It was closing in on the end of the 'season' for them and it showed. (The price didn't come down for the end of season though.) Most every feature, water fountain, back yard, hot tub area, bar area outside looked uninviting. We chose not to sit down in the back yard because the chairs where so filthy. And that was just the common areas. The location is awful. Right on one of the busiest corners in the town. If you were on the front porch area you had to stop talking until traffic passed to carry on a conversation. Non stop traffic. With the window air conditioner in our room, it's like an open window to the traffic noise. And let's not forget the trains that run all hours of the day and night blowing their horn through at least a dozen intersection through town! Good luck trying to sleep. The breakfast was skimpy. Not like the pictures on their website. The pictures are apparently when they first started their business. It's apparently been down hill from there. There are junky looking vehicles parked off to the side of the property. The bedroom plug-in was so old and worn out that when I tried to plug in my phone charger it fell out. You get the picture. Don't get me wrong, Dave and Michelle seem like nice people. For what they charge and what you get, I would not recommend it. I would not recommend staying in Palisade at all because of the trains. Visit, yes; Staying, no.

This was our first experience at this property…read more There was plenty of parking and we were welcomed in by the desk staff. Check-in was smooth. I had booked two rooms as we were traveling with another couple. They let us each pay for our own rooms separately at check-in. The rooms are very nice. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Our rooms both had mini fridge and microwave which was a nice touch. The views were beautiful. There was an evening reception where we were offered a glass of the wine from the property vineyard. We sat out on the porch to enjoy the wine and the evening. The pool and hot tub are well maintained and were quite enjoyable. This was a great location for our stay. I would come back.

But if you are intentionally hoping for something more remote and quiet with home grown hospitality, you will likely love this place. Know before you go (as of spring/summer 2024): The hotel has an arrangement with professionals who offer massages and facials. Ask them about it before you check in, because it may be difficult to get appointment if you are interested during your stay. Costs range between $85 and $140 depending on the amount of time and type of service. Couples massages are available. And the professionals come to you! One of the wonderful things is the vineyard. You drive past the grapes to reach the hotel and get excellent views of Mt. Garfield, as the hotel is right near the base. The freeway is the only separation, but you cannot hear the freeway traffic once inside (at least not on the far end of the hotel, which is where we stayed). The hotel certainly has more of a dated feel, but it is lovely and has been treated with apparent care -- and it has most everything you need. There is a small fitness center, guest laundry (cost is $1.75 per wash and $1.50 per dry), a tiny business center opened 24/7, reliable WIFI, and a pool with a hot tub on site. The pool and hot tub were closed during the late spring/early summer 2024 for renovations and have since reopened. I didn't have a chance to enjoy either during the stay as both were closed. Apparently, poolside lunch is also open when the pool is open. Caroline's Restaurant is on site, and a hot breakfast is included in your stay at what is called the Tapestry Lounge (a section of the restaurant). It is a fine breakfast with eggs, meats, fruits and juice. Ample offerings. There is also a wine reception held daily in the evening -- this is a vineyard after all. And there is also complementary coffee and tea 24/7. Don't miss the gift shop. In addition to having all the essentials (like snacks, pills and detergent), there is local dessert and some specialty items that would make for decent gifts for older adults. The team is extremely cordial and helpful, also resourceful, especially if you are not familiar with the region. And just up the road is a peach shack that sells excellent peach ice cream and other tasty treats. I highly recommend visiting.

Amenities are basic, but adequate and clean. Breakfast was available for a duration of 4 hours (until 10:00 am) which allowed us to sleep in a little. Both hot and cold foods were available. Our room was a King bed, Suite, which was two separate rooms. Each room had a TV with independent heater/air conditioning controls. We were next to the elevator. The people walking past our room bothered our dog, but we couldn't hear them. Bathroom only had one sink, and shower only (no tub). Eater flow in shower was excellent! Staff in the breakfast area was very helpful when trying to assemble foods for varied diets. WE WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN!

The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful ; so staff wasn't the issue. The room was clean but, not the suite I booked online. It was a regular king room. I was too tired to go back down stairs. My husband said it's only one night!!!! Everything was going well until I was awakened by noise from the wall. It wasn't people next door. Sounded like squirrels or pigeons scratching trying to get out... also the ice machine across the hall constantly going off... As long as the air was blowing I didn't hear too much of nothing. Once it stopped that's all I heard!!!! Haven't went down for breakfast looks like I'm not gonna make it... The hotel was clean and neatly decorated. I'm not sure if I'd stay again at this particular location. The price was not cheap for a night and if I'm gonna have interrupted sleep I might as well stay somewhere else...

He was very nice, seeing as we should've known when check in was already. When we met Sam and Judy, they were extremely hospitable and kind. Asking if there were any dietary restrictions for the breakfast, showing us our room and bathroom, and just making us feel at home. The place was spotlessly clean, and very nicely decorated. After being shown around, my man and I prepared to go for a hike. We found that there was no lock on the bedroom door, but I pointed out that it was a Bed and Breakfast, and there was a lock with a combination on the main door to the place itself. I wasn't too worried about the one other couple that was staying there, and I trusted the owners since this IS their business. They aren't going to be snooping through our stuff or stealing or they wouldn't still be in business. The bathroom for our room was huge, and the bedroom was comfy. The bed is really my only complaint. It wasn't very comfortable, and must've had a bedbug cover or something similar over the mattress, since I woke up with my back sweating a few times. But neither I nor my man were feeling very well for some reason on this day, so I don't know if a comfier bed would've made much of a difference. The breakfast the next morning was enjoyable and filling. Being a small Bed and Breakfast, the only time allotted for breakfast was 8 AM. This probably would've been a problem if we weren't planning on leaving pretty early to head to Moab the next day anyway, as I can't usually stomach breakfast until around 9 AM. So be prepared for an early, but really good, breakfast. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. The ambiance, food and lovely owners greatly outweighed the cost of a night's stay.

Junk on neighbors property is not appealing and really looks trashy! Bedroom not cleaned or freshened up each day. View advertised has been blocked by new housing project...need to update! Door to bedroom can not be locked when you are out for the day. Breakfast was okay, but nothing exciting! The owners were nice, and are trying hard to make a success of turning their home into a B&B. After staying in over 20 B & B establishments in several states, I can not recommend this place for a relaxing, restful stay!

So the next morning I packed up my bags and headed to breakfast thinking I'd eat and they could move me. After sitting through 20 minutes of some kind of religious ministries show they had on in the breakfast area (I much prefer CNN for breakfast) I went to the front desk and said I'd like to check out. I explained the internet issue and they said sorry have a nice trip. What? No "could I offer you another room? Did you try the data port?" anything? Nope. So I went next door to the Hampden and checked in. Same owner but maybe it's the guys from Hilton looking in on them the I's are dotted and the T's are crossed here. Both wifi and cat5. Yippeee! Hopefully CNN for breakfast!
