I booked a haircut appointment at this salon after having a positive experience months ago, so I expected a similar level of professionalism and stylist experience this time around. I booked specifically with the understanding that the salon offered stylists experienced with current trending cuts like wolf cuts and shags.
I arrived only three minutes past my appointment time, which in my twenty years of experience working around salons has generally fallen well within a normal grace period. Upon arriving, the interaction immediately felt rushed and uncomfortable rather than welcoming.
After showing the stylist a reference photo of the cut I had booked for, she admitted she did not feel confident performing the style and instead asked if she could "just trim my split ends." Since I did appreciate her honesty, I agreed to a very small trim instead.
Unfortunately, the haircut I received did not reflect the layered shape my hair already had. My ends were trimmed as though my hair were one length, and significantly more hair was removed than I had requested. The end result felt more like a rushed budget chain haircut than a professional salon experience.
What made the appointment even more uncomfortable was the ongoing negative commentary from the stylist about Central Oregon, the local community, and "country folk." As someone who genuinely loves this area and its people, I found the conversation inappropriate and off-putting during a service where clients should feel relaxed and comfortable.
Overall, I left disappointed -- both with the haircut itself and the lack of professionalism and client care throughout the appointment. Sadly, I will not be returning. read more
