No idea where those good Google reviews are coming from! There's probably a "reputation management" filter in place. So thankful that on Yelp, they can't manipulate reviews like that. As guests, we encountered numerous problems: The internet is terrible, even though we had to pay an extra $50 - it still barely works. NO heated pool, which is why Snowbirds come to Florida and pay over $1500 per month for the winter. The management is arrogant, ignores complaints. The mail office service is very unfriendly, and if you ask questions, you get yelled at or ignored. We even lost 4 Amazon parcels, where the tracking clearly showed they were delivered. Maintenance is insufficient: other renters had to fix things themselves, many brought their own lawnmowers, some even do their own pest control because of so many fire ants. From the start, it's obvious: Williston Crossing Rv Resort is ALL about money. Everything costs extra- they even charge for renting a gate clicker. Conclusion: Despite seemingly good Google reviews, I cannot recommend Williston Crossing RV Resort. Save yourself money and hassle--do not book there. read more

This is what I'd call an upscale rv stop, and may be very good for somebody going to stay for an extended time. There are a lot of extended stayers and the park is huge with hundreds of RV spots and acreage. The grounds were gorgeous, littered with amenities, and a seemingly friendly and supportive staff. I think they really try to provide a great experience, but that comes at a cost. For the farthest, no frills spot can run you $50, then the prices all go up for "view" or having grass or shade or even pull throughs. Now this is what makes me drop a star (wish yelp had 1/2 stars) is that your going to charge me extra for being able to pull through? Or for having a couple of trees near me? Please with the gouging. In addition to that I read that their offered discounts (Good Sam, Military, pretty standard discounts) are only good for stays less than 7 days. I can understand these prices if we were beach side, or lakeside but we're not so your paying for the nice upkeep, grounds and amenities. They have the amenities beyond the basics covered. They have a huge recreation room, sewing room, exercise room with new equipment, tennis courts, beauty shop etc... I also noticed they have times of the year where its ADULTS ONLY. I guess they can afford to turn people away at the snow bird times of year. We weren't there during that time so it wasn't a problem. Everyone was friendly enough, waving all the time, personalized welcoming signs (I prefer privacy personally). Very quiet with lots of stuff to do and see. This place is in Williston which is a small town but you can find the basics in town and short ways away from the rv park. Gainesville is a short drive away (about 12 miles away) so that is a major selling point for me as far as location goes. read more

As I write this, take my review in context. This was the first RV resort we have ever been to, but given that this is our first stop on a 2 month trip, I am sure our experience will bring much more insight in days and weeks to come... That said, this RV park was beautiful. Lush and green, LOTS of shade, and big open spaces with beautiful facilities. The people were as nice as can be. From the lady in the office that truly welcomed us with wonderful hospitality, to the man that helped us back in for our first time ever. And our space was perfectly flat. We were only here a night, but would never hesitate to come back. read more

I called to inquire & was abruptly told everything I needed to know was on their website... Then hung up on. Okaaaaayyy. So then I read their website, with all their RULES, but and now I'm sorry I even wasted my time calling in the first place. Their pet restrictions are the most egregious. We have 3 elderly, mixed breed rescues that we travel with, in our fancy 2014 Keystone Alpine (so at least we would pass their RV Newness Rule!). The fact that you discriminate against defenseless animals tells me all I need to know about how you "care" about your customers. Very poor management choices. The good: large RV sites and easy to maneuver large rigs, friendly staff, well cared for grounds and facilities. The bad: it's located in Williston... Maybe 3 restaurants that aren't fast food and they aren't that great. Driving into Gainesville is not bad but be careful two lanes with plenty of nuts that pass on curves and solid lines. Finally, unless you commit to four months you aren't guaranteed a space. I was there working on a month to month contract. They called constantly to ask how long I was staying and to tell me that someone else wants my space. I finally committed so they'd leave me alone. Bottom line when I left the place was still 3/4's empty. Maybe it filled up the day I left but I doubt it. I stayed there mainly because it's the only choice if you want to be near Gainesville. read more

Well, I can't really review the place, since we never stayed. We tried to call several times yesterday. No answer. Today, we drove out here, promising our daughter an afternoon at the pool. Got here, and called the office. The lady on the phone said, "Do I hear kids?" My husband said, "Yes." She said, "Oh, we don't allow kids during our season!" We found no mention of this on the website. In fact, the website states that "parents are responsible for the actions of their children." I really wish we hadn't driven all the way out here to find that out. May I suggest you add to your site all those you discriminate against? I called her back to tell her the discrepancy on her website, and she said, "Oh, well, normally people call ahead of time and make reservations." I told her we had tried to call the day before, several times, and no one answered. She said, "Well, I don't understand that because our office is always open and there's 3 women working." I guess she was insinuating that I'm a liar in addition to turning me away because I have a child. And, honestly, it's not even so much that they have a policy against kids that upsets me; it's the manner in which she handled the situation. She was completely condescending and pretentious, which you might not expect, given the surroundings of the campground--a dilapidated, defunct, rotting strip mall with weeds growing out of the buildings. read more

READ their news letter. The POOL will be closed summer 2019. NO rate adjustment. With what they charge they should have better information on there web page. RATES CANCELLATION information etc. Maybe another time. And a 14 day cancellation policy for a campground resort is not acceptable to me. If you are looking for price gouging, this is your place. During Covid with FL at the epicenter we had to cancel our reservation being senior with other issues. Even though their paper work said the cancellation fee was "Full refund less one night reservation fee" they charged me for a full non-discounted night fee, not one night of my reservation fee. When I complained they changed their web-site wording! How is that for heartless dishonesty? No other camp resort charged me a fee considering Covid. Only Williston did a money grab, unfeeling during Covid. Stay somewhere else or you are going to be paying through the nose. A friend turned me on to this place so we have been wanting to camp there for some time. Last year the pool was being renovated so we thought we would wait til this year. Well, we made it. Place is really nice, lots of areas to take pictures and the dog parks are even great! I do think though that they should leave it as an adults only year round. The constant harassment and complaints that go on when bringing kids isn't worth the aggravation. Little to do there outside the Pool for kids, and we were harassed about kids riding bikes unattended, which wasn't published in the rules. That's ok, kids can play in the empty spot next to you. No, you will get harassed about that too. So with the pool closed for Covid, still charging the hefty price and then only to harass us during the entire stay about kids wanting to ride bikes, I feel the 2-stars is generous. Very unhappy with the fact that I had to cancel my trip and was well within the 45 days because my husband has had COVID so we are not able to be around crowds. Was coming to area to see the Gator Nationals (large crowds) . The resort states that their policy stands and they chose to keep one night stay out of my refund amount. GREEDY campground shame on you. This is uncertain times and people are trying to still patronize and support your business and when something unexpected happens we get punished. Made two reservations with this campground, for one night on my way into FL and one night on my return. A week before my trip the Coronavirus hit and I called to cancel. They keep both fees for my stays. When asked for a credit one futures dates they said it was not their policy. I can say that if I had booked with a KOA I would have gotten a full refund. Also, with another Good Sam campground I got a credit for a later date with in a year. Food for thought! read more

DO NOT CAMP HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A FAMILY FRIENDLY RESORT! Williston Crossing should be a 55+ community year round. As soon as we arrived my 11 year old grandson rode his bike 4 campsites down to see our friends. He was stopped by a gentleman that ask him 'who he was and were he was from.' My grandson is Black. Then a female person that worked there told him to go home that he wasn't allowed to ride a bike without an adult. No where in their 'rules' does it say children are only allowed to ride bakes with adults and I even ask where to find the rules when got another visit from them but their answer was it's in the book. Never found it. We then received calls that our grandson rode thru an empty site, I have done that many times when I stayed there without my grandchildren, but I am over 55 and white. We were also told he turned around in someone's driveway on his bike. There was a group of us riding and it started to rain so we turned around and he turned around in a driveway. Nothing was ever said to the blonde headed girl down the street that rode her bike up and down whose grandmother lives there. read more

Expensive. Rude people. No kids allowed unless visiting their grandparents. We booked a week to visit my parents-they put us next to a site that they were grooming for a double wide park home!! Woke up at 8:15 Saturday morning to chainsaws! Sunday morning to lawnmower and weed eater! The rest of the week was mini back hoe and nosy neighbors stopping to BS so the job took even longer. Next visit we'll stay elsewhere and drive over to visit. They don't like outsiders at Stepford Crossing. read more

My boyfriend and I are staying here for a week with his grandparents. The resort is gorgeous and gated, so we feel safe and comfortable here. Obviously, the resort caters to an elderly crowd, so we are some of the younger ones on the site. Bathrooms are huge and clean--I love that. It's been too cold to visit the pool, but it looks great! There is a huge gazebo fire pit where you can hang out at night with people from all over the country. Only downsides to the resort are no hiking trails, and you cannot have tents (so we're stuck in Mamaw and Papaw's camper) or campfires...which basically defeats the purpose of camping. So if you have a big ass RV you wanna park on a concrete slab, this place is for you! Personally, I like it a bit more rugged! read more

This is hands down the best park we have stayed in, and we have been to many across the country. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We took advantage of the first timers week special, and are thrilled that we did. The amenities are fabulous, especially the pool, pond, and activities center. The laundry room and rest rooms are huge, modern, and very well maintained. The cleaning personnel for the bathrooms could do better. The pool needs to be vacuumed also. (I would still give it 5 stars though so I can boost their ratings) Our site was large, quiet, and shady. Thank you Betty for your outstanding customer service from my first call till our departure. We were able to stay with a special for $120.00/wk.Normal rate $240.00 a wk and worth every penny.The grounds are awesome.The sites are by far the best we have stayed in and we have travel through all the states.The management and staff were very helpful and walking our 2 dogs was a pleasure.Everyone is very friendly and and take pride in the park with many volunteers.I would stay here all winter but the area is not warm enough for my husband.If you bare ever in the area you don't want to miss this RV resort. We just had a staff member hang up on us. The last time we stayed we had a site where the electric did not work,they attempted to fix it twice and ended up using an extension cord to the electric box on the site next to us. The staff member Janet accused me of not being happy with Williston. When my husband asked her what she was basing this on she brought up that incident. It is a beautiful park but they are in desperate need of a more professional staff. I don't know of any well run business that makes accusations to their customers and then hangs up on them. REALLY! PS they also charge your card for the entire stay a month in advance. BEWARE read more

Have stayed at Williston Crossings off and on for last couple of years. The facilities are worth the money, the down side is the distance from Gainesville (20 minutes) and Ocala (30 minutes). The location leaves a little to be desired. The upside is that the whole park is gated and secured, the slabs are actually level and there is definitely the sense of community. All amenities are well maintained. Will certainly stay there next time passing through. read more
