My kids absolutely LOVE the staff and programming here at Wildfire. We originally had them attending the Tustin location through the City of Tustin parks and rec on Tuesdays afternoons. When we heard that the Lake Forest location was offering a Spring Day Camp, the kids were so excited to hear they could spend all day with their favorite gymnastics coaches, some familiar faces from Tustin too! My sons cartwheel and tumbling skills have improved so much, and he can roll head over very easily now! I'm so proud of him and he's so proud of the skills and confidence her learned here with the Flippin Flames. The staff is so caring and compassionate as well! My daughter Jazzy, really wanted to attend with her brother and is just getting over the potty training hump. I received a call one afternoon that she had an accident and they were so sweet to my little girl, and kept her mind off her little oopsie until daddy arrived and was able to tend to her. They could've asked her to stay home during the remaining duration of camp, but instead they paid extra attention to her and ensured that she was comfortable and dry through the rest of the camp. As an athlete and father, I can recommend Wildfire Gymnastics to you and your family as a warm and caring facility to learn gymnastics from some of the most prized and awarded coaches in Southern California. Wildfire Gymnastics - Our kids love Wildfire! - Gymnastics Near Me - Lake Forest, California

I assume this gym is better staffed during normal use. However, I thought it was way understaffed and lacked adequate supervision for a bday party. Parents were not pros at identifying the various items out on the floor and it was a minefield to navigate it all so you could easily turn an ankle on equipment. I watched a couple little girls stumble and start crying because of this. The bday had a game that 2 staff members ran but otherwise they were largely absent on the gym floor. There was no instruction, no structure otherwise. Kids wandered between the bounce house to every piece of equipment with total access. As a parent I kept close to my child to help him but I liked other party venues a lot better because they had staff to get involved and show safe ways to use equipment they had put on the floor. On a hot day over 80 degrees there was no a/c except up in the upstairs party room. I was very hot and uncomfortable as were the kids. Thankfully I brought my son's water to keep him hydrated. Everyone was sweaty and gross. Add to that the venue did not require socks, it seemed a ripe environment for athletes foot or other germs to flourish as I did not notice the equipment or mats looked particularly clean. Nobody was cleaning after use either like at other venues. Overall, nice idea but I think staff needs to think about execution of a bday party better. There is a wide variety of equipment but no instruction, little space between the equipment, and random jump boards everywhere that I don't think 5 yr olds were equipped to navigate well. read more

This review is only for absence of progress updates and structured assessments. My daughter was eager to learn gymnastics, so my wife signed her up for the weekly class at Wildfire Gymnastics in Lake Forest. Initially, it was great with a lot of kids and a well-equipped facility. However, after five months, we decided to drop the class due to a lack of progress updates and inconsistent coaching. Each time the coach changed, my daughter had to start over, which led to boredom from repetitive tasks every week. Taekwondo classes have belt testing days to assess levels. Ice skating classes have 10-week programs to assess skills. My kids can prepare what they have learned. Surprisingly, Wildfire Gymnastics lacked a structured approach. When I asked the reception desk about moving our daughter from Level 1 to Level 2, they mentioned it depends on the coach, revealing a lack of standard assessment and testing days. Additionally, it seems there may be a shortage of coaches, which could be causing intentional delays in moving members to different levels. Advice to Management: Wildfire Gymnastics should consider implementing X-week programs for different levels, with clear training goals and designated testing days, instead of letting parents waste money on something unexpected. The front office staff and most coaches really care. They are kind and great with kids. Unfortunately, bringing my kids to Wildfire has been increasingly difficult. A few things: - Coach turnover : my daughter has had 7 coaches in 2 years. There is no continuity of training. Sometimes they have fill in coaches because they cannot staff a dedicated coach. My other daughter has had the same coach for years, and she is wonderful, but unfortunately that is rare. - Overcrowding: My kids attend Monday evenings. Most days it is so crowded that I have to drop them off and park .5 miles away in an office parking lot. There are often little children dropped off and walking through the cars unattended. It is really unsafe, and many people cannot find parking for the duration of class. If you want to watch your child, that's not going to happen. - Waitlists: Each time my daughters advanced to the next level, they sat on a wait list for 6 months or more before moving to the next level class. 6 months of paying tuition and not having my child advance their skills is very frustrating. Overall, I really want to love this gym. But it's overcrowded, hard to get classes and even harder to keep good coaches. We'll have to go elsewhere. read more

I did a trial class for Boys Tumbling on Monday at 6:30pm. The class started with 40 students doing warm up exercises. Then the group split up into smaller groups. The coach was not engaging nor interactive. I observed her to be mostly chatting with her coworkers and it sounded like non work related conversations because one topic was about the music that was played. I felt like my son was treated like a number. The coach barely glanced my son's way throughout the session; except for the few times she said "Do 30 sit ups" or some other instruction. I left early because it was that bad. Also, parking is terrible here. The front desk reception told me to "hold on" when I said politely said "excuse me". I waited until another woman from behind the the front desk came out to assist. The second woman was super friendly but it's unfortunate that my impression of the rest of the staff was lacking. read more

This place is not for you especially if your young child is not naturally inclined to gymnastics. They will not learn a thing. Lastly, do not get me started abt the parking situation. By the time you figure all this out on your own you'll be so far in, your kid will only know being a gymnast. Most of the kids she knows and the families you have travelled, carpooled and raised your kids with will be at WF. It makes leaving harder so you will compromise more because of the investment. I've heard the stories over and over again. In my opinion, the reason WF wins is the equipment, sheer number of kids and repeaters. If you have 40 kids in a level it's easy to find 5 high scores for a team score. Most gyms don't load older kids to boost their team scores or repeat a kid that's scored 37s. This gym is excellent at the show. How many of their optionals are home grown? Who developed the best scoring optionals? They built foundations elsewhere. WF is left with only limited expert knowledge after so much coaching turn over. I do not believe money buys the skills and temperament needed to shape the lives of children. Come here developed somewhere else, esp. bars. Super weak event for this gym along with floor. Look at the scores, they tell the tale. I strongly urge any competitive team member to meet The owner from the very very beginning. Be direct that you will ALWAYS be your athlete's advocate and part of the three legged stool of parent, athlete, coach TRUST YOUR GUT! In my opinion, Aside from a few coaches who were kind people who genuinely love children and gymnastics, the culture at wildfire is like the bad parts we are hearing publically regarding the sport , a grooming culture where parents are thought of and treated like the enemy. Shiny stuff doesn't equal good gymnastics and the egos in this place are too big to understand how to really build a gymnast. I have personally never seen so much tape and injuries in a non elite gym and so little shaping or spotting. This all became unavoidable for me to look deeply at when I asked a coach question to help my 7 year old understand how a skill felt in her body. The owner talked to me in front of my children in a way I have never been treated in my adult life. It was explosive and uncontrolled and we had never even met officially!!! In a sport that requires children have so much control it felt very dangerous to me to see a grown adult so unable to control himself and treat me, a woman, in an intimidating manner with raised voice and accusations over a very simple question a 7 year old had about how a skill felt in her own body!!! I realized I'd been leaving my kids on the floor multiple nights a week with someone I wouldn't leave them alone with for 3 minutes. I finally did all the research I should have before I brought them here. I should have known better, now you can't say you don't. read more

I wanted so bad to love this place but it's super unorganized and chaotic. The classes for 3-5 year olds are so mundane and boring, literally the only thing they do each week is a floor balance beam, a few tumbling exercises and then a trip down a kiddie slide. My child got more from going to the park each week and hanging on the rings. The coaches (the ones we had) were super young, high school level girls who would just bunch up together to chat while the 4 year olds did the same course over and over. No skill teaching, not helping the girls advance in anyway and definitely not challenging. The last 15 minutes of the class was just jumping into a foam pit.... we didn't sign up for gymnastics to do this for a quarter of the class time. There were WAY too many kids inside the gym too. Not save in anyway regarding covid. We tried it for 6mo and then switched to a new place. read more

My daughter has been diagnosed with a developmental delay, and one of her occupational therapists recommended to take her to a gymnastics class, which was going to help her with her sensory processing. So, we started taking her to Wildfire Gymnastics because of their great ratings and wonderful reviews right after she turned 2. She started with a Parent-and-me class and we did see some improvement with her skills, although she is still struggling a lot, especially when following instructions (due to her developmental delay). After she turned 3, she was transferred to the next level where parents are not allowed. It was really hard for her because mom wasn't there to keep her focused on the exercises. Her new coach is very young and didn't seem to have a lot of experience with kids that have trouble paying attention, so we spoke with management. They agreed that the coach was too young and agreed to transfer my daughter with a more experienced coach, although on the Tustin location. Her name is Jen. Today was the first day we took my daughter with Jen with high hopes that she would know how to handle the situation. HUGE failure. Jen got desperate and yelled at my daughter all the class, telling her phrases like "if you don't do what I tell you, you'll have to go back to your mom" in a very rude manner. When the class was over, she talked to my wife and told her that the class wouldn't advance because of my daughter! This was the main reason why we took her to this class with Jen in the first place! Because Jen would know what to do! If they know they can't handle it, why wouldn't they say so in the beginning? I don't know about other parents, but I bet they would agree that the most important thing we want for our kids is to help build a healthy self esteem. My daughter was crying for a really long time afterwards, and she expressed she felt really sad. She is 3!! Later on, my wife called to officially file a complaint and cancel the membership immediately. They apologized for this behavior and expressed this does not represent the values of the gym, and promised to escalate this to upper management, promising we'd receive a call. Still waiting for it. Bottom line is - we expected help for our daughter because of her special need, we were promised a professional environment with experienced coaches on this subject, and we ended up receiving a very rude, unprofessional and totally inappropriate treatment for my daughter. I would tell Wildfire Gymnastics that protecting kids self-esteem is way more important than making medals. You better do something about it, cause no kid deserves to be treated this way. read more

WoW! Did I just walk into a gym where future Olympics Gymnastics are trained? I think so!!! This place is HUGE! It is like 2 Cost Co Building filled with so many activities for your future gymnast! My first time to come here because of a bday party! My jaw just dropped because of all the balance beams and floor space that you can train on. This place is serious when it comes to training! Very competitive too! The trophies. The state nationals that they have won! Okay, back to the party... This place would be appropriate for school aged kids. They have organized games for the kids at the party and they also give them free play to just explore and do whatever they want. Kids are barefoot as they play. So bring your flip flops or crocs so it's easy on and easy off. There is a parent viewing area so you can watch your kid play. Staff will take care of the organized play. And just go mingle with your adult friends. Amazing party! I am now interested in their camp and open session. The place is amazing! read more

We had such high expectations for Wildfire. I was NOT impressed by the the coaches. The coaches are mainly high school kids with zero knowledge of how to coach children. We went through several coaches since none had the personality or training to teach my child to do things correctly. And let me tell you, the RBF is no joke here. Zero personality, zero smiles. My child loves the art of gymnastics but disliked the coaches here that we had to leave. Secondly, the parent viewing area is horrible. I felt like I was going to catch something just sitting there. It was stuffy, and gross. The cubby area smelled like stinky socks and shoes which the smell elevated up to the viewing area. Would be nice if they would put some air purifiers in the viewing area to help circulate the air or something. Seriously, extremely disappointed! I'd rather drive a bit farther for a better gym with better staff that will actually care about my child and teach the correct form and movements. read more

My son has been coming to wildfire for about 6 months now. He loves the coaches and all the coaches, even the ones that he doesn't train him, are so enthusiastic with him about his training and keeps him excited about gymnastics as well. My daughter has gone to Wildfire gymnastics since September of 2021 and I was really impressed at first. You walk in and see all of the trophies and the actual facility and it's really impressive. The problem is they are so over capacity that the classes are big so your child really doesn't get that one on one training or even one on five training a parent would hope for. They also have this policy that if your child gets sick or it's a holiday they allow you to make up the class. However, they will NEVER get a chance to make up the class because they are constantly at full capacity. If I didn't already pay the deposit/enrollment fees I would consider placing her into a different facility. Until then, I guess I suck it up at pay the $110/month for one class a week and hope that she doesn't miss a class. Sorry Wildfire Gymnastics, I had bigger hopes for you. read more

Absolutely terrible! We went for a camp and they refused to let my children out of the snack room to come ask me a question. They also grabbed my child's arm and tried to force them to sit down. They yelled at both of my children and made them cry. We ended up with a full refund but this is terrible behavior and customer service for a place that is supposed to be for children. We will definitely never be back, and will be letting our neighbors know to try a more friendly place that actually cares for kids. read more

My kids love it here, I have no complaints except for a few things. IT SMELLS HORRIBLE in here. I mean horrible. The smell punches you in the gut right when you turn the corner from the front door. Is there no ventilation? This place needs fresh air. You walk in and it's like a huge shoe closet. I understand it's a gym but my gosh...please air out this place and wipe down the equipment. Stinky feet and dirty shoes are all over this stuff. I know you can't wipe down some of the stuff, but there are a lot that you can. My other complaint, Coaches, wear their shoes all over the mats. This is just downright disgusting. Our kids lay on the floor, they tumble and touch the same floor with their hands that the filthy shoes step on. I am an Xcel coach from out of town, and I was in the area for my team kids' competition this weekend. Due to travel, the girls have gone about a week without any practice and were feeling like they needed a "touch up" before they compete. I reached out and contacted a few local gyms however Wildfire Gymnastics was the only one that got back to me. Wildfire Gymnastics was generous enough to allow my coworker and I to do private lessons during their rec time this morning! Everyone was so kind and hospitable. The staff introduced themselves, showed us around, and offered their assistance where necessary. This gym is organized, clean, and amazing. The equipment was fabulous. I am hoping we will be back! This place is so awesome! The staff is super friendly, my kids look forward to seeing their coaches every time. The activities and skill work is great for all ages. Gymnastics is one of the best ways for kids to work on both coordination and strength at an early age and this place nails it along with making it a fun place with lots of camaraderie and focus. This place is AMAZING! Most importantly, my 12 year old daughter looks forward to coming here every week. She first came to Wildfire at the age of 7, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a good size gym, filled with obstacles and all the equipments needed for a student's success. There are seatings upstairs, where you have a good view of all the coach working with the kids. The office staffs are friendly and helpful, taking the time to answer any questions. I do have a request...Air Freshener. Management was quick to respond and follow up, addressing my concerns. They listen, are very understanding, and sincerely care about my thoughts, objectives and the overall well-being of my daughter. Due to a coach's injury, my daughter got to experience several other coaches. At first, I wasn't thrilled about having different coaches substitute. I watched intently, each time... taking mental notes to compare with how my daughter feels about each coach. They all had their own coaching styles. My daughter and I agreed that they were all AWESOME. Which is surprising, since I hold coaches to high standards. My daughter also got to work with a few other coaches, when using her 6 bonus classes per year. To be honest, there were a couple couches, out of about a dozen, that didn't meet our expectations...but, they may be a good fit for your child. The current coach is strict...pushing the kids to work hard. I can see how focused she is to help her students achieve their goals quickly. We love her!!! It's bittersweet that I just got notice...my daughter is ready to move up to the next level, which means, she may have another coach :(. Overall, Wildfire earns an "A" from us! read more

Nice staff but coaches don't really teach or correct, they act more like babysitters when it comes to 4-5 year olds. Expensive babysitters if I might add. It's a little disappointing. I've discussed this with other parents as well. Wish the coach would take their jobs more seriously. read more

This place doesn't do very good with covid 19. no one really wears masks only the coaches, kids aren't 6 feet apart. they do check temperature, but sometimes no. there has to be at least 100 people all in the gym at one time and not much people are separated and some coaches don't sanitize the part that people were on. also, a coach named Paris was touching ( may not be on purpose)and making jokes about body parts. this place is ok, but teaches little in a long time. read more

Ive had my son enrolled here for about a month now, and I am honestly so impressed with this gym. His coach, Coach Brett is absolutely incredible with him. He works 1 on 1 with him and is so patient as my son is a beginner. Every single time his class ends he begs to be able to stay longer because he is having such a great time. Most of the coaches at wildfire are super nice. My daughters love to go their regular classes. We signed one make up class on Monday. The instructor's name is Mike Keeneey . Once the girls finished class. They both cried on me and said the teacher is mean and scared. Some poses they don't know how to do it. He did not even teach them and said "just do it!". I asked him what happened to my two crying kids . He looks careless and said " I don't know!" Never go his class. His behavior will affect your kids confidence level. If he dislike kids. He should work at someplace else not deal with the kids. read more

If you are looking for a gym for your child, either as a competitor or just for fun, Wildfire is the place to go. My daughter has been a competitive gymnast with Wildfire for almost 9 years so my review will speak mainly to the competitive side of things, but she would never consider going anywhere else other than Wildfire. Wildfire is a recognized Junior Olympic National Team Training Center.The coaching staff is excellent (with many years of experience) and the owners are amazing. The Lake Forest site is brand new, huge and filled with all new state of the art equipment. This is a very professional gym with an incredibly successful record. But equally important is the caring, family atmosphere. The owners and their family are all involved with the girls' training and development and it's that family atmosphere that sets this gym apart (their winning track record speaks for itself!). My daughter has close friends at school, but her gym friends are like sisters to her. Wildfire really encourages a positive, caring and supportive team atmosphere. They also have lots of team bonding opportunities like the summer campout, big/little buddies, holiday and summer parties, Secret Santas and the travel meets are fun for everyone. I've watched my daughter transform over the years from a very shy girl to a happy, mature, confident young woman and I attribute a lot of that to her experience at Wildfire. Equally impressive is the fact that when you walk into the gym you see all the banners hanging from the ceiling from the colleges that have provided scholarships to Wildfire graduates. The coaches are really fantastic and have done a great job training and providing the skills so that their gymnasts are fully prepared to compete safely and successfully. And in many cases they train so successfully that Wildfire gymnasts often catch the eye of college recruiters. Gymnastics is a sport where little mistakes can have big consequences so it was important to me that my daughter go to a gym that really knew what they were doing and how to train gymnasts properly and safely. The fact that Wildfire combined both knowledge and safety with a positive, successful, family environment made it the only choice for me! read more
