We've also had the pleasure of working with Dr. Anita Kinscher, who has been just as fantastic as the other two. The reception team is always warm and welcoming. On a side note, waiting area has been updated within the couple years and always feels clean. This is a stark contrast to my previous vet in Strongsville, where the front desk staff often seemed annoyed to answer the phone or check someone in. But after today, I'm done. The front desk staff, specifically Laura, is a nightmare, and dealing with her is the worst part of coming here. Laura has been rude, curt, and combative since my very first phone call three years ago. The only time she was ever nice to me was for about five seconds when she thought my last name connected me to a wealthy local family. The second I told her we weren't related, she went right back to treating me like an inconvenience. I literally tense up every time I have to pick up medication refills because I dread the possibility of dealing with her. This week, she completely crossed the line. My cat has an ear infection, and after days of getting hung up on by their 8:00 AM "lottery" system for urgent appointments, I had to take her to the emergency vet. When I called this clinic back to ask if a vet could adjust her meds, Laura flat-out refused to help. She forcefully said "a vet will not talk to you" then flat out lied and claimed it's "illegal" for any doctor in the building to help me unless they had physically seen my cat before. Then she decided to play doctor herself. She insisted that ear drops were the only option for my cat, which is completely untrue. When I told her I didn't want to force my senior cat--who has kidney disease--to sit in a stressful emergency room for 8+ hours just for a medication tweak, her brilliant solution was to suggest I start giving her subcutaneous fluids at home just so she could endure sitting in a carrier all day. We haven't even crossed the bridge of doing home fluids yet, but she's handing out unhinged instructions on it like it's nothing. It is completely over the top for a receptionist to deny access to a doctor, make up fake laws, and hand out medical advice for a sick, senior animal. Laura is a massive liability. I don't recommend this place at this point. The medical care is good from the actual veterinarians but you have to get past a combative, rude gatekeeper first.

No "are you ready" no sweet good byes to our baby as she fell asleep in our arms. A cold metal table as she whimpered from the pain of the IV. Wrapped in a garbage bag. My wife barely had time to reach her head for a kiss as she closed her eyes. Any animal deserves better than what this vet has to offer. It's taken me years to be able to even talk about it. They don't take the animal out of the room or out of your sight at all, the vet took his time getting to know her, and he talked to me quite a while. I will say, it can be hard to actually get someone on the phone - they don't seem to have enough staff in reception to answer the phones, and the call back time has been ~3 days each time I've tried. My wife and I were at maximum stress bringing her in. Yes, the wait was long at nearly three and a half hours of trying to keep our kitty from trying to clean herself. But the people there were so incredibly kind and patient with both us and our kitty. And that's what was what was truly important to us. Turned out to be a ruptured anal gland, and they took amazing care and were incredibly sweet with her. She came home patched up, with good directions for the medicine and other supplies we would need to ensure the area didn't get infected. I also noticed how often they would get down to the pets level for all the dogs we saw brought in, and really try and keep animals and their owners calm. It's stressful, and it's a long night (we were there from midnight until 6am), but my cat means the world to my wife and I and we couldn't of asked for more caring staff.

Our dog suddenly went limp, labored breathing and white gums. We tried to take her to West Park, and they turned us away because they were at capacity. We didn't realize that MedVet was 5 min further away, but we were directed there. We called while we were on our way, and they were waiting for us when we arrived. She was rushed back, where they did an initial exam and got her stable. It was very helpful to have the monitors up to show where our pet was in the line of order to be seen. While we're waiting, a few more critical patients came in, and the staff was so on top of it. It turns out our girl suffered anaphylactic shock from something, perhaps a bug bite. She ended up staying two nights, and we visited her each day for about an hour. The staff was so incredible, I don't think I could ever work in an environment. As expected, it was pricier, but the staff went above and beyond for us. We never worried about Luna while she was in their care. On the second day, the doctor called me and spent 20 min walking through her chart, results and next steps with me. I really appreciated it. Hopefully we will never need to go back, but if we do, we know where to go.

They had my dog with prior seizure activity (that they were aware of)…read moreon a monthly prevention labeled with a giant "Do not use for dogs with prior seizure activity" warning. When I discovered this myself on Chewy.com, I brought it up and requested a different monthly preventative. It was clearly a problem that I questioned. The Vet encouraged me to continue my dog on the seizure-warning preventative but advised adding a seizure control medication on top of it... One we paid her practice for every month, of course. You can also expect a 45 minute to an hour wait/appointment time at this place, regardless of what the appointment is for. It is, without a doubt, the slowest service at a vet I've ever experienced-- and I've had dogs all my life. Additionally, they only let people inside who show proof of COVID vaccination.. just in case you're not vaccinated and would like to know that. The two stars is because they did do a great job on my dog's spay and hernia surgery. You can hardly even tell there was a long incision made, so that's noteworthy. After all of this, I switched Veterinarians, wait no longer than 2 minutes for an appointment, and was presented alternative monthly preventative options without seizure warning labels for consideration. Amazing.
