I don't think this dealership is called Wilkinson anymore - the name on the sign is Mike Terry. I came in with my daughter last night, hoping to purchase her first vehicle. Unfortunately, I don't think we could have had a worse experience. The salesman knew we were coming and knew which vehicle we were interested in, but it appeared that nothing had been done to make the vehicle ready for us. It was dirty inside, which was annoying, but more importantly, the tire low pressure light was on. The salesman assured us had already driven the vehicle, but he didn't think to air up the tires? When asked, he said it was temperature fluctuation...really? In summertime? Give me a break. We had a trade-in - the tool on their website estimated $3,700 but the best we could get was $1,500. Fine, it's an old car, I understand, but it's clean with no accidents and we had the title. Felt weird to be lowballed by so much. The purchase price was obviously a scam and what they advertise online is just to get people to the dealership. We were told there would be $5,000+ of dealer fees for "reconditioning" and "MTAG" which was explained as a "clear coat that will last through all 4 seasons." This is the most stereotypical, sleazy, used car salesman line. In fact, in the movie Fargo, the car salesman is berated by a customer for a clear coat! There was no evidence of any reconditioning, and furthermore, this was a 2022. It was not some beater that had to get new paint or change a transmission. It's just markup. All that to say, they had a potential buyer ready to go. We had our financing already in hand. We were at the lot. We were offering a solid trade in. But the salesman couldn't close the deal and when it became obvious that we were going to leave, he tried to pressure us into staying. "You drove all this way, and you're really going to walk out the door?" he asked as we stood up. The answer was absolutely yes. We'll keep searching for an honest dealership that isn't trying to play games. read more

Wouldn't stop in here if you're in a hurry. Had an appt for 8 this morning. Brough my own break pads. Just a quick pad replacement on the front. Still here 3 hours later. Granted they did find 3 recalls on it. Curious to see if that's what held up the service or not. read more

We were driving to South Padre with our kids when suddenly something went dreadfully wrong with our Mercedes Sprinter van in Refugio, Tx. When we pulled over we saw this dealership and called in a desperate call for mechanical assistance. We knew they probably didn't service Mercedes vans but called anyways as we had our kids including baby twins in tow and had no options. Johnny, the mechanic, diagnosed the problem and fixed it on the spot. They also fixed our kids fresh popcorn and got cold water for everyone. This dealership knows hospitality and service! I'm only putting a star because the review won't upload without putting atleast one up here. A thumb down would fit better.... I was on the road working on a windmill farm as a crane operator helping build a powerline having a little glitch felt in my Chevy Tahoe which I drove from Arkansas. After a day or so of this minor issue I pulled into the only Chevy dealer in Refugio with a appointment to have it checked. Two hours later I received a call saying my transmission was bad an it could be replaced for $4500. I told them I would be to pick it up. After got my receipt that had no charge on it I was surprised an curious why since I did not have a warranty. I got my keys started my truck an put it in drive but nothing happened. So I turned it off restarted it an put in drive an then reverse. Still no movement. I idled the engine to about 3000 rpm an the trans gerked into a gear so hard it felt like the trans fell out. That was not the issues I was having prior to the checkup. So drive to AAMCO transmission in Corpus Christi an had it checked an my trans at that point was ruined after going to Wilkerson Chevy in Refugio. Cost me $4400 to have my trans rebuilt which works perfectly now an also warranted nation wide in all state locations . I don't know what the dealership did to my truck but they definitely thought I would let them work on it. I suppose they tried to bring in some revenue since there there only dealership there in a small town where most people go to other shops to save time an money from high labor an parts charge we all know a dealership will charge. Very bad experience there. Never even explained what kind of inspection they did to make my trans be forced into gear just to take off. My original issue was a small glitch that only happens when I'm almost at a complete stop. Most likely a sensor replacement an trans service was all I needed. read more

Never going to this dealership again. Ed Love was an excellent car salesman very knowledgeable and helpful. He would have sold a car if it wasn't for the finance manager that wanted to stick me with a 11.9 interest rate and my credit score is 676 um ya I left. Never again. read more
