Dr. Sears is not just a doctor; he is truly an angel in disguise. His compassion and love for his patients shine through in everything he does. He took the time to listen to my concerns. His caring demeanor and warmth put me at ease, and I felt like my I was talking to a trusted friend. Not only is Dr. Sears exceptional, but his staff is equally amazing. Brilliant Dr. who is not only pro-vaccine, but pro-informed, carefully chosen vaccines. Not only does he advocate vaccines but he urges parents to proceed with a carefully planned schedule, and selective pharma brands to avoid toxic metals and other potential hazards. I have been confused by some of the reviews I've seen on Dr. Sears and his books. It seems that many are confused or misinformed as to what Dr. Sears' mission is. Many seem to think he is anti vaccine, yet the first line in his Vaccinations book is, "I am a pro-vaccine Doctor." I highly recommend Dr. Sears; he is a wealth of information and a valuable resource for all parents. I am extremely grateful to have met him. read more

We met Dr Sears this week. He took his time speaking with me and never made me feel rushed. My kids were normal toddlers, playing and making noise and it didn't phase him at all. His staff was very friendly and so accommodating to our schedule. We will absolutely refer friends to him. He is a well educated doctor who cherishes his patients! read more

Dr Bob Sears is the only pediatrician I will bring my daughter to and the only one I trust with health questions, alternatives, he gives out the best information I have concerns about. I highly recommend it's worth to pay out of pocket instead of going to one my insurance covers. read more

My son is 20 and we've been going to the Sears (mainly Drs. Bill and Bob) since my son was 6 months old. I am a former reporter for a major newspaper and thus a professional skeptic. I do my research. I question everything and everyone, particularly those who are "popular." I don't write many reviews, but this one is long overdue. First, regarding the Dr. Bob vaccine controversy. Never, EVER did Dr. Bob push us toward one philosophy/strategy over another in regard to vaccinating. Another doctor, a family friend, cautioned us about doing a third round of MMR for our son as our son was a very intense, serious child (this is back when the Asperger's label just was being tossed about). Dr. Bob listened carefully to my questions about this and reviewed the possible paths that we might take. Not once did he try to persuade us one way or another. He was empathetic, grounded and straightforward, acknowledging he didn't have all the answers (who does!). Very much appreciated. A year or so earlier, it was a very similar story with his father, Dr. Bill, who had gotten some negative buzz from the mainstream world about co-sleeping and the "family bed" around that time. Dr. Bill and his lovely wife, Martha, both encouraged us to "wear" our very intense, colicky baby in a sling and attend to his needs, but also to be on alert for mommy burnout and not let baby completely dominate every minute of our lives. They explained why they were fans of the "family bed," but never pushed us to incorporate it in our home. I clearly remember Dr. Bill saying "it's not for everyone and bottom line is you should do what's best for the ENTIRE family (mom, dad, kids)." Same for extended nursing. As my son got older, there were "emotional/behavioral" issues that I think lesser pediatricians might quickly toss a label on and psychotropic medications might be prescribed. Not Dr. Bill! He was adamant that before we experiment with any medication, we needed a rock solid diagnosis (though he "prescribed" fish oil in the meantime). As it turned out, a lengthy evaluation by a pediatric neuropsychologist revealed my son had an IQ in the "profoundly gifted" (genius) range, which explained much of the behavior. (Twenty years later, my son still takes a daily dose of fish oil!) These are just a few of the reasons we kept coming back. The Sears are hardly the extremists some alarmists have made them out to be. I find the whole office (along with their many childcare books) to be grounded in compassion, integrity and good sense! We were lucky to live so close! read more

First of all no one should post a review that's not a patient 'Michael'. After my son had a BAD reaction from an MMR I began searching for a Dr who has studied immunizations thoroughly. It seemed every Dr I found had concerns about the new schedule of over 40 immunizations by age 6. Thankfully I found Dr Sears who was willing to do the old schedule of 9 immunizations for my son very cautiously. Thank you Dr Sears going against the current and respecting a Mommy's intuition because in the end we ALL want healthy babies :) read more
