Orientation was a bit over the kids heads but they got it through real-life application. The obstacles started easy and gained in difficulty. Not a lot of zip line but fun obstacles. Jack, Nick and Ryan were great. At one point the 9 year old wanted to bail on the obstacles and Ryan gave a pep talk and she finished the course. We paid and extra $10 for the high line zip line. It was well worth it. Note go before your kids on the obstacles so you can help them hit the landing pads and get set up for the next adventure.

I'm here for mini golf, *especially* if it's in the shade. Timber Falls has 3 courses built along the river, in the shade. Perfect. The holes we tried weren't particularly difficult, and it was a short walk from one to the next. Even though we didn't take the "scenic" course, it uses elevation well, taking us through a tunnel and over bridges and rivers to provide something for all the senses. The holes themselves are simple, especially compared to other holes at other establishments, but... 5- and 9-year olds don't care. Maybe it's because not everything is running after 2020, or maybe it's something else, but there were quite a few water features not running. In addition, while I like the naturalistic setting, some additional decorations to support the timber theme would be nice. A few bridges and holes (like the red mill, which is well designed but a bit weedy) could use some sprucing up or replacement. Overall though, just a fine place to take your kids. Especially if it's 93° F, humid, and mostly sunny.

But I don't think they actually check the time of the ticket or control the flow of the crowds. For the peaks times (up until 10:15pm) it's $27 per person online. You can also walk-in and purchase snacks and tickets in person. The lights were very pretty and there were some interactive elements too. They have a large patio type area with lounge chairs and fire pits in the area before/after the walk. I would highly recommend doing a time that's as late as possible to minimize the number of other people around. It's also a couple bucks cheaper. A part of the path the lights were out. I don't think that was intentional. It was unlit and a little difficult to walk since it was a downhill portion. I liked that there was a bench or two in each of the main displays. I saw lot of families visiting. But the gravel path is not the most accessible. Like another person said other people are the worst part. You'll see hoards of people recording on their phones the entire time. It was fun and I'm glad to have experienced it but there could be improvements on timing when people are let in and keeping the display more maintained. Maybe they could do more frequent time slots and actually adhere to them or limit the number of people during each time and have the storyline sync up with the entry times.

What a top notch experience!…read more Listen, they market this experience well. They make it sound so incredibly magical. So, I was hooked in by the marketing. In the back of my mind, though, I was pretty convinced they were over-selling the enchantment. My friends, if anything, they were under-selling it. It was the coolest, most magical immersive and interactive forest walk of my life. The technology is astounding. As my son who was with me shared after, 'it felt like we were dropped inside a Disney movie'. I couldn't have said it better myself. Beyond the magic, some logistical notes: The trail is wide and dirt/gravel. There are some slightly steep areas and so it's not entirely accessible. My elderly parents opted to skip it and after doing it that was the best call (between the dark, the sometimes slightly uneven ground, and the slightly steep areas, it would have been too much). There are also flashing lights if you're sensitive to that. The entire trail is roughly one mile so you could ostensibly be through with it in 20 minutes. That said, with all the light show magic, it took us just over an hour. There are benches here and there if someone needs a quick rest. I would seriously do this every time I come to the Dells. An absolutely above-and-beyond awe inspiring experience. Get to it!

Nick, our guide, did a great job explaining the process, procedures, safety protocols and how to overcome our inner fears. Once strapped into our safety gear, I felt a 'warm blanket' over me as the ropes were taunt and reassured me I would be okay. Once I got through the 'mental block' of climbing a rock wall, I had a BLAST! The fun part was the challenge. Not only the physical challenge, but the mental challenge. Nick did a phenomenal job coaching me through it; where to put my feet, how to shift my hands and what my next move should be if I felt stuck. This experience allowed me to push outside my comfort zone and do something I normally wouldn't do. I know this is saying a lot, but climbing was a life changing event. Tom Foolery's is a large family fun complex with tons of things to outside the credit-hungry ticket producers and claw machines. With a limited amount of time and children 5 and under, we didn't utilize every offering inside the building but did note the many ways you could get lost into spending a lot of time here. A Ferris wheel, ropes course, bowling alley, and more all filled up the space. We ended up spending our time playing some racing games and simple 'skill' games with balls or simple mechanics the kids could handle. Our adventures landed us with an amount of tickets we redeemed for some trinkets on the way out. Overall a fun experience that could have led to more if we had the time. Would recommend checking it out as part of your Kalahari (or nearby) experience.

Attached to the Kalahari, they've updated and rearranged a bit and there's even more fun to be had. They have a variety of indoor rides. Personally, I dig the indoor ferris wheel and could seriously go on that on repeat (but I happen to love a good ferris wheel). They also have go carts, arcade games (complete with prizes), ax throwing, bowling, mini golf, and more. If you get the day pass, the mini golf is included--just a word of warning, it's a serve yourself kind of situation and there were some kids running around and maybe being a little chaotic with it vs. taking it in order (if that makes sense). They didn't bother us to much and when we kindly asked if they could wait before playing on the hole we were on, they did so. But, I could see on busier days it getting kinda wild. They have a new winners shop. Previously, like many arcades, it was a counter where you could spend your winnings (aka tickets). Now, they have a full blown shop, which I'm sure the kiddos will enjoy. They also have a new little bar situation where you can get frozen drinks as well as snacks. All in all, they've grown and expanded. If I had small kids, this would be a gold mine. They could play the whole day away in here. Get to it!
