    Inn

Could not recommend more. Exploring around grand junction this past weekend and was looking for something that wouldn't break the bank. Free breakfast (nothing crazy but gets the job done) and the rooms are cute and CLEAN and spacious. If I return to grand junction/Fruita I will be staying here.

Road trippers - come here! The two of us and the pup got in about 5pm and did the virtual check in so we could get into our room right away. It was cute, clean, and had all the amenities we needed after a long road day. The shower has great water pressure and they provide all the essentials. It's not fancy by any means but it's that clean quintessential American inn! After we cleaned up we grabbed the pup and walked a short 8 minutes to downtown and found a local pub and had a great dinner. Just remember to bring your earplugs as the train and A/C units are quite loud but I still slept like a rock. We will be back!!

We stayed just one night traveling across the state the owners are an amazing young couple. They seem to cater to the cycling crowd that ride the many trails in the area. They even have a bike wash area so the dirt isn't tracked into the rooms, which are newly remodeled and SPOTLESS!! I would recommend this to anyone. My main regret is we only needed to stay one night. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT AND ADD IT TO YOUR PLACES TO STAY if near Fruita, CO. Arches or Canyon Lands national parks.

We absolutely loved this inn! We appreciated the special care given to the small details. It feels like a B&B. Extremely clean rooms and dog friendly! The towels were soft and breakfast was yummy. We appreciate the Public Goods bath supplies as we love that brand and use them in our home as well. No key cards & no in person check in made the process streamlined and convenient. Definitely will be our first choice next time we're in Fruita.

What? They only charge $55 for this awesomeness. Clean, big, convenient. There is even a table and chairs in the room. Okay fine, no fancy lobby or contanental breakfast but after a few days outside playing a big, warm room that is cheap and clean is perfect.

Nice spot to lay your head for the night. Quiet, cheaper than most. Didn't stay for the breakfast but I'd stay here again.

It was pretty quiet in the afternoon, but during the evening hours the hallway was understandably a bit more noisy. But everything quieted down again after 10 and I had a very comfortable sleep. This was on a weeknight so I do not know how it would be on a weekend or busier night...to be safe you can always request a room away from the elevators. But even when my room was in such a location I had a better experience here than at other hotels in rooms placed farther away from the elevators. I was surprised how respectful (or tired) the guests were as I heard almost no one although I knew there were people on either side of my room. The room itself was very clean and well lighted and the bed was very comfortable. The showers worked wonderfully, with plenty of hot water. There was a small refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast was decent with scrambled eggs and sausage patties, lots of muffins, cereal, and bagels, yogurt and fruit cups. The coffee was good and the counters and tables were kept very clean and organized. One of the drawbacks was the fitness room. The treadmill was not working and I didn't see a station with hand wipes or water or towels. Otherwise the gym was very nice, clean, and fairly large with free weights. I think there is an indoor pool but I didn't check it out. One great advantage of this hotel is its location, very close to the interstate and located right next to a Starbucks, gas station, McDonalds, several restaurants and even a dinosaur museum!

The bathroom had poop on the shower curtain, walls and toilets had not been cleaned. Very nicely annd respectfully I had informed a staff member who was working and they said they would have management contact me. I emailed the management the photos and never got a phone call. I waited until 9pm and decided to go back to the front desk. This time I spoke to the manager and she had stated, "Yes, I got your email, I am aware there's nothing I can do. Mr. Patel the owner is aware as well." Days later here we are with no company communication or even an apology. Not to mention the bed was very lumpy and if you sat on one side of the bed the mattress would elevate the other side. Definitely do not recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason. The one across the street was 10xs better! Lastly, the continental breakfast was only muffins and waffles

All rooms also have micro/fridge unlike the Super 8 over in Grand Junction. Real thin walls tho, the only real reason for points coming off. I got lucky with this overall but I heard a dude in the next room's phone convos off and on. Still, if you have to stay in Fruita specifically for one or two nights for some reason, I'd probably pick this one, from looking at other reviews the small handful of other hotels all seem to have the same noise issues but cost more, and this one is clean+comfy and well run at least. Just bring some earplugs or something.

A Surprisingly Cool Spot in Grand Junction…read more We decided to stay at The Melrose on a quick trip to Grand Junction--and I'm so glad we did. Everything is keyless (no front desk!), and you use your phone for entry and concierge contact. Super modern and smooth from check-in to checkout. The first night felt almost eerie... like I was the only guest! It was that quiet. I wandered around downtown, grabbed dinner, and when I came back, I started seeing a few other people. The outdoor area was a gem--relaxing by the firepit under the glow of the neon rose sign was the perfect way to unwind. Parking is conveniently located in the lot to the left of the building. It's paid, but easy to use through the app--averaging about $10 a day. By the second night, the energy picked up a bit. The bar onsite had opened--but closed before I could make it back out. Thankfully, on my final night, I caught the last 30 minutes and got to enjoy two fantastic cocktails served in these fun, festive ceramic mugs. The drinks felt handmade, and the bartenders were super friendly. Lots of guests and even locals seemed to enjoy the outdoor space with drinks in hand, which gave it a relaxed, social vibe. Inside, I stayed in a double room--huge, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was modern, and I appreciated having a fridge and coffee pot. The only tiny hiccup: it took me a bit to locate the outlets, but once I did, all good! We're actually heading back over the 4th of July weekend and booked a smaller room this time to compare. I'm hoping we can make it back in time to enjoy the cocktail bar again--though I do wish their hours were a bit longer. It closes pretty early, and it's definitely a feature worth lingering over. All in all, The Melrose is a fun, stylish stay with a great location and one of the better vibes I've experienced at a boutique spot like this. Would definitely recommend!

We were given room 101 which was right on the corner and so there were three doors that constantly slammed right by our room door as people came in and out. The vending and ice machine were right outside our door too so things were loud. I'd ask for a different room next time. There is no carpet on the first floor and our large dog is afraid of hard flooring so we had to keep his shoes on the whole time so he could get around the room and in and out to go to the bathroom. The room looked to be an accessible room. It was spacious. Though if someone uses a wheelchair, I could see some obstacles - The opening between the toilet and the sink is slim so it would be difficult to fit a chair between them. The toilet paper is hard to reach from the toilet for anyone. It's a tub so you'd need a shower chair. There is a railing in the shower. We had a king sized bed that was really very comfortable. There was a fridge and microwave and coffee pot. Some things in the room looked updated. Newish paint and floors. We liked the decor on the room walls. (See photos). The room was clean. Great water pressure in the shower. Water leaked out past the shower curtains onto the floor way too easily. The floor was soaked. The bathroom drain made weird noises on and off. Not sure if it was the shower, the sink or the pipes. The air condition worked well and helped to drown out the door slamming sound a bit. Which happened all morning long. We didn't check out the Continental breakfast because there is rarely anything we can eat at hotels. We eat healthy, plant based diets. You'd think it would be easy enough to offer sourdough bread, fresh cut fruit, dairy free oatmeal, potatoes without butter. I'd stay again if we passed through. Love that they are dog friendly.
