I went to Dr. Harris for a root canal. It was the first one I've ever had and I was incredibly nervous. I had a consultation and the equipment was really old so it didn't help my reservations. Dr. Harris has been practicing since the 60s and it seems like he bought the big fixtures that include water, suction, drills, light, x-ray, and the such then, and hasn't updated since. Turns out for a root canal, all you need is a drill to make a small hole in the back of your tooth, then a smaller, longer drill head to bore out the root.
As you would expect from someone who's been practicing for 30-40 years, Dr. Harris was a pro and the procedure didn't hurt at all. He didn't talk much, but made lots of notes and did a great job and was quick about it too, and turns out you don't need new chair things to make a hole and do a good job. All of the hand tools, injections, fillings, etc. seemed up to date, so I was happy.
Like the other reviewer, I also sat in the weird confederate room. I agree that it is inappropriate to have that stuff up on the wall, but it wasn't in bad taste. It was presented like a collector would present maps, pictures, and dollar bills from the 1860s, no audacious confederate flags or racism or anything. He just has a bunch of old stuff on the wall.
