If I could give Josh 0 stars, I would. I have had nothing but headaches since I build my home with…read morehim when his company was named Leaders Construction. He was sued by other home buyers at the time I was gathering my case and filed for bankruptcy so there were no repercussions. Repairs were not completed per wisconsin law, my walls are literally wavy, drywall and grout cracked immediately. When finishing the basement we had to remove framing because nothing is square, things are not shimmed but are cobbled together. We found random scrap boards nailed to beams and framing but not to the opposing boards. There ere no windows in the basement even through he and I discussed finishing the basement in the future. The measurements between the garage and stairs were off by 1.5". My window sash fell out a couple weeks after i moved in and he broke the pane of glass by pounding on the window with his fist and it was not repaired for over a week in December. I walk through his parade houses every year and he's still doing the same bullsh*t work. Stay away. Find another builder. This is lipstick on a pig.

We decided we'd replace it anyway. And much to our surprise no rebar had been used. Even though the contract specified pinned rebar for the driveway. When we sought reimbursement from this builder we were told he has no funds available to reimburse us for this clear breach of the contract terms.

Avoid Flat Fee Home Builders / Magestro Custom Homes - Serious Construction and Integrity Issues…read more We hired Flat Fee Home Builders--now doing business as Magestro Custom Homes--to build our custom forever home. Unfortunately, the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Within the first year of moving in, we discovered numerous major issues throughout the home: structural defects, poor craftsmanship, unsafe electrical work, and unfinished or improperly completed areas. When we reached out during the one-year warranty period, the company repeatedly delayed, denied, and deflected. Rather than take accountability, they brought in subcontractors and supplier reps to sidestep responsibility, often offering implausible excuses. It was clear their tactic was to stall until the warranty expired. This wasn't just a case of bad workmanship--it was deceptive, negligent, and felt deliberately fraudulent. We're sharing this to warn others. If you're considering working with Flat Fee Home Builders / Magestro Custom Homes, please reconsider. In our experience, they delivered a defective home, misrepresented their work, and ultimately walked away with zero accountability. Here are just some of the serious problems we've experienced: Windows: Andersen windows installed crooked--voiding the manufacturer's warranty. They're noisy, malfunctioning, and were damaged/missing parts from day one. Interior & Exterior Doors: Poorly installed, sagging, not sealing properly. Some doors have even fallen off their hinges. Pocket Doors: Installed warped and completely non-functional. Flooring: Subfloor improperly installed--leading to creaking, cracking LVP floors and separation across the main level. Tile Work: Wrong tiles installed. Many are chipped, cracked, or poorly aligned. Grout is crumbling and washing away two years later. Cabinetry: Damaged during install, then patched instead of replaced--despite charging us for replacements. Garage Doors: Sold as new but were clearly used. Drywall & Paint: Damaged areas hidden under trim; paint wipes off with a damp cloth; flaking mud and uneven finishes throughout. Exterior Materials: Low-grade lumber used instead of the premium cedar we paid for; rusting nails and hardware throughout. Deck: Not built to code--only seven screws used where dozens were required. Electrical: Exposed wiring, overloaded circuits, flickering lights, and improperly zoned HVAC systems. Concrete: Poor finishing has led to cracking and chipping. Framing: Twisted and uneven due to the use of warped scrap lumber. We deeply regret choosing this builder. They've shown a pattern of avoiding responsibility and cutting corners at every step. Please do your research and proceed with extreme caution.

I have very mixed feelings about William Ryan. If you are reading the reviews, please note, 2 of…read morethe 5* reviews are incredibly biased. One is from a manager at the company, the other is from the wife of the realtor onsite at the Fitchburg location. (Pics attached). The overall build quality of the homes is solid. They use 2x6 construction, and the basements with the superior walls seems solid. However, the attention to detail will drive you insane. Pics are attached of *some* of the issues we encountered during our final walk-through. That was in November. To date, some of the issues have been addressed, but not all. The builder is also insisting on patching some things, like covering the crushed/broken cabinet with a "skin" as opposed to replacing it. With homes that start in the upper $300k range, know in advance what you are getting into. Somewhat of an update, after my post on their page for their Monona/Fitchburg/Stoner Prairie location, we were contacted by a manager, who came on site. The doors have since been corrected, but that is the only issue that has since been addressed in the month+ since the review and meeting. Just be very, very, very wary, and GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING Update 2: 8/26/19 Not any better news. BE AWARE, most of the positive reviews for this page/location are *NOT* home owners in the neighborhood. This neighborhood is phenomenal. Great people, tons of kids. There is a Facebook group for the neighborhood, and most of these positive reviews DO NOT LIVE HERE. We closed 8 months ago, and are still waiting for items on our "90 day punch list". We are about to start the 11 month warranty, and I'm dreading it more than almost anything. I could go on and on about specifics, but I have a better idea. Stop and talk to folks in the neighborhood. Ask them about William Ryan. Ask them about warranty items. Be very, very leery, and be ready to fight for pretty much everything.
