The original attorney I hired advertised and assured me of their knowledge in this area, but turned out to know almost nothing about it. Willick's firm was able to take over, revise all the documents appropriately, and help ensure all the specific requirements were met for my situation. They also took care of the follow-up calculations paperwork regarding military benefits. It was a relief to deal with professionals who knew what they were doing after trying to explain to my original lawyer things as basic as the difference between a service member's home of record and state of residence (which they never did grasp). This law firm is a mess. Staff wears sweats to work and they have no ethics or manners. A case that included 2 court appearances one 45 minutes and another 2 hours. Total charges around 25K. Office very unorganized and they kept on loosing documents I would provide them. Mr Willick does have a wealth of knowledge, but he does not handle most of the cases his staff does and with a firm this size he is not able to oversee all the cases. When ever I talked to him personally it seemed he didn't have a clue about my case. I would definitely not recommend this firm even, they definitely do not live up to their fame. read more

I hired the firm in 2009. I was very disappointed with the whole staff in this firm. Especially the paralegal assigned to my attorney. When I met with them, I specifically told them to wait that the other party was going to file first. The other party already knew, I hired the firm (Willick) to represent me, and then we will respond, but they decided to FILE FIRST, ignoring my request and of course charging me several thousand of dollars for the paperwork and service which was unnecessary, because the paperwork was useless, once the other party filed. Then, there was the incompetent paralegal, I can do way better job than him. One day, he called me to come to the office to sign "a paper", I drove all the way to do so, something that it was supposed to take probably one minute, plus his stamp; it took him two hours... of course, so they can charge me for 2 hours. WHY it took him TWO HOURS? Because the incompetent paralegal, kept doing all the calculations WRONG, OVER AND OVER FOR TWO hours. Then he is treating me like I am an idiot and he knows better, because he was a former marine? Ha! Obviously, he didn't know much about armed forces. You were a marine, I was married to an air force guy! Plus, he had the nerves to tell me that I didn't know how much the other party made in $$$, excuse me, were you married to the other party for 22 years? Then, because he kept screwing up the paperwork, of course, they had the nerves to charge me for two hours, because this mediocre paralegal, and everything they did was not always accurate, but of course they kept charging me... I can't deal with incompetent paralegal, and this is the reason I fired the firm, because of that paralegal, too many mistakes and I was paying for his mistakes. Then, when I complained to the administrator, who is the brother of Mr. Willick, he had the nerves to act like he is upset, cuz I am complaining of the whole incident!!?? Really? They charged me so much for several months and they didn't do absolutely anything, cuz the idea was to keep charging me without doing anything, the more they drag it, the more they charged me. The idea was to continue charging every month, even though they didn't do anything... it was a total scam. Paralegal goes with the attorney to meet with the other party's attorney, then I was charged for both of their time per hour. Then, attorney repeats everything to paralegal, so they can again charge me for something it was already charged. My point is, if the paralegal went to the meetings, I am being charged for his time and the attorney, he is supposed to be taken notes of the meeting, so why everything needs to be repeated again by the attorney to him and charge me for those additional hours???? They have a nice website with tons of good information, but wish they can do as good as their website, TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED! I can do better than that paralegal, without being trained as a paralegal. My dealings with The Willick Law Group were spaced out over a year and was a very stressful experience for me due to the very nature of my case. They were actually the 2nd law firm I had as the first one didn't do QDRO's but didn't refer me to them until after I'd obtained the judgment. I don't think my case would have dragged on as long as it did had WLG been the original firm. My attorney was Trevor Creel who was very easy to talk with and quite knowledgeable and I have no complaints whatsoever. Faith was also wonderful to deal with. Marshall Willick was present at the last hearing and after seeing him in action was happy he was there. My only complaint during the whole ordeal is not with WLG but rather the Judge who I thought was out of line on several occasions and kept dragging the case on and on. In reference to Mr. Willick's response to my earlier post. His response is a feeble attempt to dismiss the validity of my comments about one of his colleagues. 1) Note how he attempts to be dismissive, e.g. I 'You are not a client, and never have been, and apparently do not even live in Nevada'. I did not claim to have been a client; I shared information that might be beneficial to others based upon my experience in speaking with an attorney from his firm. Additionally, if he is trying to discredit or call into question the validity of my claims based upon my not having updated a Yelp profile, he failed. How many months did it take him to respond to the post and manage his brand and reputation of his firm? ( 1 yr., 7 months). His comments: Immaterial. 2) He references the no cost consultation. Does that somehow excuse the lack of professionalism exhibited by his colleague? If not, then why is he mentioning it? Ineffective argument. 3) A full seven months after a phone call, he goes engages in false claims and ad hominem arguments in another failed attempt to dismiss my claims. Essentially trying to find fault and be critical of me. Furthermore, he relies on heresay from the colleague who was unprofessional. Did she recant the conversation to him nineteen months ago, and he finally got around to defending her, because she lacked that mental agility to do it herself? Or are his comments based on her recollection of a call from nineteen months ago? Response: Incredulous and transparent to try to do damage control. 4) After his colleague demonstrated ignorance on a number of legal matters, it is highly relevant to inquire about where one studied law. Clearly, Mr. Willick disagrees. Why would an attorney refuse to say where she went to law school? Many post it on firm websites, and it would not surprise me if she did that same. But after being absolutely wrong ion a number of things, she became defensive. She may be educated, and have passed the bar, but she is not that bright. Overall, Mr. Willick, your post revealed a good deal more about you, your firm and the (in)ability to make intelligent rebuttal. read more
