Don't stay here. The forced air is old and loud. The elevator is loud and vibrates and hums. Our stay here was good with some hiccups. The ethernet cable was broken in the room and they replaced it right away. And when I went to adjust the thermostat, it fell off the wall. It was missing screws and was loose. When I called the front desk, she asked if I wanted it fixed!??? Yep. The location is fantastic and you can walk to many restaurants, stores and other activities. We used to live in Grand Junction and decided to try this location instead of the Residence Inn. The room has a quiet heater and the A/C is a little louder but not bad. Hopefully the thermostat stays on the wall. The fridge is very small and no freezer. You have to push the button every 2 hours for cold. There is a microwave and a coffee maker. Very few hangers in the room - they really need more. We purchased more at Target. Our room was very clean. Housekeeping is on request (by 10am) or every 3rd day. The bed is comfortable but the elastic in the fitted sheet and mattress pad cover was worn and super stretchy. Every night it pulled off and folded in on me. After 2 nights I asked for a new fitted sheet and they put one on. It did the same thing and I don't move much at night. So annoying and I couldn't sleep properly when the sheet kept waking me up. Who designs these rooms? I always wonder at the poor decisions. The toilet area is separate and they added a hook to hang the hand towel. Right over the toilet paper so you can drip water on it. There was plenty of wall space on the right side of the sink. The shower shelf is too low so your toiletries stand in water and you have to bend to pick them up. The shower pressure was excellent - one of the best I have seen in a hotel. There is a bar in the lobby that usually has live music on Wednesdays and Fridays. The days were changed during our stay so we missed the music. There is a very small pool, a workout room with treadmills / steppers / free weights and a small business center. Internet via Ethernet was very fast and the enhanced via wi-fi was very good. Staff are friendly and responsive. read more

What a nice surprise! We stopped into Grand Junction to simply to take a rest from a long drive. What we found was a vibrant downtown and a newly renovated hotel to boot. Surrounded by an abundance of great restaurants within walking. The hotel is adjacent to bike and running paths that run extensively through the town. The hotel has been completely renovated and is immaculate. Amenities include Wi-Fi, business printing area, swimming pool, gym, and a full-service lobby bar with live music on the weekends. The service is absolutely fabulous. A shout out to Dee who was working at reception as she immediately sorted out a booking error (ours) and made it right. A highly recommended hotel for anyone looking to stay in the area. Pets are accommodated at this property and there is a small overnight fee for on-site parking. read more

Location was in a good spot in the little town, service was great too, but the walls were thin.....and the space between the floor ceiling wasn't insulated. The family above us had a little kid running all over from about 5am until 7am or so when we called their room and asked them if they could get their kid to stop running around. That said, the family was nice enough to stop their kid from running around and we were able to get a few winks in silence before having to get up. The room was a little below average. Not the most comfortable bed, pillows not too great, but it got us through the night. I wouldn't choose to stay here again, unless in a jam. No more than one night though! It could have gotten a better review if their nightly rate was lower, but for what we paid, expected more. read more

We had a great time here. Rooms: We got 2 queens and a sofa bed suite. It was big and roomy. We had 5 girls and liked how the showers were separated from the toilet. We were here for a wedding. Room was clean and comfortable. AC worked well. TV was small and in an odd place. You get a mini fridge and a microwave. Amenities: There's a small gym and small indoor pool. You get breakfast in the morning which consists of scrambled eggs, another protein either sausage, gravy, etc, fresh fruit, bagels, waffle maker, cereal and breads. It was a pretty good breakfast, lots of options for a hotel. Probably one of the better ones. They have happy hour at the bar daily (except Sundays). Staff: staffs were nice. We had no problem with any staff members. They were courteous. There's also a free shuttle that takes you to the airport. read more

For as cute of a town as Grand Junction is, the hotel situation leaves much to be desired. While there are options, they're all essentially the same level of experience. And that's fine! I don't mind a SpringHill or a Residence Inn... they're A-OK. The suite in which I stayed had a separate shower + sink/toilet and corner sink. So that's actually really nice when you're rooming with someone else. I wish we had the same at home, to be honest. And kudos to the magnificent water pressure in the shower. A morning breakfast buffet during COVID just doesn't feel right. The hotel did all the right things to ensure safety (wrapping bagels in Saran wrap, limiting the juice machine to water only) but most of the patrons were not familiar with staying 6' apart. I would avoid that next time. The location of the hotel is great, right in the middle of the shops/restaurants/bars, etc. And it looked as though there's event space in the hotel for special occasions. read more

Don't get room 411. The laundry machines woke us up with a vibrating floor and bed. And the floors and walls are thin. We heard everything and walking and all bumps. Lovely hotel in a great location. Lovely area for a stroll through the charming downtown district of Grand Junction. The pros: location, clean, comfortable beds, nice contemporary design & layout in rooms, large rooms and suites with fridge. The cons: complimentary breakfast was seriously lacking, & practically no seating. Also, very LOUD at night. The location is really the highlight of this hotel. If you like to go for walks and you would like to see the lovely side of Grand Junction then I suggest staying here or across the street at Fairfield Inn. Which happens to be their sister hotel ( both marriotts.). The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms were beautiful. We had a suite with a separate sitting area and two separate rooms for bathroom and shower. The decor is very nice, and perfect for either business or pleasure. Breakfast was quite awful. There's no other way to put it. The undercooked bacon was literally dripping in oil. Oatmeal was way over cooked and stuck to the sides of the container. The English muffins... well they were so stale, I thought they were pre-toasted already! Everything was quite overpicked fast so most fruit was gone except for green bananas, apples, yogurt cups, and powdered eggs- which no one was touching. Needless to say, we opted to go elsewhere for breakfast. Luckily there are quite a few options nearby. The room was really large, with a sofa, fridge, and a tv that allows you to login to your own Netflix account etc. (lovesd this for my Toddler!). My tips; Our alarm clock went off at 6 am. Be sure to check this before you fall asleep unless you want an unexpected awakening! The staff were very nice also. The maid does come early so be sure to put out your do not disturb sign if you are not an early riser. Also, the train goes by several times during the night and is quite loud- train horn blowing and all. The walls are thin so we could hear our neighbor snoring all night too. It may be worth it to request a high floor and no neighbors if possible. There's plenty of parking, free, in the back of the hotel however for those who do not want to long walk: You can park in the front at night regardless of their signs. You just have to get the parking pass to put in your window after you check in. read more

The ice machine on our floor was not working but the one the floor below ours worked. Someone was drilling which was loud but this took only 30-45 minutes and at least it's good to know they're staying on top of maintenance. Friendly housekeeping staff. Good sized room with modern design and comfortable bed. Lamps above each side of the bed are a nice touch for reading or crossword puzzles. Decent sized closet with mirrored door. Nice sitting area for reading and adjacent desk area for working or writing. Sleek glass shower with separate powder room is excellent so that one need not wait to use the restroom while someone else is showering. Good value for the price. Would come again. This is another Marriott hotel nestled in the middle of downtown Grand Junction, CO. The style and decor are very modern and colorful with a summer vibe. There is outdoor seating as well. No complaints about the staff: they're very inviting and are quick to provide suggestions on food or things to do. Breakfast is offered from 6:30-9:30 and is the usual fare of most big chain hotels. There is a bar that closes around 10 with an "exclusive" lounge called the Marlo Lounge with an extensive cocktail menu. Seems like just another place to sit and drink except it's surrounded by turquoises curtains for extra pizzaz. Rooms are clean, well stocked, and the maid service does a good job. Although I'm used to paid parking in big cities I do think it's ridiculous that they charge $6 a night for parking in a very small city even if you're a Marriott Rewards member. Overall, this is a decent place to stay in GJ. read more

Quality of service and ammenities did not meet the expectations of a three-star hotel. We stayed for three nights during the middle of the week and paid around $170/night. The cost, brand name, location and three-star designation all suggest a superior level of service and quality. This was not the case. The stay was honestly on par with a nicer Quality Inn or Days Inn. SERVICE: One of the distinguishing features of a three-star hotel is service and personalized guest attention. Here, they have one person staffing the front desk. Often, the desk was simply unattended for large spans of time. Or I would wait for other guests and/or phone calls to stop to get attention. We were rarely greeted or acknowledged, and the one time we did ask for something we were made to feel brash for asking. We wanted to stay three nights but we couldn't get the same room for all three. On the third day we had to pack up and move to a different room. When we asked that our luggage be transferred to the new room the desk staff was flustered and non-commitial. "Well, we usually don't do that... But... I think we could this time... I'll check and see..." Really? Hemming and hawing about simple luggage service? Worse, the room we moved into was much smaller, had one bed instead of two and the bathroom door was coming off the track yet it cost $30 more! I did argue this point to management and they agreed to match the previous night's price but it should have been a given. AMMENITIES: The rooms are clean and modern. The shower is excellent (no tubs), and there's nice attention to detail in fixtures, lamps and outlets. There is a notable lack of usable counter-space in the bathrooms or places to hang towels; a victim of the modernist aesthetic. Toilet and sink in a seperate room from shower and sink #2 which I appreciated. Toilet paper is cheap and very rough. Bed is poor; literally an air mattress. It's like a Sleep Number bed but without the ability to adjust the pressure; a bit like camping. If you love a Sleep Number bed set to a saggy 55, you'll have some great nights. Note: "King" beds here are actually "California King" so they're much narrower. The breakfast had a couple bright spots (bagels and muffins), but was mostly the same sad stuff of a Quality Inn or even Motel 6. Powdered instant eggs, the same tired, mealy sausages served day after day. One waffle maker. Yogurt. Hard boiled eggs. From-concentrate juices out of a machine. Nice lobby and setting, but food is nowhere near the quality you'd expect. Pool is tiny. Perhaps two adults could use it at the same time. Whirlpool is a glorified bathtub. Not a terrible stay, but the value does not come close to meeting the cost. The location is great for walkability and the place is clean and modern looking. Yet service is lackluster and frankly a bit combative (besides housekeeping). Breakfast is relatively poor, the beds are air mattresses, and the swimming pool/whirlpools were a joke. Not a great experience with the Marriott brand. read more

It's hard to go to thw bathroom in the middle of the night without waking up others in the room, due to the window on the bathroom's sliding door. For the price, this is a great deal considering you could stay in one of the run-down fleabag motels near the airport for the same rate. Cons: Very limited parking available, and a sketchy element (aggressive pan-handlers) out in the parking lot in the wee hours of the morning. Arrogant dog-owners with entitlement issues swarm this place. The music in the lounge can be heard three stories up. If you are there on a Friday or Saturday and need to sleep, ask to be put in an out-of-the-way room. The rooms are laid out really weird, so there is really no way to watch TV comfortably from the bed without craning your neck. Pro-Tip: The pedestal the TV's are on in the rooms move. read more

It would have been nice to have a welcome card in the room giving pool location and hours, and restaurants nearby. On the bright side, the free breakfast was great. The room was huge. The location was in the heart of downtown. The workout room was 24 hours. The staff was friendly. All things considered, though, stay elsewhere. We wrote to the inn with our issues, and to corporate (Marriott), and didn't even receive the courtesy of a reply. read more

First the sheet on one of the queen beds had a stain. Ew. Then there was a moldy odor in the room. Why? The shower had mold all along the ceiling. I thought there was an earthquake a few times in the morning as the glass partition and floor shook (we were on the top floor). And the cheap furniture is so scratched up that I have seen better in thrift stores. But if you don't mind all that, at least you are close to the very quaint Maun Street. read more

This Hotel is awesome. Rooms are spacious and modern, hotel is centered in the best part of the city and the rates are reasonable. Cookies at check-in are a nice touch if you have a weak constitution (or just hadn't eaten anything all day( and the lounge is awesome. The gentleman at the check in desk was professional and friendly and the hotel is clean and modern. Only one issue: the bartender lady is crankier than a 76 year old woman who lived a miserable life, had gout four times and was forced to watch "Leaving Las Vegas" every day prior to starting her shift. I've never encountered a more bitter and depressed woman in my life. I ordered a drink and heard nothing but complaints about other patrons out of her cake hole and both times I walked by during the course of the night she was ranting about other customers. I used to think welfare was a bad idea, but now think that at least it protects the public from having to witness miserable people like her. The group of maids who exited all at the same time, by contrast, all looked very happy and cheerful. 'Promote' one of them to bartender and see the place come alive. read more

Normally we LOVE the Marriott, but this location was different. I had no issues with the condition of the room, but I felt very unsafe after dealing with the night clerk. Not only was he visibly on something, but he was barely able to communicate. Now, I normally try not to judge someone based on their appearance. So when I saw an EXTREMELY underweight night clerk with unorthodox hair, I didn't want to automatically assume anything because lots of males suffer from anorexia, not just women. When I got up close to him I saw that his eyes were very bloodshot, but I still didn't assume anything because it was late, the guy has to work when others are sleeping, he might just be sleep deprived. I used to work nights so I get it, but then once he started speaking it was clear he was on some sort of drug or pills. I am not talking about alcohol or marijuana. Up close he looked even skinnier and his skin was so pale it was clear. Not sure how this goes unnoticed, or maybe the boss is on drugs too? He was not communicating in a way that seemed human, it's hard to explain. It was like he was a remote controlled robot whose batteries had run out. I wanted to say something to his manager or a security guard but there was not a single other staff member present. This is when I started to feel pretty uneasy and I realized the guy had been seeing people's credit cards on top of it all. I am going to be monitoring my transactions very closely because I don't trust my information in the hands of the person working the front desk. I'm not sure if they can pull up card information on the computer, but I'm not going to take any chances. Over all, this put a bad taste in my mouth for Grand Junction. If the employees working at the MARRIOTT are on drugs then what does that say about the town? I actually do think there is a drug problem in the greater Grand Junction area, but I didn't think it was as bad as it is. I would maybe expect that from a motel 6 or extended stay motel, but not the Marriott. The Marriott is normally a place where you know everything will be fine, maybe the other location would've been better but I'm not sure. This is the second year in a row that I have stayed in the SpringHill Suites in Grand Junction and I can honestly say that I don't see myself staying anywhere else when I am in this neck of the woods. My mother, grandmother and I recently took a weekend up on the Western slope and decided to stay here for the night. The room was perfect and fit the three of us great. The couch folds out and has a partial room divider which was nice because I felt like I had my own space. For a fold out, the mattress was pretty comfy, too! My grandma raved about how soft her bed was and thought that the modern decor was something else. It was great to see her feeling pampered in the hot tub as well. SpringHill Suites employs some of the nicest staff I have encountered in the hotels I have stayed in. The front desk recommended great places for dinner and also offered some great tips for shopping in the area. As if all of the above-mentioned are not reason enough to come back, their complimentary breakfast was super yummy! I will definitely be back. read more

Really good: * super-comfy bed (I'm talking absurdly comfortable) * very good free breakfast (waffles, eggs, bacon/sausage, lots of cereals, muffins, breads) * HD channels in your room * good-sized rooms with the bed separated from the sitting area by a small desk and sliding glass window * great location in Downtown GJ * fast wi-fi * allows dogs ($20/night) * very friendly staff * fair rates Somewhat bad: * They tried too hard to make the rooms trendy and hip. I guess it's fine to have the toilet and shower in separate rooms, but unnecessary. Also, the sliding glass door to the toilet in our room was really loud as you slide it open. If you're sharing the room with anyone, it will probably wake them up if they're still sleeping. * Stairs from the guest room floors open outside and you can't come back in that way. * $5 a night for parking??? In Grand Junction? That is beyond ridiculous, and worthy of losing a whole star. Also, the parking lot is pretty small. We were here for a slow few winter nights... but I'd imagine that if you were here on a Thursday during the summer the Farmer's Market crowd would have you parking several blocks away. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! The circumstances of my visit weren't ideal: last-minute trip to visit a sick family member; the weather had gone from 60 degrees and pleasant the day before snow flurries and below freezing temps; and the airline decided my baggage wanted to stay in Denver for an extra couple of hours. So when I finally dragged my tired, never-having-driven-in-snow, and worried self into their beautifully lit and wonderfully quirky lobby just before midnight, and was cheerily greeted by the front desk staff, I felt like I'd been rescued. The room itself was inviting, spacious and had almost all the amenities I could want. The bed was so comfy (or maybe I was that tired) that I fell asleep soon after my shower. Speaking of the shower, my only quibbles about the room are that the towels -- although plentiful -- were a bit thin, and that there was no lotion in the courtesy toiletries. In this day of restricted carry-on liquids and gels, I didn't pack lotion figuring the hotel would have a little bottle. With below-freezing temps my crepe-y old person skin really suffered. Fortunately there's nice grocery store kitty-corner to the hotel and I took care of that problem the next day. And my final irk is a very petty one and does not reflect well on me, but I'm all about full disclosure. When I bought my lotion at that nice grocery, I almost bought a bottle of beer to enjoy as I wound down that night. Before putting it in my basket though, I thought, "Hey! There's that really neato lounge in the lobby that sells beer, wine and cocktails! I'll just pick up a beer on my way to my room." Alas, the lounge was not open when I returned to the hotel at 8:15pm. Mind you, I like this hotel well enough to change my return reservation for the end of the month from the Fairfield to SpringHill. The value was good, and the staff really excellent. read more
