My story - I have been taking my dog to this vet for a year with minimal issues. However, I took my cat there earlier this week when she had some dramatic weight loss ever since a vacation a few weeks ago. Upon seeing her, they proceeded to go on about how sick she was, which didn't surprise me considering the weight loss. They insisted they had to do a full blood panel that cost $260 along with several other measures, bringing the bill up to over $400. I tried to ask which alternatives I could use and of course, everything was absolutely necessary. Luckily, I was able to pay this fee at that time. Upon the exam completion, I told the results would be back on Thursday. When I got home I noticed that I was double charged the exam and the medical waste fee and there was also a couple other mysterious descriptions on the bill. When I called to inquire, no one seem to know what was what but they did agree to refund me for the erroneous charge. While talking to the office on Wednesday afternoon to fix the bill issue, the receptionist informed me that my cats test results were in. I asked her what they were, and she claims she was not allowed to tell me over the phone and that she had to wait for the doctors to read them. OK, I get this - but expected someone to call me Thursday at a reasonable time. I called three times through their business hours at once I didn't hear from them by 12 or 1 o'clock today with no response. Finally, at 6 PM tonight I received a call back with the results. It indicated that she had a urinary tract infection, but the doctor was saying that they would like to do a culture on the urine to narrow down what the bacteria was. When I asked if they could give her a broad-spectrum anabiotic, she said that they "don't do that. "I asked what my next steps were and she said that the office was closing for a week due to a Covid outbreak and therefore they couldn't do anything. I asked if she could call in another antibiotic that was likely to work on the type of bacteria that they identified, and she says that they don't call in pet medication's to a human pharmacy ( Walgreens etc) and that it's "not their policy to call prescriptions into a pet pharmacy. " I'm like WTF?!?!? I asked what they expected me to do then, as my cat is obviously ill and needs treatment! She said that they call a friendly partner Vet that will agree to see their patients while they're closed down, and they'll ship their records, but I will still have to pay another exam fee and an additional test fees for them to make their own determination as to what is wrong with her! So basically I have to re-pay hundreds of dollars more to take her somewhere else because they refuse to provide care based on their results because they're the only pharmacy in town that will not call in a prescription to a pharmacy. I accused her of being money hungry at this point, to which she didn't deny but just said oh I can't have that conversation with you right now. I asked how she slept at night knowing that an animal is suffering because they refused to provide medication. She then cited the CDC guidelines for Covid. I get that they have to close down and I'm all for preventing the spread of Covid, but there is absolutely nothing about Covid that says that they cannot call in medication to a pet pharmacy like every other vet in the world. That is where they are being simply money hungry and absolutely sadistic and cruel. She then said, that she was sorry for my distress and that she feels she did her job by informing me of the results and informing me that they will be closed. I told her that she did not do her job in fact, and she basically just stole $400 from me for doing absolutely nothing but that if that helps her sleep at night then good for her. So now I'm out $$$$ and obviously will have to spend hundreds more to take her to a vet that will actually do their job and follow through and provide treatment on an animal that they examine. This is the most obscene misuse of power that I have ever seen, and obviously will never take either of my animals back there.

I was very excited to get my fur baby established here after hearing all of the great reviews from my friend. I have been going to my regular vet in my city for many years now. Although it took me 40 mins to get to this place, I was willing to make the drive and switch over to this office instead due to such high quality work I had heard about. Unfortunately I was immediately met by their front office staff who were quite unprofessional. I became aware of the mask requirement when I read a sign and told them I did not have one on me. However, there were two clients present without a mask on. I informed them that I did not need to wear one due to observing the other customers not having one either. They proceeded to let me know that "Well they're just dropping their dog off" and "we have immune compromised people in the back" Not to mention, I had just walked in and these other customers had been there well before I arrived conversing away with multiple staff members.. As I understand from their response: my "germs" while up at the reception area are infectious and warrant a mask, while the germs from the other customers without a mask won't find their way into the back of the office where their immune compromised staff are..... but mine will? I picked my poor dog up and walked out. I called the office and asked to speak to DOCTOR HUBER .. they asked who was calling... it was met with zero empathy or an apology. I waited for a while on hold, finally hung up. I was hoping to hear back from the doctor but I still have not heard anything. I am very disappointed as I had mentioned before this place was so highly recommended to me. I can respect rules and policies in place, but please do better and make sure that these standards are held in place for every single customer. Thank you.

They took the time to listen to my concerns and discussed every option (both cheap & expensive) for my tortoises care. Unlike past visits (stow/kent & memorial) to treat the parasites Paul has, none of the other vets ever gave us medication or suggested a change in diet. But Dr. Riggs clearly provided me with a few food choices that the internet & previous vets informed me were not options. As well as medication to treat the parasites. He even went over Paul's xrays with me & explained the image in a way that anyone could comprehend. The facility itself was very clean and I noticed a lot of sighs promoting saving the environment & some eco friendly products around the office :) Dr. Riggs is/or was on the state committee to fight against animal abuse in circuses- this guy deserves a medal in my book. Can't say enough about the awesomeness of the staff and the quality care my pet received!

These negative reviews cause me to wonder if the pet owners are negligent or just drama queens. What a joke. The office just called bullshit on all your antics and secretly hoped you would find another office. Anyway, the staff has always been wonderful, always. They genuinely care about our animals. But for us some of our critters are special needs and having a vet that is willing to work with us is just priceless. So many offices just don't want to make the office or are not set-up to deal with it. One of our dogs had a serious infection but over the course of six months we had it beat. We cried, laughed, and worked through it together. Our old dog was all the better for it. When he passed on a few years later at 14 the gals worked with us again, the whole office pulling through for him. We still have the card they sent. As for the new puppy, good grief... what a show he puts on. He has those ladies googling all over him. Shots... no problem. Butt thermometer... no problem. Nail trim... no problem. Meanwhile when we get home he turns back into the little savage he really is. Little trickster. Who wants to run laps?! If you're a good honest pet owner trying to do the right thing, you and your pet will be in good hands. Highly recommend the entire staff there.

Sadie does better when we are not around so they took her out of the room to examine her, they came back and said it was a tumor and she needed surgery, I did find it strange my bill was only $85 dollars, she also got her Rabies shot, no blood work, no X-rays, but I trusted them and I was upset, no guarantees, and they would also spay her while they were doing it, they said they would email me an estimate, they did, slightly over $1700, I made an appointment, my family was devastated, 2 days later I noticed the lump was smaller, another day it was gone, took her to another vet, they said it was probably mastitis, but couldn't be sure because the lump was gone, long story short, my dog is fine and she could have had unnecessary surgery and broke me financially I do not know if they are incompetent or money hungry, either way I strongly DO NOT recommend them
