Having been a foreclosure, we weren't surprised when we spotted leaks during storms. After over a year of contacting and soliciting roofers to take on our job, (the majority of which never even returned calls or submitted an estimate), we happened on MO SHINGLES. They had outstanding reviews but their website indicated they didn't service our area. Still, with a hilarious name like that, I couldnt resist contacting Old "Mo!" The owner, Andy, responded to our online inquiry within hours, and drove the distance to view our roof the very next day. He impressed us tremendously with his experience and frank understanding of the unique issues required to make our new roof both beautiful and one that would outlast us! My husband is a construction engineer, so he is picky, skeptical and not easy to satisfy! We were pleased with the quote we received from Mo Shingles. It wasn't a bargain-basement el-cheapo quote, but was extremely reasonable and more than fair considering but all the added special touches and premium quality material we received. We realized, with the materials that were quoted, that Andy thoroughly understood our goals and we were completely delighted. The crew was professional, clean and super courteous and friendly. (Amazingly-- none of the crew smoked on our property! We really appreciated having a group of non-smokers!) The job was enormous and took 5-6 guys daily for 5 days to complete. They cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day and took extra care to ensure the wind never blew any debris around. They have an onsite dump truck to haul trash off as needed. They discovered a number of issues with our old roof and fixed everything professionally as they went along. The finished roof is absolutely a work of art- so gorgeous, and compliments the architecture perfectly. They incorporated special touches to unify the design from one section to another, and took special care to make the roof extremely strong against the harsh winds and storms we see. They also added new roof vents where none had previously existed. MO SHINGLES is, without question, the most competent, skilled and customer-service oriented contractor we have found in East Tennessee. The owner is very bright, with years of experience in a variety of climate regions of the US. He is highly respected by his crew who describe him as "the most honest guy they know." WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND MO SHINGLES. We feel we received excellent service, a spectacular roof, and competent repairs of hidden damage-- all at a reasonable fair price. We believe the new roof added so much beauty to our home that it probably increased the value of our property. I got a call after the initial inspection by the technician, and in a couple of days, the job was done. Start to finish in 3 business days for a complete flashing replacement on a chimney. Laura was wonderful and wrote out the details as we needed to satisfy the buyer that the job was fully documented. He was at our house for over two hours researching and (I feel confident) resolving the issue. Through no fault if their own, they determined the short length of my gutter most likely is the issue. Atech…read moreaka Darrel and Tammy installed a smaller section of my roof changing from a rubber membrane to metal to tie to my existing metal roof. The metal was installed backwards causing the water to puddle and run in wrong directions and now I have extensive wood rot in only 2 years. Back to the gutter issues. Just learned the drip edge that is suppose to be inside the gutter was installed above the gutter by inches. That is why the water runs behind my gutters. I won't know the amount of wood they have caused to rot because of this until the new work is done. I paid for them to ruin my house. 3/2/26 update. I have contacted Tammy many times and she has read my message and hasn't responded one time. I just sent a picture that I included below that this is what my gutters are doing all over and they're leaking behind and they will not do anything about it. I paid them top dollar for these Gutters and they are absolute garbage. The gutter guards they put on are trash, they're crooked, they don't even lineup and they overhang, causing more leaks. I ran into Darell, the owners dad and employee and he said he would be right out to fix their bad work. Guess what, he never came. I suggest staying clear of this company. Original review: I hired Atech roofing & gutters 142 Hidden Valley Dr Dandridge 865-307-7141. I hired them based on their reviews and wanted to give the small company business. They did my gutters first and there was some major problems that they did come back but it's still not fixed. I have leaks in the corners where they forgot to caulk. The gutter guards overhang creating over flows. They also replaced a section of the metal roof and the metal is leaning the wrong way causing leaks. I also paid them to add ridge cap foam to my metal roof. I had no leaks but after their work the leaks started. I called them and they would never return my calls. I took pictures of the bad roof work. They either missed areas of foam or put the foam in the wrong places creating gaps. They were also supposed to change to new screws but put the old ones back in. I would never recommend them. I had to pay another roofer to fix the ridge cap foam so it cost me twice. They are also extremely difficult to reach after they are paid.

So now I have to hire another company to repair the damage they caused.
