This morning I went to have a root canal procedure by Dr. Jay Bayat. While the procedure went okay,…read moreI became very concerned about this clinic's practices. After having my mouth deadened, I was waiting for the operation to begin. No one was in the room with me. I felt a rubbing along my left side while I was laying fully reclined in the chair. There was a large dog next to me. Not mine. He licked the left side of my face. I spoke up and asked that the dog be removed. There may have been cursing. Mine. The dog was removed. The procedure then was completed. At the end of the process, I mentioned to Dr. Bayat that a dog should not have been in the room. He said it was okay with OSHA rules and called me an "angry old man." I'd never consented to a dog being in the room. He also said if I had not been scheduled at the clinic, I would not have gotten an appointment anywhere for three to four months. Upon leaving the clinic, I asked the bill be sent to me as I wanted time to contact OSHA, the Oregon Dental Association, and my Medicare Advantage insurance company. What happened at Salem Endodontic Associates today was the most unprofessional medical behavior I've ever experienced. Dr. Roger Sauer

Dr. Duffy & his staff completely understand this and have always scheduled me for extra time so I can take "breaks" during routine care or any type of other care. In January I had my routine dental cleaning & check-up and let Dr. Duffy know I had a "lump" on the roof of my mouth. After he looked at it he said I needed to have a biopsy done & he immediately referred me to an Oral Surgeon & got me an appointment with them that day! Long story short, I had a tumor in the roof of my mouth but thankfully it was diagnosed in time & after having another surgery the pathology came back clean on all margins. I am beyond thankful that Dr. Duffy was so proactive, knowledgeable and realized the potential seriousness of the situation. Dr. Duffy and his staff are kind, understanding, thorough & absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend them!! They are very professional, understanding, patient and sincere and the absolute best!!!

To the point where even as I child I was having panic attacks. Every dentist I had treated me like a scared little kid even up until adult hood. So I stopped going. My fillings needed replaced, I had a cracked tooth, I had a cavity or two, and I was letting my mouth go to hell all because of my fear. But then I found this office, and everything changed. Dr. Bateman and his staff treated my anxiety seriously. They offered sedation methods that calmed me down to the point of WANTING to get treatment done. They have been patient, kind, and extremely accommodating. Not only can I eat normally again, but my smile looks better than ever and I have a new confidence I lost for years. If any of this sounds like you and your experiences: don't hesitate. You won't regret your time with this team.

They were not able to see me until January 29th leaving with a hole in my front tooth. They then changed the appointment to February 2nd. I voiced m opinion in a letter written to the dentist. He then called me on February 2nd refusing to fix the bridge. I also asked repeatedly in emails to send me my records and the name of the dentist that would work on my bridge. They sent a document that was encrypted and I could not open. They refused to send me my payments that I have made. They also refused to send me the information where the original dentist is practicing. Within the past year alone, this denture has broken three separate times. This is unacceptable for work of this cost and nature. While I understand that the dentist who originally completed the work no longer practices there and that the office has changed ownership, Salem Family and Cosmetic Dentistry purchased this practice and assumed responsibility for its patients and prior dental work. I have also been told that you will not repair the denture unless I pay upfront, allegedly due to my "attitude." I am upset because I have every right to be given that I have had to deal with three failures of a very expensive denture in less than a year.
