I had a new that doctor who appeared slightly overwhelmed and unorganized. SUGGESTION BOX; Please ensure that exam tables have clean cover paper available for all exam beds. My exam bed was uncovered (gross) I hope that it was at least sanitized. Please do not leave a patient sitting in a dark exam room for over 25 mins. (forget about me?) Please suggest and provide a EKG test to your at risk (older) patients complaining of chronic chest pain. Please advise patients if currently taking antibiotics if this could effect your viruses testing. (If applicable) My doctor's bedside mannerism was pleasant and the staff were very polite and professional.

At checkout, I was informed the doctor is leaving the practice with no return date, meaning there is no provider available to review my upcoming test results. I attempted to raise my concerns with the on site supervisor, Ms. Rhoades, but was told they were unavailable. However, I was able to see her walking around the hallway through the window. I was also informed that other MedStar locations have no primary care to even review my results. The front desk staff were empathetic but appeared overwhelmed and unsupported. Given the provider's departure, this appointment should have been canceled in advance and follow up care coordinated. Instead, I'm left without continuity of care after a long wait. It was a very frustrating experience.

Hmm...I came in with medical issues that needed serious treatments. Dr. Avery would keep giving me…read moresample medications to see how they worked. Nothing he gave me worked to manage my blood pressure which was always through the roof. He is so rude as well. Everytime I've walking in there the staff was half way decent but I was always waiting for more than an hour past the time I was to be seen. He would always give me whatever medicine some company sent him to give out samples. He never tried to give me a legit prescription to treat my issues. He also bragged about be hated ao much by patient's. He is a piece of work. The last straw was when I waited 2 and a half hours. At this point I knew it would end bad because he would rush through and not answer my questions. Apparently he had a clause where you can only see him for one issue at a time. I came in, i told him my issue, and I asked him to just look at my foot because there was a dark spot on the bottom being diabetic i was concerned and didn't think it was a big deal. He then proceeded to tell me "i'm on of those people"...i looked at him and asked what he meant. I said, I need to make a new appointment just to have you tell me if this is dangerous or not!? I started grabbing my things because after almost 3 hours of waiting for him i was pretty pissed that he would go there. I said, is this how this is going down!? I said i didn't have time for this mess. He followed me through the halls yelling. SO THIS IS YOUR LAST TIME COMING!? ...SHOULD I PLAN ON NOT SEEING YOU AGAIN? mind you ther was a room full of patients, and this man was now yelling at me down the hall. I said...well with this service maybe this will be the first time. I walked out to the waiting area. He loudly told him nurses I won't be back and talked more trash as i left. He mumbled something about my fill needing to be ready to transfer to a new doctor. I haven't been back and i've considered pressing charges for neglect to properly treat me blood pressure. I ended up going to GW who have been great at making sure my Blood Pressure came down to safe numbers and constantly checking in on me.

He examined me and decided that I had some sort of problem with the nerve endings in my hip (never mind that this condition was extremely rare and was characterized by symptoms that I did not have). He didn't know enough about what he diagnosed me with to tell me about it without looking it up--and then instead of telling me what I should do, he made copies of a medical book for me to take with me. He also has misdiagnosed not one, but two of my co-workers, who have seen him. I have not heard a single positive review of him, and I'm honestly pretty concerned about his capability as a physician.

No, not you? Wow, sucks to be you, then. Yeah, yeah, there's nothing terribly Zen about getting your annual exam. But hey, if you're going to spend some time in an examination gown sitting on a random table getting the once-over in a doctor's office, you might as well be with someone who seems to give a damn about YOU as a patient. Don't you think? And after years of feeling a little too assembly-line with my healthcare, One Medical Group put me in the hands of Stephanie, a PA-C at the Farragut West location in DC. And she immediately put me at ease, listened to ALL THE THINGS within my medical history, and sent me fantastic, thorough follow-up emails to let me know what was going on with my insides. Stephanie was able to have a focused, informative discussion with me while keeping a warm, friendly tone. She is simultaneously engaging and professional. I feel like I'm in good hands, and highly recommend her to anyone. Just be prepared with your list of medications and procedures; like I said, she's thorough, and she will ask you A LOT of questions. She cares! She really does! :)

Her perspicacity is amazing: I can't praise her highly enough.

Care Quality Office Experience…read moreDr. Panahy had been my primary care physician for most of the 28 years I've been with Kaiser Permanente. I found her care to be excellent. She always spoke to me at length regarding my health and was always on top of whatever test, labs or Rx's I needed. Dr. Panahy was an excellent physician - caring, cooperative, informative and spent time with you despite the requisite 20 mins. that was usually mandated for appointments. I will miss her and when I think of excellent physician, I think of her. RIP. Andrea Sommer

I usually have to schedule my physicals a month or two in advance, and if I'm sick and need to get seen that day, I almost always have to settle for someone else in the practice. I usually don't have to wait long to be seen, and the practice seems to run fairly efficiently, aside from a recent frustration in getting a prescription refill. I find my annual checkups very helpful. Maybe it's just that I'm not trying to swaddle myself in a paper jacket and wrap - they usually give me a cloth gown. The office seems to schedule at least 30 minutes for annual checkups. Dr. Panahy is thorough, easy to talk to, and never seems rushed. She takes time to explain things, is well-informed, and is gentle during exams. She's been flexible with writing referrals, prescriptions for nonessential stuff like allergy meds and daily vitamins, and refilling prescriptions from specialists. The followup is fairly standard. If my labwork is normal, I get a letter in two weeks or so telling me the results. Dr. Panahy does call to discuss abnormalities. I haven't seen Dr. Panahy for any acute conditions, so I don't have a good feel for how she does with diagnosis. The other physicians in the office are okay.
