A Carnivores delight ! Maryanne's Meats in Lexington ohio clearly defines the phrase …read more..... "I'm in hog heaven ! " The facility is super clean , well lit and showcases a variety of meats in large chilled display cases . Each of the clerks are cordial , and knowledgeable about the various cuts of meat and how to best prepare and serve them . The variety of meats offered is phenomenal , and equal to what one might find in large metropolitan Communities . Personal favorites are the ready to bake HAM LOAF The ( WEIDLES formula ) smoked garlic sausage ( available in link , bulk or patty form and the pre-made ham salad . A section of Top counter space displays a selection of spices and bottled Condiments , while a side counter offers pre wrapped home baked MOON PIES ! Owner Maryanne is on the premises daily , and there is an extremely good chance that she will be the person who takes your order , A nice bonus is that Specialty meats that may not be stocked can be special ordered and delivered for pick up within a few days . While the prices may be a bit higher here than with other purveyors , the quality and cut of each of the variety of meats makes the slight monetary difference worth it . For customers choosing to purchase by credit card , be Forewarned that there will be a 2% up charge added to the purchase total , which incidentally , other meat shops do not do . Because of the variety , selection , quality and cut of meats available , my review : a healthy 5 out of 5 Stars , and a suggestion : dump the 2% upcharge on credit card purchases , others businesses don't Levy it and in fact it may discourage customers from returning ! ( we normally spend about 50 bucks each time we go ! )

We have been traveling north to Lexington, Ohio from Columbus to this local butcher for about a…read moreyear. Its free standing white buidling set up on a sloped parking lot. Super cute, clean, has a nice case that offers a large variety of cuts. We like that the meat is locally sourced. We like how friendly the staff is. Usually the meat we get is excellent. However, the last trip wasn't perfect. we came up on June 2nd, purchased two large racks of beef ribs, 9 pounds of pork butt, 6 bacon burgers. and some beyond spicy jerky. Total cost 191.14. Kind of felt that was a bit high tbo but this was my husbands order so i just stood there observing. Now I expect some fat on ribs. When the man that handled our order he said "i took off some (meat) off the top before you came. Here they are". I thought.. "thats weird. Why would u trim off meat." But again said nothing. We will get to that in a bit.... We get home. Cooked the six bacon burgers which were crazy good. They grind bacon into the beef and form a patty for you. They were very nice. Would drive up get again. My son next cracks open the jerky. Spicy is an understatement. Its super duper crazy spicy. Now, I like spicy, so does half my family. Fair warning this may of been the spiciest Ive ever had. It was right at the edge of ohhhh this might be too spicy, but didn't quite cross that line. Make sure you like spicy. It was good. I think they make it themselves. Thats a plus in our eyes. But half the family wouldn't eat it -it was that spicy. Lol. (Whimps) The next night we have our BBQ. The pork was good. Nice marbling. Smoked up nicely but for this cut alone it wasn't really worth the miles and time up there as the price of it was a bit high. Now to the ribs.... This was the item that we were driving an hour to get. All the rest were add ons. These were to be the main feature of our BBQ. Total disappointment. Not sure what was trimmed off before we got there, but it must of been most of the meat... As what we went home with was almost mostly fat and bone The ribs also were what cost the most and wow... I am shocked that they sold us those and even more shocked my husband (who is a great BBQ guy) weirdly accepted them. My point with this review is, as a customer--check your slabs of ribs. If they are fatty... and your gut say too fatty-- speak up! as this shop usually sends you home with perfect meat. Im sure there are more in the back and if Im sure they are great at suggesting a plan B. This time they missed the mark with us, but again, I have faith that if we ever go back it should be a better experience, as the other two experiences were amazing. I want to emphasize-- This isnt a place that should be skipped cuz of the rib issue. There is always a line in the shop.its a good place. However, I would recommend as a customer--check the cuts that are presented without worrying about offending the clerk if you feel the meat needs to be swapped out - if you feel its fatty or not a great cut for price, advocate for your own purchase. I feel the rib disappointment was as much our fault for not advocating as theirs for presenting that flawed slab. Sometimes you just make a mistake. We both did that day. I know we will be back for the burgers. Those were crazy good. I dont even like hamburger and I really liked the flavor of them.

The restaurant is well appointed but not over the top. Just the right amount of chic. Originally seated in a booth, we ask to move to an open table as the seating in the booths are way too low. After changing places, Nick arrived to ask us if we would like to start some beverages. We had noticed that H&E advertising a locals special starting on Sundays with 50% off beer, wine, cocktails, Raw, First, and Second courses! What a great deal! We opened with cocktails and wine. Alec did a great job on our cocktails, definitely delicious! We also decided on Baked Brie to open. The Brie arrived fairly quickly, though not with enough toast pieces, it was very yummy. For our main courses I ordered their Caesar Salad adding blackened salmon, my wife their Sunday Supper Hot Brown special, mom their house salad adding blackened salmon, while our friend decided on the Steak Frites. I also ordered a half dozen oysters. My oysters and my wife's accompanying salad arrived promptly. Unfortunately, there was no oyster fork but a was asked if I wanted horseradish! The oysters and horseradish were terrific. Our main courses arrived perfectly presented and absolutely delicious! No complaints whatsoever! We had a lovely evening! This seating we were not asked to keep any utensils! Again, easily the best restaurant in the Mansfield area, almost on par with The Capital Grille. Just a tweak or two away.

Whenever traveling I always use YELP, and it was right on the mark here too. Having grown up in Youngstown, OH, and having lived near New Haven, CT, I have eaten a lot of wonderful Italian Food. We didn't want to wait for a table to open up in the regular restaurant so we decided to eat at the GASTRONOMIA Italian Deli (same kitchen as the back restaurant). My wife is handicapped and some very kind ladies moved to a "high" table so we could sit at a lower table. We ordered from a young lady with the most amazing blue eyes and she brought our food when it was ready. My wife had the Muffuletta Sub and I had the Mighty Meatball Sub. My wife could only eat 1/4 of her sandwich and I could only eat 1/2 of mine. If you have ever lived in one of the two places I mentioned, you know good Italian . This was WONDERFUL Italian. I can't wait to go back there!
