I brought my mom here for an appointment. Everything went well at the front desk, both checking in…read moreand out, and with the physician she saw. The waiting area is large and spacious, and there are a lot of special parking spaces closer to the door for those with mobility issues. But there are some fundamental problems here that need to be addressed. The biggest issue is with the reception area, which I'm assuming is due to being short-staffed. There are 7 seats in the area, and even though there was a steady stream of patients coming in and going out, there were only 2 women working there. One handled check-in, the other handled check-out, and they were each inundated by frequent phone calls as well as the patients with who they were working. On average, each woman had to put 2 calls on hold per patient processed. While the woman handling check-ins was friendly and very efficient, check-in is a bottleneck. Any check-in takes a couple of minutes, but it takes significantly longer for first-time patients. These are people who most likely have mobility issues. There is one chair at each reception window, but beyond that, you have to STAND in line. Unless you are in a wheelchair or have a walker which allows you to sit, that's your option. When we checked in, mom was 2nd in line. When we checked out, there were 5 people in line, all needing to stand. Even an act of moving some chairs along the area where the line forms would be an improvement. My suggestion if you are coming here is to try for an early appointment to reduce the possible amount of time you might have to stand in line.

Finally broke down and decided to address my life long flat feet which over time have lead to…read morepainful bunions. By this time ( in my 40's) I've tried it all - bunion pads, inserts, toe spreaders, ankle braces...exercises, ice/heat...all thanks to Dr.Google. Nice facility, NP was very friendly and professional...the doctor? Late for the appointment and dismissive. Did X-rays which wadda ya know?! Revealed that I have...bunions. Not sure whether the doctor was having an off day or whether a slightly overweight, over 40 year old woman just wasn't important enough to take seriously. Yeah, I do have a career which keeps me on my feet plus a household and kids to manage so I would have to carefully consider surgery which would literally have me off my feet for weeks, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't consider it. The upshot of the whole appointment was to be told to buy "Spenco" inserts(model? Size?) and was given silicone bunion cushions. No exercises, no referral for PT, just a 'no need to see you again unless you're scheduling surgery '. Have yet to receive the bill but having received a bill from Saratoga Hospital which was over a year old, I'm guessing I'll get the sticker shock for my Thanks for Nothing doctor's visit sometime next year?
