This store is so packed you barely can get down any Isle. I was there today and was wondering how do they get by with this. There's no exit signs to be found and you can't even really tell where the front door is because it's so packed so high it's ridiculous. Okay, this nasty HEPATITIS C infected store is about useless at ALL levels. They are about the same distance for me between my house and lawton. Since they are so far out they give Oklahoma Pike Pass's for the pikepass customers. I drove there to get a new pass decal for one of my Harleys today after talking to the Pikepass authority who told me that Williams had on hand after updating everything on the phone with the State. I get there and the two ladies behind the Costumer No-Service counter said that they had the State decals but didn't know how to use the system. They suggested that I go to the tag agency down the road. I went there and they didn't have any of the motorcycle decals left on hand and suggested that I go back to Williams and tell them to call the tag agency and they would help them. I went back to Williams and asked if they could call them or the State to figure it out. They refused and went back to playing on their cell phones. My suggestion, DON'T BE LAZY and learn your fricken jobs!! As nasty as this lame "discount" store is you would think they would do ANYTHING to get costumers in. Avoid at ask costs. It's worth the gas money to drive 15 miles away to avoid the rotten bug invested fruit/vegetables, super high prices, coupons that don't WORK, and most importantly NOT CATCHING HEPATITIS C!! read more

This store is the most expensive grocery store I've ever seen. Walmart was coming in Elgin Oklahoma in 2014 but somehow that got shot down so this Williams grocery could stay in business cuz believe me at Walmart came in that place " Williams Grocery" would go down overnight. read more

I love going in and finding the new things they have brought in. It's a little tight inside, but they almost always have what we need. With the new refrigerators they have, the selection has increased! The staff is always very helpful. read more

They have basic groceries although may not be fully stocked. Decent prices for small town store. A bit dirty and needs some renovations. It is better than driving into Lawton for big name grocery stores. Very friendly workers and they offer to bring groceries to the car for you. read more

I went on my lunch break to Williams to grab some food. Half of the ready cut packaged fruit was moldy and when I went towards the back to get a lady's attention to tell her, she answered with a very rude attitude asking "what!?". I ended up getting the one fruit that looked decent, cantaloupe, chicken and taters, and sweet potatoes. Cantaloupe tasted sour and bad. The potatoes were not cooked they were hard. The chicken was hard as well. Sweet potatoes tasted bad as well. Kind of sad. My mom and I used to love their ribs but not only do I not trust their food, but the mannerism is bad. Will not be going back, would rather drive to Lawton. read more

Store is gross. It's very dirty and smells terrible. Walmart is cleaner/nicer than this dump. There is duct tape on the floor to cover holes/tripping hazards. The Jesus worship music is too loud. There is nothing "discount" about it. All items are significantly more expensive than the commissary or Walmart. The selection is terrible and many items are expired. It could use a facelift but we rate based primarily on customer service. We stopped thru town yesterday to pick up some stuff on the fly to take to our niece. The store is laid out really odd but that's ok - cause their staff is really helpful in helping you locate items. The cashier (forgot her name but she's young and dark headed and worked closest to the East wall) greeted every single person who walked in while we were in line. I moved to Elgin about 3 years ago, and at first I wasn't very impressed with the Williams Store. I actually thought that it was a locally owned store initially, and not a franchise. But then they started some major improvements, first in the parking lot, then the inertia of the store, and it seemed to expand their floor space. I've talked to the customer service desk, and spoken with management when I want to find out the likelihood of ordering a specific item, they couldn't, but that is really right out of their corporate rules and regulations on ordering supplies, it's not they don't want to help. Otherwise I've always had a friendly greeting when I come through the doors. Everyone inside seems eager to help, and regardless of what they are doing, will escort me directly to the item, although it was typically several rows from where they were working. Now that is customer service. Could it be better you may ask, and to that I would say not at all. The staff at Williams are excellent and should be proud of their service! For an old Small Town Grocery Story it does provide the basics. Over the last 5 years they have made some improvements to clean it up and to stock it with different items including a deli . It is an old store and will continue to have some issue's however you always have a choice to drive 34 miles round trip to find something else. I shop here weekly just for the small stuff and have not issue's if I see something bad I notify them and I don't purchase it. The staff and young students and people that work there are polite and courteous every time all the time. read more

By far the worst store that I have ever shopped at. ALWAYS encounter a problem, every single time I shop here. NEVER FAILS. If they are not ringing you up wrong, the advertised item(s) that brought you in, CAN'T be found. Now we can add, their digital coupons, don't work. I used to visit this market back when I was in jr high and that was back in the 70's. The fact that it is old and a little run down, isn't even an issue with me. I just want to be rung up correctly and for them to have the advertised items on the shelves. I don't even live in Elgin, so I have drive several miles, out of my way, to get there. Fix the issue with your digital coupons. Dollar General just asks you to enter a phone number and never an issue. I guess I will try again in 6 months when I am no longer pissed off, maybe not. You just lost my business over a $1 coupon. It not about the money to me, I know it for your store, it is about the principle. The store should have addressed the issue but failed, MISERABLY! Why is it when I walk into Williams it smells like horse poop? Are they stock piling by the food in the back? One would surely think so, because flies, nats, and an array of other pests are swarming all over their (half-rotting) produce. On the topic of pests, legions of beetles, roaches, and grasshoppers have free reign over the rest of the store. And you can't make the excuse, "that's just Oklahoma." Neither the commissary, walmart, nor gas mart have as large a host of hellish critters. The signage on each isle misleads customers as what is actually IN that isle. Over-sized wooden pallets crowd each isle; so much so that you can't squeeze your rusty, hepatitis-c ridden buggy through. The parking lot has more craters than the moon. Also, on more than one occasion, I've had to pay customer service a visit for random charges from Williams that were never made and had to be refunded. Last, but not least is the remarkable hospitality. Each cashier should wear a DO NOT DISTURB sign. Every time I walk up to the counter and give a 'hi, how are you', I get a look back as if I've asked them to donate a kidney. The hard working people of Elgin deserve better. Their children deserve better. I hope the next Health inspection points this business in the right direction. The fact of the matter is, Wiliams Discount Foods isn't discounted at all. They are the only supermarket within 18 miles of Elgin, and they actually jack up prices because they have the market cornered. Very few can afford to travel 36 miles for a grocery run each week. If Williams doesn't change their ways, I hope the influx of soldiers and contractors attracts cleaner and more reasonable food stores to Elgin. read more

Barely any selection... Everything is full of preservatives and nothing natural. Vegetables are all about to go bad here. Funny thing is that there is a sign that says "8 out of 10 Oklahomans don't eat enough fruits or vegetables" We'll that's weird. Maybe because of all the bad vegetables that's why? read more

Aside from it being a very old building and really should get torn down and rebuilt it's not to bad. It use to stink horrible in there but all I smell now is the oldness of the building. They do not carry any health food items but they do carry speciality items like the taco shells and salsa that no one else carries. The employees are super nice and helpful. The cashiers always say hi and have never been rude that I have seen. read more

I completely agree with the previous reviews. The selection is pretty terrible and the vegetables are not fresh. I can't speak on the meat since I don't buy it there. They don't even offer basic "health" foods, such as greek yogurt or tofu. I gave the store 2 stars because the service is a redeeming factor. Convenient but not a lot of bargains and sub-par produce. No beer sold in this store. Constant religious music on the sound system is not everyone's cup of tea. Employees are friendly. I'm continue to shop here but only because it's convenient and close. read more
