We rented a yurt. It was nice and clean and decent size. We have a dog and it allowed dogs in the yurt we rented. The downside was that all the spaces were really close to your neighbors so you could hear them inside their yurts. Also it was super cold and raining/mixed with snow and the heater in the yurt really did not work that well. It did not warm up the hurt at all and you pretty much had to. E standing right in front of it to feel any heAt. The camp hosts were friendly The park was pretty I'd be willing to go back and try it in warmer weather

Wonderful! We rented a yurt. It was clean with plenty of space for the two of us. It probably would sleep 4 adults comfortably and even 2 adults with 3 or 4 children. It came with electricity, lighting, a space heater, a table with 2 chairs, a futon, and a bunk bed that's queen size below and full size above. But, bring your own sheets, pillows, and blankets. Eel Lake in the park would be a great lake to kayak if it weren't for the afternoon winds. And there's a hard to find rare and shy pair of pileated woodpeckers living in the park if birding is your thing. The only disappointment was the close proximity to the highway, thus lots of noise. For the women, there's flush toilets and hot showers. And the park rangers were friendly, especially Michelle. We'll be back for mo' for sure!

The campsite are small, but clean. Very pretty and lots to see in the area. Great for rvs, but most sites will barely fit two tents.

Had a great time kayaking with grandkids at Eel Lake, riding bikes around the park, super camp fires at night!

HELLO! THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO FIND THE SECRET HINSDALE GARDEN…read moreAKA RHODODENDRON GARDEN. We were only able to find this place after having help from a local and had driven for miles already. If you make a right turn out of the elk viewing area a few hundred yards down the road on the left is an unmarked wooden gate. Park on the right side of the road and cross the highway and you should see benches and trees, maybe flowers just past the gate. This is how you will know that you are in the right place and not someone's property. Also, you can find directions to this garden via google maps, but it will ONLY show up if you google 48043 State Highway 38. It will NOT show up if you google Hinsdale Garden or even Hinsdale Rhododendron Garden. Pictures are included to help identify the area. The garden itself is not too big, but nice and there are bathrooms (porda-potties) if needed. My family just went there and it was completely private yet beautiful since there were still trees in bloom. I hope this helps anyone else trying to find the garden! :)

The history of this spectacular creation is also fascinating. At present it is only open a few days a year for tours -- and spring 2019 is past -- but is very visible from the highway and you can still park at the gate and take a walking tour. Since 1994 it has been owned by BLM, but is in the process of being restored and maintained in partnership with the "Friends of Hinsdale Garden." Here is their website, which includes an informative video, comprehensive journal articles, and visitation schedules: http://www.hinsdalegarden.com

My dog really enjoys running around and playing here. Once we are done on the beach there are plenty of trails for her to walk on and wildlife to see. She especially loves the birds and the turkeys. It's easy to spend 4 hours here daily just exploring and enjoying the water. It's fairly clean and safe since the beach is a decent ways away from the road. We haven't camped here or used the restrooms. We just enjoy the water and the trails. It's a perfect place for a picnic on a warm day and an excellent area to stretch your legs on a car trip.

We arrived late after dark and it was very easy to check in with no ranger present at the gate house. In the morning we awoke to find a beautiful campsite with easy access to the beach and the Coquille River Lighthouse. We met friendly RVers right next to us and I would gladly stay here again. Generally, Bandon doesn't get as much attention as some of the other spots up the coast, but I really liked it here. The beach is quiet and peaceful and, although it doesn't have the crazy rock formations that some others do, it is definitely worth a visit. The driftwood here was nuts!
