My boyfriend took me to Prado Equestrian for my birthday and we had such an amazing time! This was…read moremy first time horse back riding and the staff were so friendly and helpful & definitely made it comfortable for us. I rode on Mikey, one of their ponies. (If you happen to get Mikey, beware - he likes to trot! They said he trots so that he keeps up during the trail rides) Scared the crap out of me at first, but ended up being a lot more fun than just walking. This is a walk-only trail ride so keep this in mind too. Prices were fairly reasonable - $30 per hour/person, $40 for 2 hours/person. I'll be reaching out fairly soon to get some lessons with one of the girls. It's always been on my bucket list of things to do and feel comfortable enough to do it with the girls at Prado. Thank you again for such an amazing experience and will definitely see you all soon!!

We ended up having to retire him to pasture a little over 3 years (he was 16.5) due to on permanent long lasting damage from this ranch. I will NEVER forgive you Carol for ruining my Horse and ruining the life we could have had together. If you ever think I forgot what you did to my baby boy you are wrong. Board here at your own risk. If she is still the owner BEWARE. She knows nothing about horses and monetizes everything she can. She said "just talk to them and they will be fine with the dump truck dumping DG right next to the stall" okay Carol -- because pretty sure no horse owner with a brain ever said that! To this day, I have always thought how lucky and thankful I was to get such great instruction so I can learn how to do what I was crazy about... HORSES! ( And, even crazier than boys! Which is crazy too!) But I have fond memories of my first ride on my first horse along Serrano creek. He had the opportunity of giving the most thrilling adrenalin rush with all he's got on a hell ride bent for the length of the creek , in and out of the trail to creek til we got at the end..he stopped, spun around on 1 hoof and booked all the way back to the barn! I got off of him and said to myself..."OMG, this is AMAZING!" It was scarry, extremely challenging, but I was HOOKED! Let me add this was a hackney trotter horse my dad bought off a guy at the harness races at the Orange Co. Fair..an EX-harness racer!! He didn't get to run much in his career (..lolol, Me laughing at my lil funny I just now said and thought, "how come I didn't think about that before?" Duh!!), but he sure did that first day we saddled up, at the stables where I took my first riding lessons, so I could run like the wind down the creekside of Serrano on the lil hackney pony named Rascal and to this day still, I am still riding horses, thanks to the instructors at this place! Good enough to instruct and prepare a 7 yr old girl for the first thrill of her life, that feeling of flying thru the air with the power of motion and the freedom below you and that moment where you fall in love with riding. It's a beautiful thing. Yes, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this riding academy for anyone who's as horse crazy as I was! Be safe! Hallie Brown lake forest, ca. 1973-84

He taught my son how to stop and go, slightly try and do turns. I definitely recommend if you have a child under Spectrum or a disabled child they will work with you.

We were searching for a place that would include our son Andy, believe in him, challenge him, and…read morenever give up on him. We found that at Fun with Horses in Brea. Andy has autism and developmental disabilities, and finding a welcoming program has not always been easy. At other places, his sounds and laughter seemed to make people uncomfortable. At Fun with Horses, he is embraced for who he is. They meet him where he is, work at his pace, and encourage him to try and learn--with patience, guidance, and attention to safety. Andy is taking horsemanship lessons, and what he has accomplished in just a few sessions has amazed me. His support staff send me videos, and watching him so happy, focused, and engaged brings me to tears. As a mom, there is something incredibly powerful about seeing other people recognize your child's potential and give him the opportunity to show what he can do. He looks forward to going and asks for his horses! That says so much. As both a mother and a special education teacher, I especially recommend Fun with Horses to families of children or adults with autism and developmental disabilities who are looking for an accepting, encouraging place to learn. Their approach respects the individual while creating opportunities for growth. It is about an hour's drive for us, and it is worth every minute. We have tried other places, and finding this kind of acceptance and support means more than I can express. Thank you, Cheryl and the Fun with Horses team, for believing in Andy. I cannot wait to see him continue to grow.
