3.5 stars. This location is ok. They don't have the biggest clothing section and the last few times I've been to the food court they've been out of items. I went for specific clothing and food items today and the food was out of stock and the clothing isn't available at this location (which I should have checked before but was going by anyway). They pricing on the sushi shelf also didn't match what I paid for. It was £1.10 more expensive! read more

I've continued to avoid Starbucks for my coffee since I was charged 5 pence for a plastic cup of tap water in Starbucks, Portsmouth, England. As we tour this 'green and pleasant land' we suss out M&S cafes for coffee. They are our trusted go to brand at home. The staff - just like here in this store in Bath centre - are mega polite, the cafe tables are kept clean (not Starbucks greatest strength) the coffee is darn good, there's always toilets and if you are there after 3pm there's a coffee and cake deal running now with any coffee and a slice of cake £3. I got a slice of delicious Victoria sponge with my cappuccino and they cheerfully served up iced tap water that was not only free but it was plentiful too. The coffee and cake deal after 3pm is cheaper than a tall cappuccino in Starbucks too. We noticed too that M&S is now selling other brands like Clarke's, Smiggle and Jaeger. There are two fundamental truths in business - the only constant is change and customers make pay days. Go M&S. read more

Thank you M & S Cafe for such a delightful experience Although The queue was unending, and the blood curdling screams of several young children echoed loudly, the four cafe staff remained calm, courteous and efficient. They brewed seemingly endless cups of various coffees, exchanged pleasantries with every customer and brought out impressive variety of breakfast toastsie things at breakneck speed. Well done!! I am quite simply in love with this Marks and Spencer. You may think they would differ much from branch to branch, but you'd be wrong. Every member of staff I have needed assistance from has gone out of their way to help and give the best customer service possible. Their sales are unbelievable and regular - I have often managed to get a high quality dress reduced from £40 to £5. Just beware of the desperate women who will happily claw you to get the last size 12 dress from the rack. The underwear department is perfectly laid out, and organised and I've never found it difficult to find my size. Their food section is equally as good with a range of prices to suit any budget, well organised and stocked shelves and fast moving queues. And the food itself, well; 'it's not just food... it's M&S food'. I wouldn't worry about waiting for things to be reduced - they rarely are at this branch. M and S is pretty much the same wherever you go. Be it covnetry leicester or bath. The only differences are the size of the stores. They definately have better fashion sense with more competitive prices nowdays. It does feel somewhat a bit of a tight squeeze in some departments which sint great especially when it comes to christmas. Too much hassle for browsing purposes. as said lots of staff are helpyful and pleasant. Good store from a great name read more

I can quite happily get lost in this store! At the very least, the time just melts away once I start browsing and that's it, I'm gone!! I love the clothes departments, the layouts are always very user-friendly and even though M&S isn't my first choice (or even second choice) for fashion clothes, I enjoy the sumptious displays. They have an excellent lingerie department upstairs. I recall getting measured for a couple of new bras when I was several months pregnant, and the service was excellent, professional and courteous. The gift department is the main place I tend to get lost in - such lush items, I want to buy the lot!! And don't get me started on the 'Simply Food' section.. read more

Set over three floors, with a particularly good food area on the ground floor. Recently refurbished, the clothes hanging is quite close together, so difficult to browse when it's busy or with the kids. Kids clothes are all a bit fancy (not much for just playing in the garden). Ladies has Limited Collection and Autograph as well as per una. Cafe Revive is busy but does great soup - I've never had to wait for a seat once I've paid my money. Has toilets, which is unusual in Bath! Also now has a technology section, TVs come with 5 year guarantee (I bought one!) and free delivery + set up. read more

The chocolate chip shortbreads here are the best in the world, without a shadow of a doubt, and I will stand by that for years to come, I'm sure. Try one of these bad boys out on an afternoon where you're craving something sweet to fill a hole and you'll never look back. Aside from that, I found that this particular store had a fine range of more gift-like food goods for a present or something to share back at the office. For some reason, their tea, milk and biscuits just have that extra level of quality that brings a smile to your face. A brilliant Mars & Spencer branch here in Bath. Set over 4 huge floors it's a great selection of M&S goodies! The ground floor houses the food hall (open til 7pm) which is pretty big and has a big range of all their gorgeous foods, as well as a great lunchtime sandwich area, they sell magazines and papers here too. Also on the ground floor is ladieswear the new range of younger items which are more fashionable than their reputation suggests. Upstairs you have the underwear which as usual meets their great standards for basics and also the more fancy items, and the rest of womenswear such as shoes and accessories and kids as well. On upwards to the men's where they house a great range of suits and shirts at good prices and finally homeware on the top. This M&S also has an exchange bureau and toilets. read more

This is not as big as the cribbs one, but it is a fare size. The departments are a bit squeeze in and has a closed in feeling. I suppose it was converted and expanded over the years. The clothes are to close together and it is a nightmare to shop here at Christimas. I have to know what I am shopping for or I will leave it, not browsing here! I do like M&S though, the clothes are so much better than they used to be. Also the value is there, they now sell at decent prices and try hard to attract the right customers. I think there Christmas line is interesting and the 3 for 2 offers are really good. Staff are friendly as ever and helpful when asked. read more

After looking for a reputable place to eat with good food and quick service, my sister and I experienced neither on Bank Holiday Monday in the Bath store and certainly made the wrong choice. We ordered the Moroccan chicken dish after waiting in a quite short queue for some time for our order to be taken. The food arrived and was tasteless, dry and poorly presented. The counter staff, which there were 4 of milling around, seemed young and unable to work as a team. There was no glasses out or water. Not a good show for visitors to our great city of Bath and with M&S not experience the best of sucess at present , I would suggest this needs to be improved. read more
