This review is only for absence of progress updates and structured assessments. My daughter was eager to learn gymnastics, so my wife signed her up for the weekly class at Wildfire Gymnastics in Lake Forest. Initially, it was great with a lot of kids and a well-equipped facility. However, after five months, we decided to drop the class due to a lack of progress updates and inconsistent coaching. Each time the coach changed, my daughter had to start over, which led to boredom from repetitive tasks every week. Taekwondo classes have belt testing days to assess levels. Ice skating classes have 10-week programs to assess skills. My kids can prepare what they have learned. Surprisingly, Wildfire Gymnastics lacked a structured approach. When I asked the reception desk about moving our daughter from Level 1 to Level 2, they mentioned it depends on the coach, revealing a lack of standard assessment and testing days. Additionally, it seems there may be a shortage of coaches, which could be causing intentional delays in moving members to different levels. Advice to Management: Wildfire Gymnastics should consider implementing X-week programs for different levels, with clear training goals and designated testing days, instead of letting parents waste money on something unexpected. It can better serve their students and parents.

Greed at its finest... I was recommended this gym and understand where it might have been years ago but they do t have the staff to keep up. My daughter has been there without any communication as if she will matriculate. Coaches literally come and go. Now they overbook and you can't even find a parking spot, parents giving zero f*cks about watching their kids yet no place for the ones that care to watch ...

WoW! Did I just walk into a gym where future Olympics Gymnastics are trained? I think so!!! This place is HUGE! It is like 2 Cost Co Building filled with so many activities for your future gymnast! My first time to come here because of a bday party! My jaw just dropped because of all the balance beams and floor space that you can train on. This place is serious when it comes to training! Very competitive too! The trophies. The state nationals that they have won! Okay, back to the party... This place would be appropriate for school aged kids. They have organized games for the kids at the party and they also give them free play to just explore and do whatever they want. Kids are barefoot as they play. So bring your flip flops or crocs so it's easy on and easy off. There is a parent viewing area so you can watch your kid play. Staff will take care of the organized play. And just go mingle with your adult friends. Amazing party! I am now interested in their camp and open session. The place is amazing!

After summer, I was placed in a different group with a new, inexperienced coach and significantly younger athletes. Despite the challenges, I stayed committed and continued working hard. I actually never missed a single practice in the 4 and a half months I was there. There were ongoing issues within the group (specifically one girl) that made the environment uncomfortable, and although they were brought to the coaches' attention multiple times, nothing was effectively addressed. A month before our first competition--after we had already begun learning routines--I received an email stating that I was no longer welcome at the gym. I was given no clear explanation, no prior warning, and no opportunity to discuss or resolve anything. Being removed from a team this way, especially right before competition season, was extremely upsetting and unprofessional. I would strongly encourage better communication and fairness when handling athletes in the future.

Can tell she pushes them to far and looks nice but hardly be nice. She taught my little cousin and had no control of the situation she was in. Can be also harsh teaching to. Is way to specific and it always had to be perfect for her to teach these skills to my cousins. I would have felt better with some of the other coaches but to be honest I don't feel this place is good for us. We are considering places like era or vibe gymnastics. The environment here seems like they are putting a show rather than actual teaching methods and passing down the experience. Just seems like coach Madelyn was a prime example of that. Wouldn't recommend her or this place either

Communication from staff is inconsistent, policies are unclear, and parents are given conflicting information depending on who they speak with. After being told one thing in person by staff, I later spoke with Liz, who provided completely different information with no acknowledgment of the earlier guidance. As a result, a reasonable request regarding already-paid classes was denied due to staff miscommunication. When I was at the gym in person, I specifically asked to speak with the manager, Taylor, but she refused to come out and instead said she would call me. That call never happened. The lack of accountability and follow-through only added to the frustration. We have been members for over two years and currently have another child enrolled, yet there was no flexibility or effort to resolve the situation fairly. For a business that serves families and children, this level of customer service is unacceptable. I would not recommend this gym based on how poorly concerns are handled.

When I shared that I hoped to compete at a high level and possibly even the Olympics, I was told, "sorry to burst your bubble, but you'll never make it to the Olympics."
