There's a large denim section on the ground floor, along with the ladieswear, whilst upstairs there's a large mens section, offering both a range of smart clothing and suits, as well as casual wear and accessories, with watches and belts at particularly reasonable prices. Denim is their main focus, and Dulay is one of the largest denim retailers in the south west. They stock all the main brands like Levi and Wrangler, but cheaper than you're likely to find elsewhere. A good team of staff (which is quite large - there's always someone available to assist) complete the package for a very good shop.

Dulay isn't a place I'd even considered before, to be perfectly honest, but as I found myself walking past I decided to go in and check it out. They do a good range of jeans - although I couldn't find any baggy enough for my preference, there's plenty to choose from if you're into average leg widths. The staff are friendly, but not overbearing as they can be in other places and the prices aren't bad either. I didn't pick anything up this time, but I'm sure I'll head back at some point in the future.

AllSaints - Soft, comfy knitwear, statement print shirts, slick tailoring, our iconic leathers, 24/7 footwear and so much more. Wear them your way.

So I was so disappointed when this tiny version opened up in Cabots Circus. Split into two floors, with women's clothes on the bottom, men on the top (so to speak) there is nothing exciting or different about this store. I know that All Saints is on the expensive side of high street fashion, but it seems like they've taken the pricest designs they've had and squished them into this unit. When I buy something from All Saints, I know I'm paying for quality and sustainability. And there's no denying that what Bristol's store offers isn't well made and will last for years. But if you're looking for something unique and beautiful, I'd pop across the road to Urban Outfitters who offer a wider range and better value for money.

They always have my size (even in the sales which is an achievement on its own!) and the sales assistants are friendly and helpful. Right, now for the downfall...it is so expensive! ( low staff moral I'm guessing). Then to find the exit entrance at the back of the store has now closed permanently due to store theft.. idea... put a security guard on the exit entrance. this is extremely concerning from a health and safety perspective as a emergency exit, everyone running for the stairs in a fire of a building of that size is dangerous. do better primark!

I've tried to shop more ethically, honest I have. But something about this store keeps driving me back. I thought I was cured when all Bristol had to offer was the worst of the worst Primark's, with their poor selection and disorganised layout. But then they opened a super-store sized outlet and I just couldn't resist. I'm not saying it's the best one I've been to, and I've been to MANY, but I've never come out empty handed. My favourite thing about the brand new shiny Primark is their range of accessories which take up almost a third of the ground floor. Their underwear department is a bit lacking, but their sparkly dresses and cheap hosiery more than make up for it. The queues are still long, and you need a patient of a saint to trawl through the rails, but compared to most Primark stores this one is well managed and easy to navigate.

Nothing is of the highest quality, but if you're someone who likes to have lots of cheaper things rather than a few expensive things, then Apricot is a good shop to choose. Lovely cotton dresses, tops and shirts, drapy cardigans, each no more than £25. This is the sort of shop that has quick turnover of stock so you don't feel you're buying the top that everyone else is buying at the moment, which can happen with some of the bigger high street shops. Perching on the corner of Cabot Circus, Apricot feels like the shabbier cousin or younger sister of the big, expensive shops in the new development.

Unlike some of the other non-chain stores in Broadmead Apricot has been designed well and the presentation of the store is welcoming and the window displays really do draw you in. On walking into the shop I was not amazed by the service, that is not to say I was disappointed, the shop assistants were amicable and provided a decent service but nothing extraordinary. However, the products and the feel of the store were a very pleasant surprise. The clothes are on trend but different enough to distinguish Apricot from Primark or Topshop. Lots of pretty prints and well placed frills, and the dress that my girlfriend 'just had to buy'; 'just off white with fantastic black piping shoulder details!' Apparently (I have no idea what that means). I was immediately struck by the prices- for the quality there are very cheap - I am definitely heading back as there are many bargains to be had.

Kids only have to shuffle across the path to get from H&M to this store so when I come in here I do actually feel about 60 years old. The layout is pants, it doesn't feel comfortable. They have huge window displays which are fantastic but the extra height inside isn't utilised. The only positive thing is that you can get into Topman without being too conspicuous - the mens tshirts are always more interesting than the girls and their size extra small is a girls size 10 - you may need to customise the neckline though. Being an absolute enemy of their mega-store on Oxford Street, this store suits me down to a T. I'm always amazed by what they can fit into the teeny tiny store: a personal shopper, Office, a maternity section, accessories, and men's and women's fashions. They also stock several lines including boutique and Kate Moss which makes the store feel unique, interesting and bang on trend. The only thing that lets them down is their slow service as they often have queues leading well into the shops. Their sales aren't too exciting, but the clothes are affordable enough that there's no need to wait!

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I am in fact all that stylish, but I do like to go and have a sift round TK Maxx anyway. The chains approach is to take brand names clothes, pile 'em high and sell them a bit cheaper than the RRP. This means you can find some real gems here but it does take a fair bit of searching of a little luck to manage it. The Bristol TK Maxx differs only in being slightly more Bristolian. The staff are friendly and usually not to be found. You'll here a request for all staff to go to the checkout once, twice, then four more times before the person on the till gives up.
