Nice little fishing pond out front and the kids and adults were all out there catching little blue gills. The park is only a 20 minute car ride to Presque Isle which is an awesome bike ride and there are lots of restaurants and pubs. There are lots of permanent residents but everyone was friendly. We took a day trip to Niagara Falls to do the Maid of the Mist- it's about two hours away. This is not a fancy park but I would highly recommend. We are a big rig hauling a trailer and it was easy in and out.

Our spot was completely grass; we drove our truck onto it and had a HUGE space to set up camp. Our spot had an overgrown field about a hundred feet back, and a nice tree for shade. Other tent spots backed up to the woods, across the mowed field from us. The bathrooms here were very simple and clean. There was always toilet paper and soap, so it's being maintained. The showers are also nice but simple; to turn on you set a timer between 1-5. The water temperature is automatic but very comfortable. The owner went above and beyond to accommodate our 1am arrival; she called to check our status, left a map with a highlighted route and notes on how to get to our site, and even put an orange traffic cone next to the picnic table so we could see it in the dark! We are avid campers and adventurers, so this additional touch really made West Haven stand out. It was 10 minutes to get to town, and 20 to the tip of Presque Isle. There's a pool AND small fishing pond, paved roads throughout the campground and most sites are grassy, not gravel.

We stayed in the Foote suite, which was decorated in very soft yellow curtains and comforter. It also included two small chandeliers with adjustable lighting. The bathroom looked completely renovated with comfortable tiling and a nice big shower. We also purchased the lunch package which included two sandwiches, a choice of side, water bottles and cookie! It also included everything you need for the beach; towels, chairs, umbrella, blankets and books! We loved our lunch and looking for sea glass. We arrived right at 3 for our check in and received a warm welcome from Lesley complete with a review of the property and tour of the space. Very helpful to know where everything is right away! Plus - a welcome cocktail and sweet bread was waiting for us! Delicious! The room: we stayed in La Due, which had an amazingly comfortable king bed, ceiling fan, and tub/shower combo. No detail goes unnoticed in the room, the towels are soft and match the floor rugs beautifully. Robes are available for guests and plenty of outlet space for charging is around the room. A note to visitors: the shared refrigerator for guests is only a mini-fridge, so there isn't much storage space. We'd suggest planning ahead and bringing a cooler for any larger items you wanted to store - or calling ahead to see about options. When we wanted to chill champagne, Lesley was wonderful to assist us with an ice bucket and two glasses! I highly recommend a trip here - friendly, relaxing, and so comfortable!

Beautiful setting, nice view of the lake with stairway down to the little private beach. The owner and staff could have not possibly been any nicer. The pool was spotless as were the surroundings. And pool was perfect temperature. Price is a little high but again everything was clean and comfortable and people were so nice. One thing that bothered us, and it is absolutely not the owners fault, is that people drive in off the street and sit in the chairs watching the sunset. We pulled in around 9 o'clock and there were 20 people there, after the sun went down at least 10 got into vehicles and drove away. I'm sure that we will be back to spend another weekend here

I passed The Lighthouse Inn & Restaurant on my way to Presque Isles and went back around 6pm and managed to get their last room. I had a very nice conversation with the lady that owns the place when I checked in. I found my room to be pleasant and very clean. The room was nice and quite. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I had a very good nights sleep and a nice shower the following morning. For a last minute trip over a holiday weekend, I could not have been luckier to find a clean and cozy room that was in a great location. It was close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. If I am ever in need of a room again when passing through Erie, this will be my first choice for a place to stay.

We will always stay there when we're in town. It is immaculately clean, quiet, good "air" (no smells, good temp), fresh linens--updated enough to be pleasant and fresh--but with yesteryear charm. We appreciated the good TV and WIFI, the "motor court" style, with parking right outside our door, the friendly-hands on owners, the beautiful stream across the street, the comfortable beds, strong shower, black out curtains--and VERY affordable rates. It is refreshing in its simplicity and quality, and it's location is very convenient.
