Yesterday, on 1.9.20, I called and spoke with Daniel with WVT - Salem to schedule a medical transport ride to a doctor appointment for my mother, who is 84-years-old, has stage 3 congestive heart failure, is in constant A-Fib and was hospitalized the day before for dangerously low blood pressure, kidney stones and a UTI. My mother is also recovering from a broken hip and uses a walker due to balance, pain and fatigue issues. She is very, very unstable on her feet. I told Daniel that I needed a driver to pick up my Mother the following morning (today) at 9:30am for a 10:30am doctor appointment. I told Daniel to schedule the driver to bring a wheelchair to my mother's assisted living apartment and pick her up there, as she was too weak to walk to the lobby to access her ride, since she had just gotten out of the hospital the day before. Daniel confirmed that he had a driver available that could do a 9:30am pickup, and that the driver would pick my mother up in her apartment. Daniel then confirmed her apartment number. At 9:50 this morning, my mother called me to let me know that the driver had not yet arrived. In a panic, I immediately called Daniel and reported this to him. Daniel said that the driver was indeed there. I told him that my mother had just called me 30 seconds ago and the driver was NOT there. Come to find out, the driver had been sitting outside "waiting" for my mother to come out! Daniel reported to me that the driver had not read the "comments" section on his work order, which instructed him to pick my mother up from her apartment, and that he would give me a 25% discount off the bill. And, as if that wasn't enough, when the driver arrived at my Mother's doctor's office, he didn't get the wheelchair out for her and made her walk from the parking space into the doctor's office WITHOUT HER MEDICALLY NECESSARY WALKER (which she left in her apartment thinking she would have access to a wheelchair) OR THE WHEELCHAIR HE HAD INSIDE HIS TRANSPORT VEHICLE!! What kind of a dunce is he??!! Then, when he came back to pick my mother up after her appointment, he waited in his vehicle for her to come out! My mother's 90-year-old boyfriend that was with her, who is legally blind and deaf, had to walk outside in the rain storm we had today, with wind gusts of 40 mph, and demand that the driver bring the wheelchair inside to get my mother! I was livid, as you can imagine, when I heard all of this! I immediately called Daniel and reported the story to him, told him that I would not be paying the bill to transport my mother from Woodburn to NW Salem, and asked him to have the manager call me. I never received that call. I told Daniel that if my mother had fallen while the driver watched her walk unassisted and supported, contrary to instructions on his work order, this would have become a serious legal issue...... THINK TWICE BEFORE EVER SCHEDULING A RIDE FOR YOUR LOVED WITH WILLAMETTE VALLEY TRANSPORT - SALEM! There were numerous mistakes made during this trip. The driver did not know where he was going when he arrived in NW Salem and weaved between lanes without using his signal, it appeared to my mother. The driver told my mother that the reason he was late was because he forgot the wheelchair and had to go back and get it; THE WHEELCHAIR THAT HE DIDN'T USE WITH MY MOTHER UNTIL HER 90-YEAR OLD BOYFRIEND DEMANDED IT! There is no excuse for what happened today and the risk WVT-Salem put my mother in!! I just noticed that I received the bill for this trip in my email inbox: $83. Can't give negative stars or I would. The emergency entrance to the hospital is a FIRE ZONE. Clearly marked that there is no parking. There was a company van parked in the NO PARKING ZONE for more than 10 minutes in front of the emergency room entrance to the Willamette Valley Medical Center today. Saw the driver once and that was while an elderly and weak patient was being unloaded from another vehicle facing the wrong direction in the opposite lane (because the Willamette Valley Transport driver thinks they are that important!). Shame on him. Management should take disciplinary action on that driver. He could have parked in the lot and moved his vehicle into position when the patient he was waiting to transport was discharged. Shame. read more

Our family had such a great experience with Willamette Valley Transport! The drivers were professional, thoughtful and went out of their way to be kind to my medically fragile mother. BEWARE!!! This company wanted upfront payment on transport of my mom from the hospital to a physical rehab center. We made sure it was taken care of. Then weeks later they started sending bills and left a message claiming they weren't paid and "offered" payment arrangements. When called on it they 1st claimed the $ was still owed then backtracked after being told we had the receipt, then hung up on when asked if they were incompetent of trying to rip off my elderly mom. Then a week later they sent a receipt and included a note that stated they would never transport my mom again because of my call. Guess they don't like being called out for trying to cheat people!! Wonder how many other people they try to do this to! read more

First your driver was 30 minutes late for pick-up. I was told and received text conformation pick up was 5:45. Driver did not pick up till 6:18. I am in the back of one of your vans right now. Your driver is yelling at me and telling me I'm rude because I don't want to engage in conversation with him. He also banged my leg because he straddled my leg when tightening me down in my chair. He had my leg in between his legs? Very inappropriate and unsafe. I am actually afraid for my own safety! He is driving reckless now because he's angry. I'm trapped. He keeps asking me questions about where I live, about my heritage, my name, if I'm married and if I have children. I told him I don't wish to discuss my personal life I don't like talking about myself. He started yelling at me. Screaming that I'm rude! Telling me I'm rude for not making conversation. All his other customers talk to him but since I don't I'm a bitch. Serious?! He's serious. This man is dangerous. He told me he was doing me a favor? I need to be polite to him and answer his questions. I told him he is a hired driver. All I want is a ride home, not conversation. I would call and complain about him but I'm afraid he will hurt me if he gets as mad as he did over nothing. Just because I am handicapped and need a shuttle does not mean I am subject to conversation with your driver. At no time was I rude. I video taped him yelling at me. read more

My mom was transported from Salem Hospital to St. Benedictine's in Mt. Angel, and was horrified by her experience. The driver was reckless, kept slamming on the brakes, and was careening around corners (all the while my mom is experiencing this while being strapped to a stretcher.). My Mom was screaming for them to stop, and they just laughed it off. They said nothing when she told them she'd hurt her back. read more

Willamette Mobile Transport drivers are unfriendly and rude towards private citizens whom themselves are dealing with their own handicap loved one needing to load and unload in designated handicap Hospital loading zoned. Parking taking up over a third of the loading zone for nearly an hour multiple times a day each week that I personally observed when private citizens are trying to load and unload their handicapped or limited mobility persons. When approached that the company driver might think about at least to load up his 8 foot extended wheelchair lift moving it to park so others could utilized the space the driver was rude, turned his back to me, and went inside his van closing the front doors becoming aggravated towards myself and my spouse. There is a 10-15 minute window at this location for transportation companies to be in that loading area Willamette Mobile Transport routinely day in and day out abuses the guidelines acting as if others are lesser in need of this compassionate opportunity than their lazy behavior abuses which causes difficulties to others who deal with loading and unloading their limited mobility or wheelchair confined persons. I'm only a private citizen who has to transport their loved one to multiple appointments each week to various clinics and hospital settings. If this only happened occasionally it would not be a big deal but in this last 10 days I have observed this rudeness multiple times with no results from being nice asking these lazy rude drivers to observe the rules and regulations of the locations they take clients. Shame on the manager for not doing field supervision or belittling someone when they reported these lazy rude behavior drives to said supervising personal.
