There is also a lot of conservation work that goes on in this zoo. The monies generated by the zoo fund these projects. That said, I got to see a lot of fascinating animals that are native to Australia. Of course, the koalas are so darn cute. They don't really do anything other than sit in their little branch, feed on the eucalyptus occasionally, and poop (they apparently do that even while they sleep). Kangaroos and other marsupials were also at the top of my list to see. Nature is just amazing. I won't go through all the critters, but the variety was impressive. Be sure to visit the Africa exhibit and the bird feeding shows. I'll share some logistics. It's a big place, so expect to walk a lot. Bring a hat and sunscreen. Bring water. You can even bring your own food, but they have multiple eateries throughout. If you are staying in downtown Brisbane, there's a cheap bus that goes directly there. It was the most straightforward and cheapest option. The bus was clean and the ride was enjoyable.

Underwater World does have 3 levels to the place it is very easy to either A) walk around in circles or B) miss things. I would advise taking a map when they hand one to you, so you make sure that you don't miss anything. They do do daily shows for some of the animal's witch can be very informative. This is another children friendly place. There is cafe within Underwater World for you to buy food or there is other small cafes outside around the wharf.

They immediately sent an email with your ticket as well as when to arrive, where to meet, recommended attire, and what to expect. The tour includes a morning snack in the koala cafe and lunch. Upon arrival, I spotted our guide and was provided a form to fill out with food selections. I was very impressed with options as well as the helpings. The food was quite delicious and filling. I don't know if I will ever be back in Brisbane in my lifetime but this was well worth the price. I'm glad I took the plunge and went for it! Far exceeded my expectations!

I bought a groupon and came here with my family. I was a little disappointed about the distance the…read morepark was from the train station. I called and asked if it was walk able and they said it was a very easy walk. It was actually quite far. We ended up taking the taxi which cost 12 dollars. (about 25 round trip). Pros: 1. You can pet and feed a lot of different animals at this zoo. 2. A lot of variety 3. Workers are nice and their animal presentation is very good. Cons: 1. Expensive. Not worth the normal entry fee of around 27 dollars per person. 2. Costs 20 dollars to hold a koala for 30 seconds just enough for a picture (not worth it) 3. Park is pretty small compared to other zoos i've been to for a cheaper admission price. 4. They make it seem like the park is really close to the train station but it isn't. You have to take a taxi unless you want to walk 2.5km on a hilly road with no sidewalks. Overall, I had fun and the experience of holding a koala was nice. I also loved feeding the kangaroos. Without the groupon, I don't think the experience would be worth it. 20 dollars to take a picture with a Koala is quite expensive. I understand that they are privately funded and rely heavily on admissions however so the prices are understandable.
