Spacious double-fronted store in the large Shires Shopping Centre in Trowbridge…read more I have to admit, I do feel a litle claustrophobic in The Shires sometimes - to my mind the ceilings aren't quite high enough and you can get the feeling of wandering deeper and deeper underground, lost for ever in a labyrinth of corridors.. or maybe I just watch too many horror films!! Apart from that, New Look is good to wander around in as it's very light and brightly lit and has a nice open feel to it. The clothes are of course cheap & cheerful, and I do confess to a sneaking habit of purchasing the occasional bargain there, as to be honest they look good and the quality isn't half bad for the price you pay. The assistants are usually busy at tills, and (maybe I've just been in at the wrong times) aren't around much on floor duty to assist with advice. It's very much what you see is what you get. But definately a store to pick up something as a treat that won't break the bank.

Now my mother brought me up not to be greedy - but markets have an effect on me, especially plant stalls, silver, faric and leather goods. There is every thing from bongs to veggies, bags to embridery threads, arts and crafts, gosh probably a beer stall too. Most of the vendors are very friendly - I always find plant sellers are on my planet! Some are a little indifferent but at least that's not going to ruin the fun. You don't need to leave lots of dosh behind, browsing is fun. And theres a couple of good pubs just nearby!

However it seems in recent years the turnover of shops has been quite high with shops often opening and closing and being replaced with other shops quite quickly That said its often interesting to see what shop next fills the gaps. The market contains a wide range of goods and the stall holders are always friendly and can answer my questions. There is a stall selling all types of material, the music one, one selling smoking implements and lots more. I enjoy looking round the music exchange one becaus you never know what to expect!

Its very easy to find and has a free car park that always has spaces. Its not in the town centre so great for popping in if you need something or have forgotten something, which is what I normally do. The shop has lots of stock covering all types of outdoor activites with pretty good prices. I bought a new tent from here a few years back and found them very helpful and listened to what I was looking for and helped me choose the correct one.
