I have a 2005 BMW convertible with the two piece Style 71 rims. I bought the car in July of last…read moreyear, and the wheels had some deteriorated clearcoat around the edges, plus some curb rash. I decided that I would fix them myself when I switched to winter tires (I run a separate set of Blizzaks and rims from December to March) After taking on wheel apart, applying paint remover and sand blasting, I could see this job was going to be a pain in the a$$. Did my research, found Alloy Wheel Repair, sent them photos and called. I spoke with Stephanie, and she quoted a price of $275 per wheel, which would have seemed high, had I not already attempted the job, and researched suitable replacements (these wheels are not made any more, and the other style I would use (Style 135) cost $380 each, just for the wheels, plus shipping, mounting, balance, etc.). I took them to their shop and dropped them off. The guy who helped me unload them said "These wheels are a pain in the a$$." I said "That's why I'm bringing them to you." About a week later, Stephanie called and said the wheels are ready. I picked them up, and they are absolutely beautiful!! I almost hate to put them back on my car. I recommend Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists to everyone.

Man oh man, if it wasn't for this shop I would have been in a horrible place…read more Spent good money at another certain shop that is "Toyota specific" in Middletown. And they destroyed the studs on my exhaust manifold from a simple bolt on magnaflow exhaust that should have been no more than 2 hours and a few hundred dollars. It left that shop leaking and loose, right rear cat failed and magnaflow honored the warranty and shipped me a replacement. Brought it back to have them swap the part and fix the leak. It leaked even worse and the owner told me straight to my face that it was not leaking and it didn't fit perfect cause it wasn't OEM. I finally find Eric with performance automotive and come To find out he even used to work at ams, so he knows what he's doing for sure. After spending 3 hours removing the old stripped studs and putting in new hardware, the magnaflow exhaust all went into place perfect like an OEM part . Had some other parts that needed to go on before a trip back to California and when I went to drop off truck my alternator was showing signs it was going out. Got all the parts together and he managed to swap that, installed my traction bars, do my carrier bearing on my driveshaft, and airbag cradles. Truck drives perfect now and while his shop rate may be "high" to some people, he actually is working that full hour and doesn't just sit around. I'd rather pay more per hour and less hours and ensure it gets done than some of these other shops in the area that charge less per hour but bill you more hours and mess things up like what I experienced that he had to fix. Overall you get what you pay for and simply put, He's the only shop I would ever go to out there.

In an attempt to fix the scratch, they sanded the rim not aware of what kind of finish was on the rim, thus completely ruining the finish in that area. I have yet to find a location that can repair the lip and I'm not looking at simply replacing the lip completely with a new one, which is what I should have done in the first place, but I was told the repair job was a very easy one to do.
