, I think the s'mores kit was like $6.) I love that it's dog friendly (they had bowls) and our doggo enjoyed being outdoors for a little before demanding to go back in to the air conditioning. (She's a city dog.) To be fairs it was like in the mid-90s the weekend we were there... The one down side to this particular property is that there really isn't a cute town nearby to explore. At least not one where you can get brunch, coffee, and drinks. We had to drive at least two hours to get to a decent dinner :/.

This was appealing because it's all about spending time in nature but without the sacrifice! I believe this location opened about a year ago. These "Getaways" are popping up within 2 hours of major cities. This one is called "Ozark Highlands" and/or the Kansas City Getaway. It is a big property and I was impressed with how much space is between each cabin. Even with 49 cabins on site you're likely to only be able to spot one maybe two through the woods from your own cabin. They ask that guests consider all day and all night quiet time so your neighbors aren't out blasting music and ruining your peaceful stay. Inside we found a table with seating for two, a very comfortable queen size bed (the view from the window is really all it's cracked up to be on their website!!) A galley kitchen area (sink, two burner stovetop and mini fridge) and a separate bathroom with just toilet and stall shower. Very small. Makes some cruise ship rooms feel huge! But also really well designed with a spot for our luggage and room to store our empty cooler and bags out of sight. Outside we had a picnic table, a set of Adirondack chairs and a firepit with a cooking grate. We did all of our cooking inside, if you plan to cook on the outdoor grill bring a brush! I think it's more suited to placing a Dutch oven on than steaks, but to each their own. We didn't take any interior photos before we brought our stuff in and afterwards it felt too cluttered to take cute pictures. Work your Instagram magic BEFORE you unload your vehicle. Hot Tips : 1) There are two cow crossings that are deep enough to make your car bottom out and scrape the underside. Don't go with a low rider! 2) The mini fridge doesn't have a freezer section, plan accordingly.
