Craig and Zack showed up 15 minutes early, unloaded their equipment and refinished the floors in my apartment quickly in about half a days work! The floors look amazing, they definitely do high quality work with attention to detail with good equipment. No dust mess clean up, processed a credit card payment on site. They went above and beyond and even refinished the small transition strip between the apartment hallway and my tiled entry. My strata wanted all their insurance documents, WCB coverage and business license and Lori got everything I needed together and emailed over to me. I will be suggesting Seawest to everyone I know who wants to update their wood flooring, my mother in law is already talking about doing theirs! After getting 4 quotes, and…read more4 different scopes of work (what they would and wouldn't do,) I decided on this company and for a number of reasons: Tanya came with a tonne of knowledge - from colour to paint to hardware, cost, and more. She was able to offer suggestions as to what would look good, and what would be economical for me. She was extremely thorough. As well, she showed genuine interest in making my kitchen beautiful. Another contractor (I'll call him Joe) told me to figure it all out myself, which I did not find helpful. He said he was not a decorator. Everything Tanya put together for me, verbally, or otherwise, was very detailed and easily understood. I had to ask Joe a few times to clarify what he meant, which made me uncomfortable. At that point, I felt suspicious because it was beginning to appear that he was only going to put doors on and anything after that was extra and would take me well beyond the original quote. (See below) There were no hidden fees or nickel-and-diming during this transaction. She was kind enough to throw in a few extras as well - something the other 3 companies would not do. In fact, Joe was not going to paint the frames of the cabinets, saying that once the new doors went on, you would not notice the old cruddy parts of the cabinets. Not so as they were very old and discoloured. As well, Joe did not plan to do anything with the panel at the end of the row of cabinets. He told me it would cost me $150 to return to do those measurements, and $350 to put a new standard cabinet-sized panel on the end. The staff at Kitchen Makeovers is stellar. They are a young group of people, all with an extraordinary work ethic. They are: Tanya, Nadia1, Scarlet, Hayley, Jonah, and Nadia2. I couldn't have asked for better. Even with the amount of staff attending, there was never any breakdown in communication. They all had a specific job to do and they did it. The staff were always on time, in spite of having to drive from the Valley. They were all very pleasant, helpful, and did meticulous work. Their clean-up was impeccable. In closing, I will say that out of all the contractors I've had in my place in the last 2 years, (and there were many,) this company, by far, out-performed all of them, in terms of honesty, efficiency, price, customer care, and integrity.
