Whenever I am visit Columbia Road flower market, I always stop off here to see what they have. I am not much of a garden person - I love gardens, and I appreciate them and all the wonderful things that flower in a well maintained garden, but I don't have a clue how to garden, or what goes where, or even how to keep a plant alive. (I'm a plant killer, unfortunately)
None of that matters in this lovely shop. It specialises more in garden furniture and miscellaneous objects that would look great in a garden, so nothing much that I can kill by forgetting to water. A lot of the artifacts seem quite antiqu-ey and vintage. They have a range of bird feeders, steel watering cans, wrought iron garden chairs ( I once spied a beautiful iron love seat here, at a very reasonable price).
I often come out with packs of herbs which I give as gifts. They are designed in a very modern way -a silver pouch adorned with art work, and the herbs are always interesting and varied - Russian Tarragon, Sweet Basil, Wild Garlic.
The owners are friendly and helpful, and always rushed off their feet; this shop gets very busy! read more
