The golf course is EXTREMELY challenging. $114 for 18 holes on peak weekends. The course plays extremely long. Need big drives for a half way decent 2nd shot. I shouldn't be reviewing golf courses as my game is not up to par yet but atleast the review will be an avid fan of playing difficult courses. Everything is well taken care of and the staff is extremely friendly. Have a smaller selection of food and drinks but it's the average for a golf course. Great challenging spot. Great golf carts Overall a very nice 9.1 out of 10. Will definitely remember this course.

This resort certainly has lots of potential to be a beautiful place. The lobby area has a bunch of gorgeous woodwork and it provides a great greeting upon check-in;however, the folks at the front desk do not. I interacted with two different ladies at the front desk and they were not friendly at all, and one was very annoyed by our simple questions. I feel like someone in that role at a resort, not just some random hotel, should be very welcoming and happy to answer any questions you have. This was just not the case. We began walking back to the room and there was a huge shift in appearance and aroma from the lobby to the halls of the rooms. It smelled like pee in some areas and like mildew in others. There were various stains on the carpets and it all looked quite dirty. I noticed that some rooms had a laminate floor instead of carpet, which is something that really needs done in the whole building. I'm sure they're in a transition between updating parts of the building, so hopefully it will see better days in the next few years to come. The bedroom itself wasn't smelly, so that was a plus. The bed was very hard & old, and the pillows were old too and very uncomfortable. There were some old dried up contacts left around. After I showered, I wiped the floor with a towel in the bathroom and the towel was very yellow. So I'm assuming that was from pee on the floor? Hotels are pretty much always gross, but I guess I had higher expectations because it's a resort and not a cheap one either... Anyways, I am grateful to have had a place to stay with all of my family, especially one SO close to the wedding venue (5 mins from the resort). It was easy to ignore a lot of these things with something so pleasant going on at the time. I just don't think I'd personally come back again on my own doing, or at least not until the resort sees an abundance of updates. They offer mini golf, ziplining, a pool area, a spa, paintball, gemstone mining, and a few other things. I did not get to try any of those due to time restrictions, but it made me happy to see that they have a solid variety of activities for the summertime! They also have a stage where they do live music at night, which is always awesome to see. Again, lots of potential here, it's just a matter of fixing things up a bit!

Although the property is located in Findley New York, it is only about 15 minutes from the Pennsylvania state line. The owner, Suzanne Gromofsky was great to work with as we planned our trip and was always available for questions. The house was well stocked on our arrival and even included bug spray, sun screen and glow sticks for the kids plus some extra treats. The children enjoyed catching fireflies, searching out frogs at the pond in the evening and playing with the Barbies found in a closet, match cars, board games and stacking blocks. My grandson was even lucky enough to catch his first fish, than he proceeded to catch 8 more. (in the space of about a half hour). The water is located across the local road and comes with a great picnic table plus a nice dock. The property includes a barbecue off the back deck, fish cleaning station and ample parking for several cars. Inside, the bedrooms are very large (most of them have sitting rooms attached) with one bedroom containing bunk beds that accommodate 6 sleepy kiddos plus two bathrooms. There is a large dining room and also seating in the comfy kitchen. The Lodge includes two fireplaces for winter vacationers and is close to a major ski resort for snow activities. Do yourself a favor and next time your travels take you New York or Pennsylvania, make the Mayflower Lodge a must on the list! The town of Findley has some great tourist attractions, including a candle company, several antique stores and a great ice cream store! We definitely would love to return to the Mayflower Lodge on future visits!

Terrible stay…read more First, the good. The front desk staff was kind. That's it. They were unable to refund any of my stay however, and thus ineffective. Now I've seen dirtier hotels, but therein lies the problem. This hotel is sneaky dirty. The rug looks vacuumed but feels like it has a film on it. The room looks clean but it stank of body order. The door inside lock had clearly been banged off before suggesting we were in the ghetto. The sheets reek of bleach so much you'll wake up with a headache (assuming you can sleep). Speaking of smells, the chlorine smell is so strong when you enter the lobby it blows you over. Clean pools don't smell that way. Dirty pools they are trying to pretend they are clean do. Now our biggest issue was there a couple rooms on our floor occupied by a dance team of maybe 10 year olds and one "parent". "Parent" however did nothing of the sorts. Thea kids ran wild until midnight. The girls ran up and down the halls, screeching, laughing, hollering hours past quiet hour. Newsflash, I stopped here right off the highway to sleep, not party. They were slamming doors and knocking and making it impossible for anyone to sleep on that floor. When we called the front desk they told us others had called too. Eventually the noise stopped but we should have been compensated at this point. We got maybe 3 hours sleep before having to hit the road again. At this point I realized I can't stay in this chain again. Their client service model is not good enough. I'm too old to save a buck on dirty rooms in systems that don't care about their customers. Buyer beware in this one.
