We handed it in to the store and were surprised by 2 young employees. One, a young lady, pushed the items back towards us and said "We don't take back those kinds of items." As the argument got louder she said that sell-by dates only apply to grocery stores, not to liquor stores, and that it wasn't counted for food at their place of business. My supplies had run out so I decided a motorcycle ride to Wichita Falls was in order. Upon arrival, I was greeted and quickly guided to the TX Blended Whiskey I had intended to buy. The man running the front (the manager?) struck up a conversation with me about various whiskeys and even made a few suggestions based on what I have enjoyed in the past. I went with a special bottling of some Ranger Creek (also a Texas based distillery) that was quite delicious and interesting to drink. I shopped at Pancho's for 8 years, and no one ever bothered to ask my name, learn what we liked, or have the smallest conversation with us. Same at Sean's and others as well. But this place immediately felt different to me. It seems like this has happened in several places throughout this little burg I've moved to. I can dig it. When I told them I'd just moved nearby, they went out of their way to be friendly, and it seemed like they genuinely wanted to know more about me. Then, we walked around looking at product and they pointed out things they thought I might like, and what my mom might like. Selection is well-curated, with a little something for everything; they clearly employ very friendly and knowledgeable people. When I was there it was the owner, her son, and one other very nice young man helping with stocking. While I was there, Lively Beerworks was setting up for a complimentary tasting, and several regulars came in to buy a few things and to chat. If you're there, don't miss "Joey" the perfect Frenchie that hangs out there during the day. The absolute nicest part - they boxed my goodies, and carried them to my car despite the absolute downpour! Love this little shop and will no doubt be spending lots of time here!

I say that because while they do carry some of the more common liquors, they have less than a normal store in favor of more niche selections. To me, this is a benefit, but for those running in to grab a big jug of Jose Cuervo, be warned, it ain't here.
