Awesome! Lived in Plano over 20 years, never ventured out this way until now- ( Heard great things…read moreabout wineries in area! Folks not wrong!). Had the red flight, all good- Tempranillo was great- ( not a wine connoisseur folks, but these wines were good!) Ordered the charcuterie board as well- tasty- Service was fine- no problems there- What struck me was the ambience of the place- closest thing to the Hill country without being there! Hills like this in North Texas? Never knew- Views off the patio were great-If you're in the metroplex looking to escape for an afternoon- this is a short drive and worth it, ( Note; you will travel on some gravel and some hilly terrain)

Just go to Blue Ostrich. 4R loves to copy everything they do anyway…read more Legitimately the worst place I've ever worked. Got fired for calling the health department (which is illegal) because the owner decided to let an outdoor fridge full of food sit without electricity for 4 days, causing all the food (meats and cheeses) to go completely bad. Instead of calling the health department themselves LIKE THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE to see if the food was still safe to consume, they called "a close friend who's a professional chef", and likely gave them info that was all incorrect or skewed, because no professional I've ever met or worked with would allow a fridge to sit for 4 days in the heat and consider anything inside of it safe. The health department informed me that the food would have been toxic at that point and needed to be discarded immediately. When I informed Walt and Nicole, both were not only taken aback, but were actually mad and started slandering me about how terrible I was at my job. A former supervisor quit on the spot because of that exact behavior; them berated and belittling them saying they weren't worth their pay (after withholding money from their paycheck) Being fired for calling the health department is illegal, and withholding pay is also illegal. I got fired via email, with zero cause attached, so I can only assume they cheated the system and put "terminated without cause" to sidestep the actual reason. Nicole was, to put it blatantly, a slave driver. We declined alcohol sales to a pregnant woman and her visibly inebriated husband, and when they posted a baf review on Facebook, we all got reprimanded for it. Not only is it illegal to serve alcohol to someone who's visibly had one too many, it's morally insane to serve alcohol to a pregnant woman. But we were told if we spoke anything against Nicole's call, then it would be a write up. The food is made at some random dudes house, btw. Not a professional, not someone with a culinary background, not someone who's ever worked in a fine dining environment. Just a friend of Walt's. The food was made in his house, frozen, shipped to them, then thawed and heated in a toaster oven and served at nearly $20 for a small pizza. Horrendous. The place is run by the most insane couple I've ever had the displeasure of meeting, who are never on the same page, and would get into heated arguments right in front of the staff, and both loved to belittle their staff. Neither have any business running a company of any caliber, much less a fine dining winery experience.

Update: personally had feedback from the owner and really appreciated the humbleness to make our…read moreexperience better. Will be taking them up on it and giving it a second chance. The drive up to the vineyard was great. From the outside, the facilities were appealing and inviting. We selected this establishment due to it having food on the menu on the website that we looked at prior to leaving for the vineyard. Upon being seated, a menu was handed to us with no explanation. When the waitress came back over we asked for the mixed wine flight and 2 flatbreads. She explained to us that the kitchen was closed (the was at 1:30 pm and the waitress never communicated it out when handing us the menus that the kitchen was closed nor did the website mention it) and that the only thing we could get was chips and hummus. Since we were hungry, we asked for the chips and hummus. She came back with our first pours and she added that each pour was 1 oz. which I highly doubt due to it just barely filling up the glass. I asked her how she knew how much she was pouring and she said "I just guess". We did the next pour, then on the third pour she was pouring the last wine on the menu. We explained to her that she skipped the 3rd wine and proceeded to argue with us. She finally brought us the 3rd wine after debate then the fourth. Wine was very good. The table next to us received a charcutier board and then realized she never brought us any chips or hummus. It was at this point we realized, we were not going to get the service that we desired. We asked for our check and paid. We left straight from there to another winery where the food was good, service was great and staff were friendly and accommodating. We will not be going back to Arche or recommending it to anyone who asks.

We drove an hour and a half, one way, to try out this winery for the FIRST time. We also expressed…read moreto a staff member that this was our first time. Since we arrived as soon as the facility had opened, we were anxious to start off with wine flights and a charcuterie board. Only ONE other couple arrived before us and since they ordered a charcuterie board, we were then told that they didn't have enough provisions to make any other charcuterie boards for the remainder of the day. This was an UTTER disappointment!!!!! Especially, since I had messaged the winery beforehand and was assured they were serving food from their entire menu. We begrudgingly ordered a "flatbread" item from the menu and were sorely disappointed. Given the ingredients included on this super tiny small "pizza" and the exorbitant cost, the profit markup on this menu item has to be HUGE! Since the winery was busy, we heard other disappointed guests try to order charcuterie boards to also be upset that none were to be had on that day. Our sommelier was knowledgeable about all of the wines....and I am assuming was the owner/manager of the vineyard. We opted to buy 6 bottles of wine at a mere savings and had wanted to open one of them to enjoy while we were there. Then, the "catch" came....we had to buy an ADDITIONAL bottle to open while being seated as the "cost savings" offer was only available as a "carry out". Our tasting service was slow and the cost for tastings far exceeds what we are used to given the MANY Texas wineries we have visited. While the ambiance is idyllic and the facility is clean, a business only gets ONE chance to make a good first impression. Like other reviews, that have been recently posted, we left and found a nearby winery that offered great food, reasonable prices and fantastic service. We won't be back and we won't be recommending this winery to anyone else.
