Once I'm inside it's a different matter as I get pulled towards the handbags and shoes and clothing,which is easily done as you have to walk through all these lovely items just to get to the top floor to change currency! This Debenhams store is the anchor store for Centre Court Shopping Centre in Wimbledon. It isn't the biggest department but has the full variety of different departments. I had a successful shopping trip here today. The top floor had a lot of homeware and kitchen gadgets - fortunately, a lot of my friends are foodies and love to cook and entertain. The middle level is mainly ladies clothing but the ground floor yielded more success with menswear, fragrances & cosmetics and also a gift section with some fun things to give. The idea is simple: TK Maxx buys clothes at the end of their line for peanuts and sells them for just above peanuts to the public. Their selling point is brands for a lot less, which is true and attractive enough in itself. For me however, as a gentleman of some height who struggles to find trousers in other stores and then generally gets ripped-off when he does, TK Maxx is a God-send. Not only do they buy loads of US brands which do my size, but they also very conveniently organise all their clothes by size, meaning I can simply stroll up to the rack in question and then sort through all the clothes that are likely to fit me in one fell swoop. No trekking to each store for the same outcome. AND it's super-cheap, typically £30 for trousers, which for a tall guy, is hard to find. So TK Maxx, I salute you. May you long find business in these here shores.

Now I give it a three star rating as its still better than many other places but not what it used to be due to inconsistencies. I always buy electricals from here as large domestic appliances come with an automatic two year guarantee and televisions with a five year guarantee. Due to challenging circumstances in the space of over six weeks have had to purchase a Bosch washing machine, Sony TV and Bosch dishwasher. The washing machine salesman was excellent, managed to match the Bentalls offer (the other large department store in Kingston) and all was done. The TV was a hassle because I spoke to three people and none had the authorization to take payment over the phone so I had to go into the store, wait for an available salesperson just to make payment as I knew what I wanted and then wait for ages to collect the TV. Previously could phone up, place the order and then just go to collect it as it would be ready. Most recently ordered a dishwasher, the salesman was happy to match the Bentalls offer but then he couldn't process this through the till and so he asked an older grumpy looking colleague who then asked the department manager who said no. I was disappointed because the salesman had agreed and it was only because he seemed inexperienced that he didn't know how to process the discount through the till so the transaction cost me an extra 45 pounds unnecessarily. Its only because I like the idea of the profits being shared amongst the workers of the John Lewis Partnership that I placed the order otherwise would have gone back to Bentalls. When I queried that a few weeks earlier the salesman had matched their offer he just said "you were lucky", I thought no you agreed to it too its just didn't know how to process it through the till. The delivery service is first class with all delivery drivers cheerful, polite and helpful.

This store of M&S is massive. It is set over two floors and this includes a large food hall as…read morewell. It shares the building with Sainsburys which is next door so the car park is very large and I've never had any problem parking there. As the festive season is upon us there is currently a big section on the 1st floor with 3 for 2 gifts as well as Christmas trees and lights. The trees as on display too in case you are unsure what it would look like when out of the box. I recently made a visit here due to their 'spectacular 20% off day' and made a mistake when purchasing some items. I had to visit the customer service section and I was impressed as to how friendly and helpful they were. I also spoke to a few staff on the shop floor as well who I also found to be very friendly and helpful. Therefore in my experience, the customer service here is fantastic!!

There's a Topshop, Miss Selfridge, cafe and Game in here amongst other clothing / retail stores... This may all sound great but I've never, ever been that excited about this Debenhams at all. It's really unfortunate. Although there are lots of clothes, you are just better off going to central London as it's a case of lots of choice but really nothing amazing to choose from really. The best thing about this place though is the make-up counters! You can get everything here from Benefit to Chanel. Argos is great for small electrical items and other stuff for the home. This branch has a row of…read moretills which are rarely manned. The Customer Services desk is in fact a till (who knew!) and is your best bet for being served. The manager has an 'unfortunate' manner. I don't think she's a natural at dealing with customers. Fever is a shop I discovered on Margaret Street, tucked behind the realms of the Oxford Street. The shop features some amazing pieces - all vintage style with funky designs - very unique and unlike anything I have seen before. They also have some great sale items such as a pair of vintage shoes down to £25 from around £60. They sell some gorgeous dresses and it is a shame the shop isn't more prominent. I guess the fashionistas of London are all aware that the true fashion gems are all hidden away behind the High Street giants, so I'm sure this shop won't stay undiscovered for too long!

Not to say they're expensive but there were some super cute vintage things priced in the low to mid £20 range which is more in my ballpark and took the bulk of my attention. Although I didn't buy anything on that first trip, I recently returned determined to make one of those vintage dresses mine. I tried on three items from the vintage racks but nothing fit quite right. I was bummed. The staff was pleasant and helpful and I would love to buy something from this shop. I'm not sure how often they replenish their vintage items but I'll be checking in every once in a while for a fresh perusal.
