Our concerns were heard, and our accommodations were altered. We couldn't be more pleased with the response by all staff, including mgmt. It's well run as a business, which I honestly don't expect to find anymore. Sometimes you get the right key people into the right mgmt job and it works... and it shows at PK N PK. This place will be our yearly NYE tradition. Aside from the response, their restaurants and bars stay open until a later time than other ski resorts within 3 hours of PGH. This was much appreciated. Staff all around were tremendous. This is even more tremendous considering the holiday and huge 2' snowfall. Past visits went very well. We have gone day skiing when in Erie, and have rented condos in the past. Each stay was great. The most recent stay warranted a tremendous review.

Peek'n Peak Resort -- Clymer, NY "The Shot of the Day…read more.. and Every Season After" For years now, Peek'n Peak has been our home away from home--literally. We've got a ski-in/ski-out condo perched right on the top of the mountain, and after spending countless seasons carving down the runs, warming up by the fireplace, and celebrating New Year's with friends and family here... it's time to set the record straight. THE RESORT Is it older? Sure. But that's part of the charm. This isn't some polished chain-brand ski lodge--it's rustic, real, and still holding strong. The main lodge has all the essentials, with a side of character. Their main restaurant even features furniture repurposed from an old mansion--how's that for cozy-meets-quirky? THE LODGE EXPERIENCE We've stayed at the lodge itself multiple times before we bought the condo, and it's always been perfectly fine. Not flashy, not fussy--just warm beds, friendly vibes, and a hot tub that transitions from indoors to outdoors (bonus points for that!). There's a pool and sauna as well, and in warmer months, the indoor slide is in play. THE MOUNTAIN This is a small-to-mid-size resort that absolutely holds its own: * 26 trails (45% intermediate, 30% beginner, 15% advanced, 10% expert) * 7 triple chairs, 2 surface lifts * 2 terrain parks, often featuring a half pipe and yes--an actual bus you can ride across. * A two-mile-long trail that delivers a scenic cruise down the slope. * Wooded trails for the daredevils and dreamers. * A tubing hill + dedicated beginner's area that's perfect for new skiers and families. THE FOOD & APRÈS You'll want to grab a slice and a smile at the pizza joint at the base of the hill--perfect for thawing out after your last run. There are other dining options around, and the vibe is always relaxed and welcoming. It's the kind of place where people hold the door open and toast their cocoa at the fire pit. OFF-SEASON ADVENTURES Peek'n Peak isn't just a winter wonderland. In the warmer months, the Adventure Park and ropes course take center stage--with zip lines that send you flying down the ski hill. There's also a fun mini golf course where a legendary family phrase was born: "It's the shot of the day!" (Yes, we still say it every summer.) THE GOLF Up top, you'll find one of the most underrated championship-level golf courses in the Northeast. The views alone are worth the trip, but the course layout is also smart, challenging, and just plain fun. There used to be a lower-mountain course, but that's closed now. THE REAL SECRET The townhomes. They dot the top of the mountain like something out of a Hallmark movie. Ours is perched just steps away from the lift. Ski in, ski out, party in, pass out. It's magic. We've celebrated many New Year's Eves here, and waking up to fresh snow and a slope-ready crew never gets old. PRO TIP The resort recently underwent a management change after some tough financial times. But don't let that scare you. The place has soul. It's not corporate, it's not overrun, and it's not trying to be something it's not. It's authentic, and that's what keeps us--and so many others--coming back year after year. If you're looking for Vail glam or Deer Valley luxury, keep driving. But if you want a resort with history, heart, and plenty of places to shred, sled, and sip cider, Peek'n Peak is exactly where you want to be. See you on the slopes. And if you hear someone shout "Shot of the day!" on the mini golf course--yep, that's us.

Although the property is located in Findley New York, it is only about 15 minutes from the Pennsylvania state line. The owner, Suzanne Gromofsky was great to work with as we planned our trip and was always available for questions. The house was well stocked on our arrival and even included bug spray, sun screen and glow sticks for the kids plus some extra treats. The children enjoyed catching fireflies, searching out frogs at the pond in the evening and playing with the Barbies found in a closet, match cars, board games and stacking blocks. My grandson was even lucky enough to catch his first fish, than he proceeded to catch 8 more. (in the space of about a half hour). The water is located across the local road and comes with a great picnic table plus a nice dock. The property includes a barbecue off the back deck, fish cleaning station and ample parking for several cars. Inside, the bedrooms are very large (most of them have sitting rooms attached) with one bedroom containing bunk beds that accommodate 6 sleepy kiddos plus two bathrooms. There is a large dining room and also seating in the comfy kitchen. The Lodge includes two fireplaces for winter vacationers and is close to a major ski resort for snow activities. Do yourself a favor and next time your travels take you New York or Pennsylvania, make the Mayflower Lodge a must on the list! The town of Findley has some great tourist attractions, including a candle company, several antique stores and a great ice cream store! We definitely would love to return to the Mayflower Lodge on future visits!

Perfect spot for a mini-getaway with the family (young kids)…read more Decent price! Definitely affordable especially compared with other hotels. Comfortable rooms and a shower with decent water pressure (not always easy to come by). Loved that they have Dove products - handwash, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion. Forgot my toothbrush and they had a complimentary one at the front desk. Yes, a cheapy one, but it's better than having a "fuzzy" mouth. And I mean they have a swirly water slide! Loved that the water wasn't deeper than ~ 3 1/2 feet. There's a bonus pool too in a room that's separate from the kid area too. Oh, and the breakfast. A bit more than your average hotel b-fast buffet. Loved the machine where you press a button, it pours batter, and pops out fresh, fluffy pancakes in a minute. So not five-star rating in terms of a luxurious hotel, but a fantastic spot for an easy, low-cost trip with the kids.

Terrible stay…read more First, the good. The front desk staff was kind. That's it. They were unable to refund any of my stay however, and thus ineffective. Now I've seen dirtier hotels, but therein lies the problem. This hotel is sneaky dirty. The rug looks vacuumed but feels like it has a film on it. The room looks clean but it stank of body order. The door inside lock had clearly been banged off before suggesting we were in the ghetto. The sheets reek of bleach so much you'll wake up with a headache (assuming you can sleep). Speaking of smells, the chlorine smell is so strong when you enter the lobby it blows you over. Clean pools don't smell that way. Dirty pools they are trying to pretend they are clean do. Now our biggest issue was there a couple rooms on our floor occupied by a dance team of maybe 10 year olds and one "parent". "Parent" however did nothing of the sorts. Thea kids ran wild until midnight. The girls ran up and down the halls, screeching, laughing, hollering hours past quiet hour. Newsflash, I stopped here right off the highway to sleep, not party. They were slamming doors and knocking and making it impossible for anyone to sleep on that floor. When we called the front desk they told us others had called too. Eventually the noise stopped but we should have been compensated at this point. We got maybe 3 hours sleep before having to hit the road again. At this point I realized I can't stay in this chain again. Their client service model is not good enough. I'm too old to save a buck on dirty rooms in systems that don't care about their customers. Buyer beware in this one.
