Willard Park is named after Alexander H. Willard whom was a private in the Corps of Discovery ( Lewis and Clark Expedition ). In 1803 Willard was one of 50 men to join Lewis and Clark on a mission to map the West.
Known as a strong man and a talented blacksmith. He settled in South Sac, Lower Stockton Road, known as "Georgetown" which eventually became the town of "Franklin." Daughters of the Founders and Patriots of America recognizes him as the" Giant of Georgetown"
Willard Park is 6.3 Acres in size and is located in East Franklin Elk Grove California. The park has an open multi purpose area, walking paths, picnic area with picnic tables, benches, shaded structure (Gazebo), a baseball/softball field and play area for kids with slides, swings, and climbing structures.
