I'm so glad we had this tip - it really is a stunning area. Carry on through Noosaville and drive right to the very last car park on Noosa Head - from here you'll have an amazing view of the sandy beaches, the river and the ocean. You'll see little fishing boats out on the water, and probably a few people fishing from the shore. We were also lucky enough to see a Fish Eagle dive down and grab his lunch from the water, just as we were eating ours. You'll also see people on paddle boards meandering up the river. If you can make time for Noosa in your itinerary I really recommend it - it's a stunning spot and a great place to eat a picnic lunch or grab a coffee.

We have rented kayaks and stand up paddle boards plenty of times from Golden Beach Hire and they have been great. It makes the opportunity to do water sports so accessible! Every time I head to Caloundra, I always visit this beach. There is a great walkway to for for a morning or afternoon stroll. The sunrises and sunsets here are magnificent. There is plenty of parking and I have never had any issues. The place is never crowded and everyone is friendly that you pass by. If you want to have a BBQ and be right next to the water, Golden Beach has that for you!

There is an inlet from the river that is great for kids to play in , because it's shallow but the main attraction is for sure the beach. Beware it's kind of a dog beach , there are a LOT of people walking their dogs, big and small. Throwing balls, ect. So sometimes you have to calculate with a " stray" pile of dog poo, I m actually pretty sure that people do not let them just lay around I watched all the dog owners carry plastic bags but I guess it just happens. More then that it's great here! The dogs go nuts on the beach and I didn't see one fight. The beach is long and you can walk here from Coolum and walk all the way to Sunshine Beach . Nice place! Oh but take insect repellent if you stay for the sunset!
